You know today's indie 8-bit/16-bit video games? I'm very jealous of them, how good they are, how smooth their animations are, how non-bullshit they are.

Why couldn't we have NES games with good controls and why couldn't we have NES games with ideas like Kingdom?

I have a problem not just with video games, but with a lot of mediums. I hate cartoons and tv shows with shit writing, I constantly compare the writing and atmosphere to artistic movies and it comes off as jarring.
Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Xmen TAS and The Last Airbender are watered down severely compared to well done movies.
Yet they are praised to heavens because 90% of the shows are trash from the 70,80s which are blatant insults like those 30s movies stuck in Yea Forums mode. TV shows especially are an insult.

I originally had the mindset that people do things badly in a conscious way, and if they put effort they could easily create good things.
But unfortunately I've learned that the forced acting and insultingly bad writing is genuinely their best, writers who write stereotypes and incorrigible stupid characters are stereotypes and stupid themselves.
