Sephiroth transitioning into godhood

why does this song and absolute jenova suck so much

End your life immediately.

Birth of a God is better than One Winged Angel

fighton > j-e-n-o-v-a > birth of a god > let the battles begin > jenova absolute >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> one winged angel

That's the Cum Guardian. Didn't you fucking listen to Ansem? I swear, people are deaf.

The actual name of it was "Sephiroth Rebirth". It was mistranslated as Bizarro.
So, the glowing core at the center is where the real Sephiroth is. This is a body he's forming around that.
This body is (presumably) destroyed in the battle against it, with Sepher Sephiroth (mistranslated as 'Safer') bursting from within and doing his novas and all that.

>How do demi-gods must look like?
>Squaresoft: Just deformed and shit.

Is ther a reason for why Safer Sephiroth's wing attack was called White Horse?

Probably?
Kefka also had a "cruel angel" theme to his fight. Some attacks are copied from that (the one that sets a part member's hp to 1 etc.)

why was ff7's finale such a disappointment
will the remake fix it

An explorer in the further regions of experience.
An angel to some, demon to others.

Attached: pinhead.jpg (1600x900, 147K)

>Sephiroth
>demi-god
He's a half-alien sucking up planet juice, not a god.

Doesn't that inflict status effects? In a lot of media, the White Horseman of the apocalypse is called Pestilence despite it actually being named Conquest in the Bible.

jenova absolute is an objectively terrible song especially for a final boss
it doesn't even sound anything like the regular jenova theme

It doesn't matter, all bosses (and most monsters) in FF saga are senseless abominations wether they're "divine", alien or magical. The image of transcending for Squaresoft was always abhorrent.

Attached: hqdefault[1].jpg (480x360, 25K)

Japan in general has the idea of angelic beings being monstruosities (Remember Bayo). It's likely based on the descriptions of the angels from the Old Testament.

The few "gods" that actually appear in FF are not genuine gods. They're mortals falsely ascending. They're more akin to the demiurge than any actual divinity. As for Necron, he's an image of Death, so of course he's intended to look frightening. Not in an evil way, because that's not how FFIX handles the idea of death, but just in the sense that mortals are naturally afraid of death.

For some reason, I kept thinking this song came from FFV despite playing FFVII over a dozen times. This one just never stuck in my memory.

This tbqh

This, is the birth of a God.

Jenova (Sephiroth) is giving birth to Sephiroth (Jenova)

but you already killed jenova before this

And what was that Jenovas name.

Sephiroth is also Jenova.

kek

are you retarded
sephiroth has jenova in him, he isn't actually jenova you dingus

No, I'm not. I am however getting very worried about you.

>hurr durr absolute jenova wasn't the real jenova

What?

I'm saying Jenova fucking SYNTHESIS combined with Sephiroth when you blasted it to fuck and back to shit out Bizzarro.

>headcanon
yeah okay

What incel souls look like if they had them

Jenova Absolute is fucking great

how could you think that
it literally sounds unfinished or like it was meant for something else instead

The remake is going to be worse in every way
So no

shit taste m8

You kill Jenova 4 times it didn't stop it then, while its cells exist there is Jemova. Sephiroth is also Jenova, he uses Jenova Force during this fight.

You only really defeat Jenova when Cloud defeats the last Sephiroth.

Seraph Sephiroth
You know, cause of seraphs?

>he uses Jenova Force during this fight
what are you talking about

it's bizzaro

FF7 was really the only Final Fantasy I could get into, and I wish the entire series just expanded on that world instead of just going to far less interesting ones per installment.

should we tell him?

I know about the spinoffs. I want more.

One Winged Angel sounds like shark attack music and it's just too goofy for what it was meant to be
Kinda grows on you though

That's a fairy. You're not afraid of faries, are you?

Sephiroth doesn’t really have any character outside of mommy issues and trying to control Cloud and Jenova was underutilized. I wouldn’t mind if Remake adds some more Jenova encounters. At minimum they should give BIRTH, LIFE and DEATH unique designs for each other.

That's pretty accurate throughout multiple mythologies though. It's a coin toss whether you get Hercules or a monster

The evolved form of this.

>Safer Sephiroth has a spell that literally turns you into a sad frog

Jenova was in control the entire time by the way

Any JRPGs where the final boss is the human/humanoid who doesn't transform into a hulking monstrosity but fights you with his/her pure skill and power?

Wasn't it a mistranslation of "pale horse"? As in death riding on a pale horse.

maybe in hindsight... When I was 9 and I was finishing my first playthrough of the game I was blasted away from how "epic" it was. Yes epic is a meme word but I can't find any other word to describe it. It also fit perfectly with the ascension theme that the safer sephiroth fight focuses on. For some reason the MIDI version from the original is the only one I am nostalgic about. All the new versions from KH and the movie don't cut it for me. Birth of a God and jenova absolute were brilliant too, god tier soundtrack in general.

>ThE gIfT oF tHe GOdDeSs
Why did anyone think this was a good idea

Maybe I'm just used to epic music like that being played exclusively in humorous contexts instead of straight.

But that's not Cid's theme
>TFW always killed this guy way too fast to see any of these attacks

Attached: Tifa vs. Ying Yang Ying-Yang.png (1280x1024, 569K)

>mfw I realized they gave sephiroth supernova because otherwise he wouldn't live long enough for you to hear any amount of one winged angel

Attached: 2Y64WZa.jpg (2560x1440, 932K)

Wrong. Jenova and Sephiroths goals went hand in hand. Jenova was mostly a dead husk, Bloodborne Kos style, and Sephiroth made contact, followed his instincts, and pretty much became Jenova by the end.

>But that's not Cid's theme
*blocks your path and makes you cry*
youtube.com/watch?v=fIqKWLkm2-g

>Try to prolong the fight because I know I would kill him too quickly
>He hits the person with counter on Knights of the Round

I love the New Threat mod.

Attached: 1567987120392.png (2149x1518, 2.64M)

Cid's theme always makes me much more emotional
For some reason that song is just pure, compressed and concentrated nostalgia for me

so can someone explain what the point of bizarro sephiroth even is
he doesn't even attack you, he just heals constantly and does a whole lot of nothing to make you wait before you can even attack again

I'm still not sure how anyone could take away the "they all died" thing from the ending. Brought to you by the same people that insist that the Ed, Edd, and Eddy cul-de-sac is limbo/purgatory. Even as a kid, I never thought they died. The extended canon (love it or hate it) came as no surprise.

>bizarro

it's in the name

>xb2 poster is retarded

colour me surprised here

My guess is that it's supposed to invoke the feeling of trying to put down a rapidly regenerating organism before it evolves out of control.

not this autism again

they are immortal thanks to materia and phoenix down
they're just not with red in the ending

FF6 and FF9 should be higher

FF13-2's should be added pretty high

FF14's ARR and HW final dungeons should be added near the top:
youtube.com/watch?v=6lJyrLSFLDA
youtube.com/watch?v=jx3QPiTcXa4

Move FF15 and FF8 way down

Tell me more

This is because angels and the word of God were based around hallucinations.

He does quite a lot of different attacks, but he's very undertuned so if you haven't been running away from most random battles, or you're stocked up on powerful materia, you'll likely just kill his attacking segments(the wings) in a couple of turns.

mmmmm that's great low poly

please don't take her away again

I want one of these motherfuckers so bad, they can make you tear up instantly

>it's retarded and autistic to care about characters in a long rpg and want to see resolution for them

Attached: 20190307_014430.jpg (750x832, 287K)

when I fought him half the battle was him doing his slightly moving shit which just made me wait, then he would heal, and then maybe he would do one small attack on one character that doesn't even do 200 damage
it all seemed really pointless to me

I would argue the lighthouse in FF12 is the real final dungeon. The bahamut only has like 3 rooms.

They resolved their issues before Northern Crater, and you clearly see them survive after Aerif livestreams to save the planet. You then see that the planet flourishes in the future with Nanaki. Why do you zoomer need everything to be spelled out for you?

Attached: aerif.png (1430x880, 619K)

>Aerif

I hope remake has Sephiroth fail to kill Aerith and lets you keep her for a bit more before suddenly having her die at a later point.

what were you expecting from an animefag

Then you were just overleveled and cheesed the fight, which will happen just from fighting every enemy you normally encounter because FF7 is a hilariously easy game. His move list copypasted from a wiki is: Sephiroth Shock, Fire 3, Ice 3, Bolt 3, Demi 3, Quake 3, Aurora Fence, Stigma, Heartless Angel, Bizarro Energy, Slow, Stop

>gaytorium over Amaurot or Ala Mhigo
Yikes

I find it to be a good go-between for aerith VS aeris wars.

Those FFXIV songs are shit. Some of the worst and most boring in the game.

I WANT TO KISS HER

They're gonna do it, user. You'll know it's coming the entire time and it'll still hurt when it happens.

Attached: 1561034149047.jpg (1070x1170, 144K)

>play a game normally
>become "overleveled"
what is this bullshit
even pokemon red and blue didn't have this problem

The entire point of FF7's ending is that it's ambiguous whether or not the main characters and humanity were wiped out, but that regardless of outcome, life and nature retakes the planet in the future. It's an open ending where the planet is the winner, and the extinction of humanity might be what's best for the planet (Which is also why the WEAPONs existed).

PIZZA TIME

If you play FFVII normally you'll be like level 55 by the time you reach Northern Crater which isn't overlevelled

Birth of a God is worth more than your life.

I wanted to see tifa cooking for cloud you fuck

Dumb bitch.

PIZZA PIZZA

retards like you is why trash like AC and the other compilation garbage exists

>Pandemonium that low
Eat my ass

then why are all the final bosses still so retardedly easy and boring
that fucker with a lamp you can random encounter in the crater is more of a challenge than jenova or either sephiroth

neck yourself

FF7 was made to be babby's first RPG to sell to all the dudebros who had only played Madden or Fifa depending on hemisphere. It was a great success at that. It's a stupidly easy game where mashing attack and occasionally healing will get you through the entire thing without a sweat. Which should become evident early on, at which point a savvy player will stop leveling up to preserve some challenge.

So it is written...

Cloud would probably be a better cook.

shut the fuck up

>There is no bad mix of Battle on the Big Bridge

the WEAPONs existed because of jenova you dunce

Your opinions are bad, but we can't all have high musical intelligence. Most FF14 players are unable to recognize the quality of the music in their own game, and think garbage like the Shiva pop song is good while not even taking note of the real masterpieces.

why do Yea Forumsfags ruin everything

If you fucking read the account in Revelations, the order that the horses appear makes perfect sense.

moots not here
fuck off back to Yea Forums

Yeah I never understood the reverse caterpillars.

They're monsters from the moon.

Yeah but, why are they reversed? Why are they even caterpillars?

Birth of a God is great, but it doesn't really fit the almost-final boss. It's too cheerful considering you're fighting an angelic abomination made of mako and Jenova cells. It does pick up a minute in at least, but VII's OST pales in comparison to VI's as far as final bosses go.

Moon monsters

>40mins if footage this weekend with possible Red XIII and Elena reveal

can't wait

Attached: Tifa.jpg (867x696, 111K)

Yeah, but, why!? How do they even survive on the moon?!

I always assumed they'd just cut Red XIII from the game.

why

If anyone's getting cut it's Cait Sith.

Squenix isn't smart, but you're even less smart than them.

Nomura already said you fight two doggos that were cut from the original just before getting RedXIII.

I want Tifa to suplex me killing me instantly.

yes please

Once I saw it in Japanese it became pretty obvious. Spelled the same way as "Reverse" in Japanese.

I can't wait to find out in 12 years when part 3 comes out.

>that fucker with a lamp

Who's the little guy on his head?

Himself.

it's not the best theme but it has the best drop i'll give you that

Bizzaro.

First squad to the rear
Seen a bear, and a tree

then why did he look normal when you first see his real body in the crater

I felt that from OWA too but I think it was more the fact that I was hearing voices in the song. It was the first time I heard singing in a video game.

>girl
user..."she" had a giant drill dick that was trying to penetrate NERV.

Himself and also a reference to Kefka Tier 3.

The dude from FF12 doesn't transform much does he? I remember him just getting really buff and being able to f ly.

Not him but he def turns into a monstrosity when the bahamut starts combining with him and venat

He activates the nethicite in his bones to turn into the Hulk. Then he fuses with Venat, an angel, to get supercharged and fuse with the Bahamut fortress.

>The dude from FF12 doesn't transform much
....Not..."too" much

Attached: vayne ff12.jpg (640x480, 128K)

Final Fantasy X-2.

I can understand why people may think FVII's gameplay and/ or story is bad, but why are there so many haters for the OST recently?
It is, without any kind of doubt, one of the best OST in history.
That and the great visual atmosphere made the game.

Attached: hbgtfsgfsn.gif (446x251, 726K)

Right forgot about that part, I just remembered the part before when we was just buff.

Why is Amano so god damned based?

Attached: CD143920-E443-4170-B21D-D3ED3BBC3065.jpg (220x310, 21K)

>why are there so many haters for the OST recently?
When this kind of thing happens it tends to either be the result of a group of dedicated shitposters, or the result of an e-celeb making a comment about the subject and their fans begin to parrot their opinion.
Yes, there are people who legitimately feel that way, but they're typically not vocal enough to stand out in the same obvious way that these groups do.

The story is the only reason people play it. There is some autistic feeling to optimizing characeter materia set ups needlessly though which once one is drawn in by the story one can partake in as I have

Sephiroth gained so much lifestream energy that he transformed.

Part of the reason why the primal songs are popular is because they are completely unexpected in both the type of game and the high fantasy setting

Loveless is more of a Yea Forums thing, and if it were Yea Forums it would be well written at least
A lot of Yea Forums epics were heavily mythologised versions of real events

this ain't it chief.

Nah, I like FF7 but it would be terrible if FF decided to completely abandon its high fantasy roots forever. I like Red Mages and Black Mages, and that’s the exact reason why I play FF14.

Though it may have been possible that the FF7 world was like that at some point, either before or after the events of FF7

Attached: FFVII-BizzaroSeph-concept.png (908x1267, 966K)

Because its not even the best OST in its own fucking series you massive shithead. There are several FF's whos OSTS outclass it by miles.

FFVII is THE MOST painfully overrated game to ever exist.

Here he is folks, the biggest contrarian on planet Earth.

>There is no bad mix of Battle on the Big Bridge
The one from XV.

I'm going to be so pissed if the remake doesn't bring with it all the early polignal nightmare fuel the original game featured. I don't knkw if the monster designers were just fucking around since the tech or what but I love it. It really feels like designs like these would never be allowed today for being too outragous and bizarre.

Attached: ff7-unknown2.png (450x442, 68K)

I think most of them were just fucking around. Most of the ShinRa monsters had concept art so it's safe to say those had the most thought put into them.

the thumbnail made it look like a Brachydios that just gained the giga-nigga status

I suppose. If it was then I wish tgey did it more, I love shit like this. Even just the names of some enemies are amazing, like "Vargid Police" here. The original FF7 translation has that perfect "late 90's rpg" translation quality that I love.

I expect most of them will make it in just fine. Some of the weirder ones have recently appeared as cards in Mobius with new, more realistic artwork already, so they certainly aren't afraid to remind people that that shit happened.

Retard. The Japanese is セーファ・セフィロス, literally "Sefa Sephiroth." "Safer" is an appropriate transliteration of the katakana there, but it should probably be "Sepher." "Sepher Sephiroth" in Hebrew translates as "Book of Numbers." His appearance is obviously seraph-inspired, but that has nothing to do with his name.

It's basically a cocoon, with his next form hatching out of the top of his head. That's why Safer loses a bit of HP for every time you kill the head during the Bizarro battle

You never found Holy before going in the crater. What were you expecting? The whole point of going there was just so Cloud could settle the score with Sephiroth, which is pretty much all the resolution that was left to be had anyway

I still don't get that Goddess Gaia shit

next your gonna say ff6 is the best game in the series. neck yourself contrarian

Yikes

I got Tifa date on my one playthrough so I felt she got more than enough scenes. The one that really needed more was Cait Sith. We barely even see the guy who was controlling the puppet body. I don't even remember his name

>"Sepher Sephiroth" in Hebrew translates as "Book of Numbers."

>An Introduction to the Book of Numbers

>I. TITLE:

>A. The Hebrew title is Bemidbar or “In the Wilderness” (rbdmb) (of Sinai?)1

>B. The Greek title in the translation of the OT (LXX) was arithmoi (ARIQMOI) emphasizing the lists of numbers recorded in the book (1--4; 26)

>C. The Latin Vulgate picked up on the Greek title and named the book Numeri from which the English acquires the name Numbers.

u wut bro?

>Sefirot (/sfJˈroʊt, ˈsfJroʊt/; Hebrew: סְפִירוֹת səp̄îrôṯ), meaning emanations, are the 10 attributes/emanations in Kabbalah, through which Ein Sof (The Infinite) reveals Itself and continuously creates both the physical realm and the chain of higher metaphysical realms (Seder hishtalshelus). The term is alternatively transliterated into English as sephirot/sephiroth, singular sefirah/sephirah etc.

>Sefirot (ספירות, sfirot, singular ספירה sfirɔ), literally means "counting, enumeration", but early Kabbalists presented a number of other etymological possibilities from the same Hebrew root including: sefer ("text" - ספר)
Learn to read past the first paragraph of a wikipedia article you fucking mong.

Yeah, cus FFV is the best.

>Sepher (סֶפֶר) is Hebrew for "book".

>Səphīrōth (סְפִירוֹת, medieval Hebrew form of Sephirot; also spelled Sefirot), is a plural noun in Hebrew; the singular is Sephirah (also spelled Sefira). The Sephiroth are described in the Kabbalah as the manifestations of God that allow him to manifest in the physical and metaphysical universes. Sephiroth also means "counting" (of numbers).

>The boss's name as written in Japanese is "セーファ・セフィロス", or "Sēfa Sefirosu"; "safer" can also be transliterated as "sefer", "sapher", and "sepher". Thus, Safer Sephiroth (Sefer Sfirot) translates to "Book of Numerations" likely referring to the 10 Kabbalistic Sefirot, the ten aspects of creation according to Jewish Mysticism.

Question: I beat FF8 last week and the scene where the monsters reach the planet was built up to be a super catastrophic event....but it didn't really amount to anything other than just getting the sorceress down to the Pandora Lunatic. Was there something I missed or did all those monsters go somewhere else?

The problem is, the Book of Numbers isn't actually called the Book of Numbers in Hebrew. It's called Bemidbar or “In the Wilderness”

It's not necessarily referring to the Biblical text that we call the Book of Numbers in English. His name just literally means 'Book of Numbers'.

I actually don't remember what the fuck the point of the Lunar Cry or the Lunatic Pandora was, so you're making me want to replay it.

Attached: 1562260246581.gif (245x245, 703K)

That has nothing to do with anything though. "Sepher Sephiroth" literally translates to the English phrase "book of numbers" or something similar enough to it, regardless of the original title of the biblical Book of Numbers. My guess is that they had already long since decided that his name would be Sephiroth and for his final boss fight, they picked a name that would be significant to that word, and translating "book of numbers" back into Hebrew to get the name works as well as anything else would've.

The important point to take away is that his name isn't derivative of the word "Seraph" which a lot of people claim, and "Safer" is technically a valid transliteration of the katakana, despite most likely missing the mark of the intent behind the name.

The monsters from the moon are stronger than, and can cause changes in, those on the planet. Really the full effects of the Lunar Cry won't be known unless we get a sequel that deals with the fact that the monster population got a boost.
The only real effect during the game is that Esthar is overrun and the monsters around it on the world map change.

Having a giant winged man with a cloud body and wing legs being called a Book isn't exactly a great naming decision

still the best

Reminder that there is no good way to play FF7-9 and never will be. Your childhood is gone and will never return.

Attached: large.jpg (1280x720, 103K)

Sephiroth is already a mystical concept and not a person's name. You're taking the word 'text' too literally. In a mystical sense, text is the imperfect, physical carrier of information. When Thoth transcribes divine truths into text form so that humanity can read them, they become corrupted by the existence of subjectivity. So Sephiroth is not a emanation of divinity, he is a material corruption of the concept.

It was way worse trope for "Sin" in FFX

Steam version of 8 with the roses and wine patch is pretty nice

Attached: 1567807687581.png (891x1265, 732K)

But FF7 is empty of theological meaning as it is a silly story of rebel terrorists fighting a giant corporation and a man created by genetic experimentation from cells of an alien that crashed on earth. Sephiroth was named because the japanese thought his name Looked Cool for the most part and that's it.

Can you really say this looks good?

Attached: ff8 steam.jpg (1920x1080, 303K)

Damn Sephiroth, you got too swole, you need to stop liftin for a few months bra

The cocoon Sephiroth's God body was bring created in.

The esoteric isn't exclusively something implemented in stories on purpose. These concepts exist as a deeper part of our psyche and shared human experience, and will naturally flow out in everything we create. But that aside, can you really say with absolute certainty that nobody on the writing team was interested in Hermetics?

what do the moon runes on his arm say

Eggs

Adding to this, the thing that sends Sephiroth on his journey in the first place is his incorrect understanding of a text. His understanding of the text is warped by his preconceptions. I think I'm going to replay FF7 with these thoughts in mind, because this conversation is really making me think.

It didn't reflect in the story. This ain't Xenogears here where it at least reflects a bit more. Also Doom/Fiend was named Sefiros in concept art by Nomura, Ol Beltanzipper himself so I assume he's the one into that, and by it being Nomura I can be sure he's not into anything beyond surface level.

I can literally smell FFV when I listen to this song in any form, don’t ask how I just do

What does ff5 smell like? An old Japanese book shop in Osaka?

"Sissy faggot". He got it done while in Wutai and thinks it means "strength", but he doesn't actually know how to read their shit so they fucked with him.

Sephirot is a Qabbalistic term, not hermetic

Probably, it has a very light and bookish smell

>It didn't reflect in the story.
At least in the case of Sephiroth's name, it did. I'm not saying the whole story is any kind of deep esoteric examination or anything, just that his name makes sense.

Do you think Hermetics don't study Qabalah?

What if I didn’t play these games during my childhood?

>Transitioning

Used to be that characters wanting to change what they were in violation of nature were villians

Then you will never play them for the first time for real ;_;

I remember when I played Suikoden II in 2015 or so. I felt it was "good" but couldn't see it as great like other people who played it in context describe it, up there with the FFs and Chrono Trigger and other RPGs of the 90s. I never played it as a kid, so I can only see its grandeur through a glass darkly, trying to imagine what it would've felt like as a kid.

the switch version of ff7 is good

Suikoden II

300%?

FF7 has this aesthetic charm from the fact that it’s old, you are given a sense of false-nostalgia. Since you played it from when it was old, you get this sense of atmosphere and charm intertwined with it being old - you see and appreciate things you wouldn’t see when you it was new or when you were a child because you don’t have your nostalgia glasses on. It also has the creepy doll like aesthetic that old 3D animation had, some of the characters look like living toys in the cutscene and that just adds to my imagination and the atmosphere.

FF7 just has a cool aesthetic, and it’s charm comes from its age. Playing it as a old game for the first time is truly an atmospheric experience by itself, and I really appreciated it. Going through Shinra HQ gave me that feeling of being at hospital at night when I was a very young child, with the yellow lighting on my ward, I loved the feelings I got from playing it.

FFV and IV also had this early 90s high fantasy charm

Wrong, ff7 characters are terrible

fugg

the entire last act of ff7 is dogshit and clearly rushed, the game really doesn't make you feel like aerith's death had a profound impact on cloud, and the fact that it's addressed in advent children is the only good thing about this movie
it was also really lame that sephiroth barely had a presence at the end, he was just there for you to fight, there was no sense of triumph to it all and the writers failed to accentuate just how severe of an impact sephiroth had on cloud's psyche

damn she thirsty

cloud already overcame it in the lifestream at mideel when he remembered he was the chad who after getting stabbed lifted sephiroth up by his own sword and tossed him into the lifestream. there was nothing left to explore.

are you the same dumbass from yesterday's thread?

>this but FF9

don't let Yea Forums zoomers bully you

>Every time you fought "Sephiroth" it turns into a Jenova monster
>When you fight the original Sephiroth body it turns into a Jenova monster
>And it gives birth to a powered up final Jenova monster that actually kind of looks like Sephiroth

I don't see why it's confusing, Sephiroth is an alien flesh monster, it can change its shape as he wills.

Cloud and Aeris were friends but they didn't actually know each other for too long. Her death had about as much effect on him as I thought it would

What was more jarring was that his hometown burning down had about the same effect on him and that you can literally enter his home as it burns during the flashback and he hardly even seems to perceive that his mother is in the process of becoming charcoal.

Best pairing.

I always thought Jessie has orange hair and a cowboy hat.

Attached: Yakuza 7.webm (960x540, 2.59M)

I thought Yakuza was a beat-em-up game.
Why is it an RPG now.

Tifa had the cowboy hat during the Nibelheim flashbacks.

why
it sucks ass

then what the hell was the jenova gamesphere you fight before any of that

I really fucking hope we see Red XIII at TGS

same

Completely removing a main character that people love, in the remake of the game he debuted in, is a move so retarded that even Square Enix wouldn't consider it.

I don't know of anyone who considers Red XIII a "main character."

It was Jenova. If you've ever seen The Thing, that's pretty much what Jenova is. Her body is just fragmented throughout the game and she uses the psychic link to those holding her cells to bring her body together. She tries to assimilate Sephiroth at Nibelheim, but he basically ends up reversing the assimilation. Sephiroth and Jenova form a symbiotic relationship, with Sephiroth as the dominant will although his goal is supplanted with Jenova's.

The various 'Sephiroths' you encounter in the game are Jenova taking his form. When you get to the crater you fight a more complete cluster of Jenova cells, but what's not included are the cells the original Sephiroth has. Sephiroth then totally fuses with Jenova into Bizarro Sephiroth, which is the cocoon for the Safer Sephiroth form.

There are 9 main playable characters in FF7, Red XIII is one of them.

Unless you wanna say the main character is the one the game focuses on the most like Cloud/Squall/etc.

Tifa and Aeri̸̡̝̗͍͔̯̖͙̤͓̺͘ś̠͚̟͚̱͢t̴̴͇̰̱̻̖̝́̕h͙͓̰̮̱̀̕͠ are considering more focal than Red, Cait Sith,Yuffie, et.

Red XIII and Cait Sith are both vital to the story.

this reads like headcanon

Replay the game, nigger. Did you just button mash past everything regarding Reunion?

ラスボス魂
final boss soul

I literally finished the game yesterday
how can you say any of this like it's fact when it's just a bunch of black screen fades as transition between everything in the end sequence

Some characters have more connection to the plot than others in literally any franchise, this doesn't mean a main character isn't a main character.

both of those songs are bangers, you're just objectively wrong

>giant muscle wing

i never understood this

I expect him to be the big reveal. They also confirmed more Shinra so I’m looking forward to Turks.

so this is something that's brought up by Hojo in the northern crater. For whatever reason The bits of jenova are compelled to find each other and regroup. That's what the Reunion is. if the bits of jenova are by themselves they'll just shape-shift into a form that'll allow them to find the other bits. shape-shifting was jenova's Chief ability after all as explained by Ifalna in the Icicle Inn recordings ( why are these optional? Those tapes have critical plot information). If the bits of jenova are inside of a host then they will take over to mind of that host and force them to travel towards where the rest of the bits are gathering. Again going back to the Icicle Inn recordings, Jenova's MO was to take over people while disguised as loved ones and turn them into monsters would do her bidding. these are what those black cloak people were who couldn't speak. this is also why the penultimate final boss is named jenova synthesis. This is the completed Jenova alien without disguising herself.

>defeat the completed jenova
>somehow this means sephiroth fuses with it anyway
that makes no sense

>it 'dies', and feels compelled to reform back with some of its 'body'
makes perfect sense. if jenova's whole purpose is to become whole, then why wouldn't it look for the last piece, sephiroth?

like I said, none of this is shown or implied in the game itself

Gonna be nice to see Reno and Rude again.

What? Who said this? His thing was that he was going to absorb all of the Power and knowledge of the planet to become a god. Jenova didn't really have anything else to offer him at that point. If anything by the end of the game Sephiroth had become the true son of Jenova. His terminal goal is to absorb all of the Mako energy from the planet. That is literally the same goal Jenova had when she got to the planet in the first place. Granted Sephiroth can attach a semi logical reasoning to it, and by semi logical I mean something more in depth than "I'm a hungry parasite who needs to feed." but he still doing the same thing she did.

>Jenova BIRTH
>Jenova LIFE
>Jenova DEATH
>Sephiroth REBIRTH (Bizarro's name in JP)
wtf what do they mean by this???????????????

I expect Rude will be alongside Reno this time for his boss fight given the new combat. That or Reno is really fucking tough.

funny because the word "sephirot" is hebrew for "books"

Reno will probably make up for it by using his triangle attack in the first fight

bizarro sounds cooler imo

Who told them to completely overhaul the genre of the game for the remake? That's not a remake. What the fuck is this shit?

Melbu Frahma

More likely symbolism for meteors/ comets.
