So they haven't? Also didn't they learn from the GTA V shitshow where they tried to come down hard on mods?

A free version will cripple their sales, They are going to release a remaster themselves

>Never ever

Never ever

Red Dead 2’s not making enough money for you huh?

I take it back. They killed the Liberty city in V mod for no good reason.

Rockstars always been cunts and uppity when it comes to their IP. Also RDR was coded in spaghetti. It'll never come out on PC.

Same reason Square Enix killed the chrono trigge remake. It's the incredibly greedy line of thinking that is "Well we may not have plans to make this now, but maybe we will someday and this would hurt our sales if it we ever did" See if they let the projects finish and get released they are on the internet, there is no removing them. On top of that even if they did try to remove them when they did sell their hypothetical release/remake they would face backlash at the same time they are trying to sell something. Better (from a legal and business perspective) to nip it in the butt right away. What I don't get is why these projects always feel the need to have a way to donate to them, if they didn't then the legal ground they are on would be much more sound. It's already been ruled that mods are legally protected if you aren't collecting money.

>Yea Forums will never understand that copyright law requires you to protect the rights by legal means or risk losing them completely

Fuck off strauss

how ironic, since you don't have to do that

Attached: 2019-03-30 16.54.05.jpg (198x224, 40K)

No it doesn't. The only thing at risk is genericization of TRADEMARKS i.e. xerox, kleenex, hoover, etc.

>PS3 and 360 emulators are making progress
>cant sue the emulator devs
>cant stop the spread of the ISOs
>instead go and attack modders who make texture replacements
what petty cunts

this only applies to trademarks, not copyrights

>RDR was coded in spaghetti. It'll never come out on PC
I mean, It would of if Take Jew didn't step in. They were making progress despite the spaghetti code.
I agree 100%. It's greed. Modders should know better to keep their shit under raps until they release a version, Possibly make it open source as a fail safe too.

Pretty much this.

Is it a real takedown or is it like those "real" Nintendo ones?

Incorrect. In fact, not only do you not have to defend your copyright, you don't even have to petition the government for it. People register their copyrights to make legal battles simpler but if you date an original work in a semi permanent way (ie having the date in the credits or opening splash screen) you are legally guaranteed copyright over it in the US. No need to do anything else. You use to have to also make sure you put that little c in a circle next to the date but you don't even have to do that anymore.

Make an official statement that all your work has been stolen by russian hackers and continue working on the project under IvanHaxxor

I think the issue is realistically most people will buckle from legal threats from a big corporation whether or not the cease and desist has any legal ground.

>from a big corporation
That's the thing, some of these aren't even from the companies themselves.

The Nintendo ones definitely are dude. Nintendo is ravenous about that shit. This is the same company that first tried to shut down Let's Plays and then tried to get them to give Nintendo a 1/3 cut which no other studio had ever done. The Square Enix one was certainly real too because SE talked about it. Do you have any actual proof of a C&D being fake or is it just your tinfoil hat theory?

>The Nintendo ones definitely are dude
They most certainly aren't.
sankakucomplex.com/2019/08/08/nintendo-dmcas-sankaku-complex-for-doujin-lewds/

>shitkakukomplex

At least we know you're just shitposting at this point.

Never heard of that site first of all so I have no clue if it is credible. Second we were talking about video game projects dude, (I couldn't give a fuck about doujins if you paid me) things like the Super Metroid remake which yes absolutely were Nintendo.

pc gamers aren't entitled to red dead redemption. Want to play it? Buy a Playstation.

So is there a exact reason on why Take Two denies the PC release of RDR? or are they simply want to act like cunts because whatever?
Because I don't really see a point why it wouldn't release on PC and make a fuck ton of profits for both Rockstar and Take Two. hell, even the work on a port itself shouldn't cost a lot.

Attached: 1531178247487.jpg (777x704, 57K)

>Second we were talking about video game projects dude
Maybe you should actually read it because then you would know that the person who sent that DMCA are the same people who took down games like AM2R.

>PC remaster
>it's just emulated console version that requires NASA computer
it's fucking nothing, Rockstar should do a proper remake themselves, they have more than enough resources

>never heard of sankaku
how long have you been on the internet, or even Yea Forums

OK so that assures me your source is not reputable because Nintendo have pretty much confirmed that was them. Now that I have read it I see that they don't have any proof either, it's all tinfoil hat theory crafting.

>we were talking about video game projects dude
Not him but
>Further research easily surfaces instances where this email address has been used to take down fan games on several occasions and has even been spotted targeting Twitter avatars
You guys should actually read what's being given to you.

>Rockstars always been cunts and uppity when it comes to their IP
You mean Take-Two.
Rockstar were the ones who stepped in when Take-Two went around sending C&Ds to mod developers for GTA V.

hahahahaahah. PC mustards BTFO again.

>Nintendo have pretty much confirmed that was them.
They've literally never talked about any of these takedowns.
>Now that I have read it
Why even try and lie about reading it?
>The email address used, “[email protected]”, is a completely different domain to Nintendo’s actual domain, “nintendo.com”
>“mm-nintendo.com” simply redirects to “nintendo.com”, in the attempt to make it seem related to Nintendo’s legitimate domain, but such a redirect can be trivially configured by any third party site
>The WHOIS and other DNS information for the two domains are also completely different, the fraudulent domain having only been active since 2013, being held by a completely different registrar with different domain settings, etc.
>The fraudulent domain’s DNS information includes only two records of note – an entry redirecting email to Google’s email servers, indicating the perpetrator likely used Gmail or Gsuite together with their fake domain, and a web server serving a redirect to “nintendo.com”
>The IP address of this web server – 72.52.10.14 – is simply a virtual instance in a cloud, a notorious technique of hackers and spammers, and has no relation to any official Nintendo networks

Not everyone cares enough about porn doujins to visit sites that write articles about them. I know that's hard for someone like you to understand.
I have read it now and it was a complete waste of time. I remain no more convinced that it isn't a shitty click bait site that is happy to publish unsubstantiated rumors and tinfoil hat theories. Browsing their other articles confirmed exactly that. Half their articles use random twitter posts as sources. Sorry I don't consider something a valid source it's articles are half twitter screencaps with the author making fun of what the person is saying. That does not reflect well on a publication.

The fuck is wrong with take-two...

I've heard of couple reasons that gel together nicely
1) 2hard2do - game is a mess from technical point, so porting it to PC would be time consuming and expensive
2) muh piracy - the usual, adds to the first point, making it unprofitable in take-two's eyes.

KEKED AGAIN AHAHAHAHAHAHA

Attached: 1540161346148.jpg (948x521, 215K)

Right and I don' believe I can trust a thing that website says because they write articles filled with twitter sceencaps.

so the answer is you haven't been here long then
stop talking about things you have no knowledge of

He doesn’t believe you because it’s not a big news website filled with buzzwords

Been here for years my man, literally never heard of that site and I can see why the more I look at it. Like I said, articles filled with 20 twitter screencaps are not written by intelligent individuals whose detective skills I trust.

Holy shit, the PC seethe is real. Get fucked, you free-loading scum. Buy a PS3 and a copy of RDR for dirt cheap if you want to play the game, fucking idiot.

Attached: 1481012584857.png (330x319, 178K)

you realize that this is about a fan port of the first game, right?
the second is still coming to PC.

>coded in spaghetti
Isn't that a good thing?

Attached: 1549476996397.gif (140x140, 68K)

>Get the worst version of the game
Xbox one enhanced or fuck off

>Right and I don' believe I can trust a thing that website says
You can literally check it yourself.
Oh and here's a link that was in there relating to games taken down by that same group
archive.fo/FqYwG
If you look you'll see that it isn't a twitter account.

Maybe 10 years later

...

>He still thinks Rockstar are going to waste their time on a port for a platform notorious for pirating and stealing games

Modding should be a crime in my opinion. I would be angry too of some fat retard neckbeard removed my hard work and swapped out characters with some anime bullshit. If you dislike something that much that you feel the need to mod then make your own fucking game.

Only if you're a mario fan.

I think its more that it proves him wrong than anything else.
That or he's somehow related to these fake claims

>literally never heard of that site
You've never heard of a site everyone here uses?

>If you look you'll see that it isn't a twitter account.
Yeah I don't think you understood my point. I looked at other articles on the same site and most of them were composed half of twitter screencaps. I am done looking at sources you give me. You got down my throat for not reading what looked like a joke of an article and then I not only read it but looked into your source more and found it to be the laughable internet equivalent of something like the National Inquirer. Their sources are either twitter or the authors own detective skills which as I have said, I don't trust given the type of website they write for. The article you posted doesn't source twitter but many of their other articles do which for me calls into question the trustworthiness of the site in general. He says the DNS information is different but I don't know that he's correct and I question that he is because I question his credibility in general.

>brag on the internet that you're messing with a big company's IP and expose yourself enough so that anyone can find your name and address
>"oh no, why am i getting cease and desist letters"

every
single
fucking
time

maybe if these modders stopped being attentionwhores they'd get away with their projects, you cant get shut down if nobody knows what youre doing until its finished

Stay mad you fuck. It's optional, its for fun and no one is really getting hurt by it. You bought the game and you have the right to mod the game since you own it.

>maybe if these modders stopped being attentionwhores they'd get away with their projects
“Pride cometh before the fall”

>then I not only read it
You haven't read a lick of it hence why you aren't even trying to refute what's in it. All you're doing now is going on a rant about how they're wrong.

Correct. Looks like your assumption that everyone uses it is completely wrong. Like I said earlier, I know it's hard for you to comprehend that not everyone on this site cares so much about porn doujins that they go on sites that write articles about them but it is true. Not every one has the unhealthy obsession with anime that you do buddy, especially considering this isn't Yea Forums

>He says the DNS information is different but I don't know that he's correct
user, you can check that yourself right now. If it's wrong then prove it instead of whining like a baby.

>NOOO YOU CAN'T MAKE NEW TEXTURES NOOO

>refuse to port it to PC
>someone else does it on his spare time
>deny that too

Attached: 1560219551846.png (500x300, 65K)

>Looks like your assumption that everyone uses it is completely wrong.
Or, and this is way more likely, you haven't been here long enough to know what it is.

its ok, we already played that game, no need to continuously release remasters, just work on new games

>Brazenly steal content from a big company
>Attempt to reproduce it on a platform for which it was not intended
>NOOOOOOOO WHY AM I BEING SUED?!

PC tards are the ultimate brainlets. Get. A. Fucking. PS3...

Attached: 1565199113479.png (785x1000, 261K)

I guess they really wanted that spaghetti western feel

There's no way to refute hearsay. The burden of proof is on and the article in question. For example how about you or the article actually show what they claim is conflicting DNS information. That would be actual proof but the website merely claims it exists, it contains 0 evidence that it does.

I guarantee I have been using this site longer than you. I would be very hard for you to have been here longer than me. Again, not everyone on Yea Forums has an unhealthy obsession with anime, I think you have spent too much time on Yea Forums.

Yeah they would never do that.

Attached: 8569046548930.jpg (689x915, 71K)

CARLOS!

>I guarantee I have been using this site longer than you.
Not him, but it's extremely obvious that you haven't.
I'm going to hazard a guess and say that you're a 19 year old /pol/ crossboarder who came to Yea Forums some time around last year, like most modern /pol/ crossboarders.

>buy our overpriced box of outdated tech
nah

Attached: piratechad.png (976x658, 251K)

>There's no way to refute hearsay
You can literally double check the information in that link. If it doesn't match then you've refuted it, it's as simple as that.

>I would be very hard for you to have been here longer than me
Fine, how long have you been here then?

the fact that you don't even know what sankaku is about is the funniest part about your trolling

>Again, not everyone on Yea Forums has an unhealthy obsession with anime
>implying Sankaku is only for anime
Keep digging that hole.

>f-fucking peeseas
>g-go buy a ShitStainsion3
Annuda proof that Yea Forumsgaf exist. RDR is on 360, 360 was hacked very early in its lifecycle so piracy is irrelevant here.

NEVER EVER

This is why if you are doing something like this. YOU STFU till it is done. Don't brag on discord don't brag on twitter. Brag in places like here. If they have 0 idea who you are they cannot DMCA you. But because most faggots want the fucking E fame, they brag and put their real names all over it.

Who cares?
Is just a boring Hollywood game.

Even worse is the cunts who never finish their mods because "I have a life you know."

Attached: 1452221334867.jpg (720x602, 40K)

>The best game of the last generation
>boring Hollywood game

Holy fucking cope, you PC tards really missed out

the first 1/3 of the game is a tutorial, it fucking sucks dick

Attached: this is you.jpg (708x800, 79K)

What you own is a licence to play the game.

This. Same with all the ass creed games. They fucking blow.

This is why you don't go full retard and announce something like this until it's finished and you can release it. Because at that point people will always be able to reupload it and it's too late to C&D.

>spaghetti code
You have no idea what you're talking about.

>but it's okay when Nintendo does it

this
I can't judge whether or not they did right cause I'm not caught up on it, but most of the time when shit like this gets c&d'd it's because the devs are being dumb or just plain greedy about it. Like advertising on twitter and shit or blasting their patreon everywhere.

>doesn't understand the distinction between copyright and trademark
>trying to lecture anyone

goodbye tard

This will never stop being relevant:
