What vidya card games focused on single player do you recommend? I like the idea of winning battles and getting card packs as a form of loot, building your deck as pic related has. It seems the vast majority of trading card games are focused on online/multiplayer/cash shop.
I have tried Slay the Spire but the RNG/roguelite aspect is annoying
the gba yu gi oh world championship are something similar to what you are asking, alternatively hearthstone has some cool pve modes but it has the online-cash shop you seem to dislike. there is also the old ms-dos magic the gathering rpg. I loved all of these 3 games, pick your poison.

Digimon Digital Card Battle If you know what you're doing the AI is pretty easy to exploit, but other than that it's a really neat system and you do get card packs when you win.
Decromancer might be exactly what you're looking for.

Yugioh Over the Nexus is the best one as long as you can fast forward the slow as fuck AI
Leo Richardson
just play the online one

I remember enjoying the Monster Rancher card games as a kid (there's one for GB and one for PSX) but I can't remember if they're actually good or not lol.

There is one answer: Slay the Spire.
Dominic White
They are good, but the lategame strategy boils down to "slowly poke your opponents until they are out of evasion cards".
Oliver Carter
if you're willing to set up the emulator, this is a pretty good one. Albeit pretty hard for a childrens card game.
>slow as fuck >no kick-ass music >can't build custom decks against CPU players >relies on buying actual cards >only nu-Pokémon expansion sets Not that user, but get bent
Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 C.A.R.D. Revolution

The Pokemon TCG was better than the mainline titles. Things like booster packs after winning matches was simply a superior way to get new Pokemon than the dull ordeal that is random battles to find shit in tall grass.

SNK Card Fighters Clash is pretty good.
Ayden Stewart
Yooo real talk how the FUCK am I supposed to read these kanji's?
>Wants to play card games >Hates RNG ????????????????????????????????????
Brody Nguyen
Roguelite RNG shit is just garbage.
Sebastian Lopez
How do you miss the point that badly?
Michael Hill
Does that follow the official rules?

Is this a genre that people want to see more of?

The Tag Force games might be what you are looking for specifically 3,4 and 5 (6 if you know Japanese) They don't really have an end goal, but there is story lines you can follow. I would recommend playing 4 or 5 first since they have more cards and let you do things at your own leisure.
The idea of collecting stuff is an appealing one, specially if it's something you can then use, but most games of the sort (gacha, tcg) are just glorified online casinos for phones.

Slay the spire is good you faggot
David Bailey
it's an interesting niche, I think the whole notion of getting card packs after winning battles can be quite addictive if your card battles are entertaining

It's a shame there isn't many. Making decks in a non-competitive environment means you can get away with more silly ideas ideas making the deck building more fun. Starting with a basic deck and improving it or making a new one altogether is really satisfying.
Too bad Pokemon only made 2 and the new ones from Yugi are mostly battle simulators.
