Not entirely true for FE3H, theres a lot of translation shenanigans with tea party lines just completely being translated wrong. Also just last night i noticed that one of manuela's level up lines is translated as "getting stronger every day" when the actual line is something like "guys like strong women right?"

We don´t know, the trailer showed the censored version of Aversa´s cutscene, but the japanese site shows the Tsubasa´s uncesored idol outfit.

Maybe some things remain censored while others don´t, or maybe they used the censored version only for the direct.

Besides the censorship, the quality of the localization is pretty good. They handled some of the "untranslateable" stuff pretty damn well in fact.

Well, Avex, the music company was really only interested in the VA's singing the musics for shows and karaokes. But they needed to package into something to market better, so they paid for a game around it.
They got all they wanted from merchandising, even if the sales for the games were bad by Wii U standards.

I get where he's coming from at least in terms of people trumping up what was censored. There's a bizarre amount of people who think that the chapter has a bunch of criticism of gravure idols that was cut.

The chapter was defanged. It went from being "kind of edgy" to being "totally safe". Tsubasa's fear of wearing a trendy costume is laughably absurd and ruins her development in this chapter.
Overall, the game almost certainly has more censorship than any other major release in years and the large majority of it is completely pointless and uncalled for.
The game deserves all the hate it gets for this.

It doesn't impact the plot. Nothing about his perversion relates to the motivations of the main cast. While I still dislike it and would prefer the adult tones remain, it's not as bad as a motivating force behind the actions of the leading lady being neutered.
Imagine if someone was offended by Princess Peach being kidnapped by Bowser, so they just cut that out, and replace it with nothing. She isn't kidnapped. Now Mario just bing bing wahoos over the stages because... they are there?
And I'll stress this again one extra time. I dislike both, but XB2 is less of a problem to its storytelling.
