a) Have you ever made a game? Especially one like Smash Bros where every party has to agree on the content, which includes Nintendo's higher ups as well? There's a reason why Isaac and Sans were only made as Mii Fighters, with the first one being added like that and a AT because the franchise is straight up dead and if GS had gotten a remake/new game, the addition would have made sense in a big regard. Meanwhile, Sans getting a Spirit, a new remixed song and a great model is a great deal for a FUCKING INDIE GAME.

His costume announcement was huge because no one thought he'd ever get in Smash in a million years, not because people genuinely wanted him.
There are a ton of people who like Undertale. Those people want Fallen Human in, not Sans. San does not and never will have a chance of being a playable fighter.

I didn't say that makes her more likely, I said that's why people think she'll get in over Byleth, because they want her to. She's more unique than Byleth and would be a genuinely cool character to add to Smash, so people have tricked themselves into thinking she has a chance over Byleth.
