i was thinking about that the other day desu
i used to enjoy playing it even though it's quite difficult (picture city is the farthest i've ever gone)
the environment and ambience was a huge part of it, but i do think in the end it was the gameplay that kept bringing me, as well as that feeling that maybe this time, i'll finally beat it

I thought it was ok but not that great. It's pretty slow and heavy, which isn't inherently bad but I don't think it worked here. 2 and 3 are great and Oranges was a better 2D platformer.

i am still ass mad to this day that they ditched the rayman 4 development just to create a literal party game for the wii
