The different veil types have different drain attacks and parry timings. They've got different stats too of course, and are your armor, visceral weapon, and spell implement all in one.

It plays a lot more different from a Souls game than people let on. If you try to play this like Souls or Bloodborne you will get your shit kicked in. It's a lot faster-paced, and you're not a vampire just for story flare - you NEED to use "drain" attacks.

i frames are ridiculously generous
evading work against certain attacks, like queen knight's spin attack with long windup.
companions are a gamble at best.

i-frames are very generous, against normal enemies. It really feels like you get less against bosses.

Not at all. you barely need to think, I would see queen knight teleporting and would roll immediately as he disappeared and it would dodge his attacks every time, just as a example, and that's with "normal" level roll. you also get so many i-frames that if you time it properly you dodge the entirety of the spin attack that has hitboxes during all of it.

Parries are about strategy, not reaction. Don't ever ever ever try to parry as a reaction. Bait an easy to parry attack and parry it for big damage and ichor replenishment. Dodge and block all other attacks. Mostly dodge and really only block if you have a 2-handed weapon.
