If this is an Outbreak Reboot/Remake whatever...there's no way that it will be like the original ones, puzzles and backtracking will be removed, there's no excuse to have them today in a co-op game because they want to appeal to a wider audience.

It's a miracle that something like REmake 2 exist, with classic elements from the original, but I have a sense that this Project Resistance isn't going to be like that, and apart from that if it's good it will change again the spirit of the saga.

No because they've consistently shown that they don't care about their fans, just the illusion of it. They did it to MHW. They did it to DMC5. They did it to RE2make by going OTS when it was the perfect time to go back to basics. Even then they failed to add a good A-B scenario system i.e. the thing RE2 added on from RE1. The RE Engine is also really ugly so I have no hope.

My hopes are very low. But I'm curious to see what's next after "scary freakhouse Outlast game".
What are they going to do with the series at its current state.

capcom has pretty much been carrying this past year thanks to their redemption arc, cautiously optimistic

People threw the same fits when they showed claires face in re2 remake and no fixed cameras
they also did it for the whole of re7 and it being 1st person with no zombies
you cant change how people act, they all just spew out garbage constantly and bandwagon
half of these degenerates probably started with re4 anyway

Watching through the trailer again, they show a screen with "Mission timer" counting down from 5 minutes quite a lot, so I don't think it's going to be scenarios ala Outbreak or L4D

When they released REmake 2 and it turned out to be really good despite some minor criticism Capcom gave me hope that I'd be hyped for games again. After seeing info about this new RE I'm scared that they just kept my hopes alive to keep stomping them for longer.

No, all they had to do was port Outbreak File 1 and 2 onto Steam and allow classic PC multiplayer server hosting so they don't need to do shit. The cost of the work required for porting the game would probably be counted in the thousands of dollars, not even tens of thousands, the game would sell like hotcakes and have zero maintenance costs.
