Why do wow kobolds look like mouse people? Saw some in the a mine near stormtownville, and was surprised they weren't lizards.

They're based on the old concepts of kobolds, the dog-like ones you might also see in anime. Lizard-bolds are actually a fairly recent re-imagining from D&D's 3rd edition in 2000, to tie them in with dragons instead of goblinoids.

With KT and Zandalari I'm kind of stuck. I feel like I've run out of classes since I have an attachment to a few of my old characters and the ones I didn't have already been replaced by the other allied races. I started a KT druid, then decided I'd maybe rather have Zandalari druid instead and got that to 110 first. If either of them could be warlock then that would probably be my choice, but no such luck.

I'm sorry user, I would just start doubling up on classes. Maybe a character per spec at this point?

Which Gnomes are you talking about? Because personally i find Gnomes from Pantheon to be a pretty cool race while I find Gnomes from Warcraft to be lack luster and just plain uncreative.

Short races can be a great race to play as you can lock certain content behind a height limit. Plus since the race is short you're always going to have a combat benefit to being short due to your hitbox being shorter and smaller then the others.

Halflings are awesome, who doesn't love a race of fat farmers that also happen to be OP in the thief role?
Goblins are a good low level enemy for pc's and can be pretty funny (just look at Warhammer Fantasy).
Dwarves fit the niche of being the pragmatic technological engineers in an otherwise fantastical setting.

Gnomes are however, stupid.
They borrow the "cute, short" race from halflings
They borrow the "OP magic users" from elves.
They borrow the "master engineers" from dwarves.
And they even steal the "goofy, humorous" from goblins.

Original flavor dwarves were master miners and craftsmen, not technological engineers. This being adapted to dwarves later in certain settings. In the classic view, gnomes still have a niche as the technological race.

There isn't one iirc. I've seen exactly one, single mod for a shortstack based on the Riekling, and she's got some bad textures.
