I always miss at least half the lame dialogue in these games because the exposition and other voice files play while I'm in the middle of gunfights and are drowned out by the effects

It's a game with story telling elements. I don't think it warranted a 30+ points deduction. But maybe the reviewer just can't stomach the writing from main quests and side quests and just, “Fuck it this game sucks ass.” and just give the game a score that fits his feelings regarding the game.
