Why did they use caps as currency in the institute?

Why did they use caps as currency in the institute?

why did you play this game long enough to get to that part?

its not too bad modded

Why do they use money at all?

Didn’t they use kellog to do trading with the outside? Either way the institute should be able to manufacture caps

So the game is set 200 years after the war, why hasn't society been able to rebuild?
There should be mining operations by now, the minting of coins, why do they live like the bombs just fell a few years ago?

fallout 1 had bottlecaps
fallout 2 had fiat currency, unclear who issued it
both still mainly a barter economy gear for gear
fallout 3 went full retard because made by retards for retards

Not interested in discussing how realistic things are in an alternate universe post-apoc game w/ talking mutants and ghouls.

because bethesda are not interested in talking about continuity in a game w/ talking ghouls and mutant

based

the coombrain agrument

>why hasn't society been able to rebuild?
in F4? Because of the Institute
>make peace conference
>nuke it
>make super mutants
>let them loose in the wasteland
>make human like robots
>have them kill everyone in sight
>make exact copies of people above ground
>sow suspicion and fear of their loved ones being replaced by machines

Based Pete shows the drones that play fallout after F2 who is the real retard.

>fallout 2 had fiat currency, unclear who issued it
NCR you twat

1. NCR is just a major town in fallout 2, not an actual republic
2. if you examine you're shekels it just says "money" not dollaridoos issued by them stuck up cunts

I think BGS has some sort of rule saying that they can have at least 5 major details in each game that just makes zero fucking sense

>not an actual republic
lol are you fucking kidding did you even play the game?

Did they trade Kellogs Cornflakes?

it's a city state, like what the greeks had. It's trying to expand, but new reno and vault city are there too, with conflicting interests
no way they have enough power to convince everyone on the west coast to use their currency

What was the point of them replacing people again? What did they do to the originals? What the fuck was the institute doing?

Ok get this overlay the F1 map with F2. NCR capital is on the location Sandy Sands which on the F2 map is in the south but in the F1 map it's up north the actual republic in the times of F2 is down south where you can't go.

>What was the point of them replacing people again?
creating more lifelike synths/secure resources in the surface
>What did they do to the originals?
killed probably
>What the fuck was the institute doing?
a poor man's attempt at "SCIENTISTS, NO NOTION OF RIGHT AND WRONG"

yeah you're right, I've forgotten half the fallout 1 towns are NCR by fallout 2

>a poor man's attempt at recreating the Think Tank
FTFY

well yeah it goes without saying

how do you know how far it is into it if you didn't play it

Well, the Institute says the peace conference failed due to mutual infighting, and that their representative was the only one who made it out alive and was blamed for it.

Considering every other explanation for their fuckups is basically "You wouldn't understand" or some weak attempt to justify it, I'm thinking they might be legit on this one.

because it obviously looks further into the game, retard

In a tightly-knight closed-community, they would have much nicer possessions. In this case, I'm talking about the dining room chairs and tables. If you and 10 of your bros set up a lounge and had nearly infinite funds, would you use shitty metal chairs and tables you'd find in a prison cafeteria? You wouldn't need to, because you wouldn't have to worry about people being careless with them. Everyone would be doing their best to make sure their clubhouse stayed in good shape.

>u-um cause I can just tell user!
shut up, bitch

Might aswell just be 5min into hte game for all you know.
