People complained Mega Man 11 is difficult because of the extremely long levels with stingy check points.

Everyone who says this is a true casual, MM11 is easy as fuck.

By far the best selection of robot master weapons (even better than 9). None of the "themed projectile shoots directly in front of you" that clogged up the lineups of 4-6, and not a useless one in the mix. Being able to select them from a radial menu with the right stick is a godsend too, and makes them a lot more appealing to fuck around with during normal play. There's even a lot of great time trial challenges that require quick & clever usage of your weapons and that helped extend the life of the game a lot for me.

Boss battles are fantastic, especially if you mindfully go at them without abusing the gear system. I would say they're comparable to X8 or ZX in quality.

Level designs are clever both thematically and mechanically, and I love how each boss' weakness weapon gives you an advantage in their stage as well.

The only thing it's missing is a killer soundtrack, but that's more the fault of the soundfont they used than the actual compositions, which sound great when arranged with other instruments

I didn't really like that Strider metroidvania game.

From what I read so did the lead designer, Yoshiki Okamoto. He thought he'd be socially killed & be forced to resign in disgrace. Instead the game was stupidly popular in Japan because Japan was riding a huge wave of "America is Awesome" at the time.
