DOOM or Mario 64
Stop basing games off of cultural relevance, you need to base them off of Objective Value.
That being said, probably dorf fort
Skyrim...
Minecraft...
UNDERTALE!
im basing them off of the amount of innovation and impact they had
I dont think there is an "objectively" best game of all time, same as food or music
i believe it to be pitfall
Don't Shitpost I'm Scared is the best thing to ever come out of Yea Forums, and among the best to come out of Yea Forums in general.
This one but it's my personal preference.
Well, that's skyrim of course, although I really LOVED fallout 76 too!
You know what? You should really buy both right now to the full price, I mean we don't want poor bethesda to go out of business, do we?
DICK!
the best game in the world is the one that you constantly think about
Warcraft 3
>Very old crowd:PACMAN
>Old crowd: DOOM
>Middle age crowd: TF2 ... no wait COUNTER-STRIKE! UH BOTH!
>Young crowd: GTA 5-NO WAIT, MINECRAFT!
>Very young crowd FORTNITE!
>Me
Well it depends on genre, how could one game hope to be the very best at literally everything.
>Third one never got a video

Metal Gear Solid 3
take the best of each genre and decide which of those games is the most fun, most rewarding, most deserving of being "the best"
I think the reason it works so well is the voices are so close to the original it's almost uncanny, the Time guy here sounds like he's recording in the pantry.
Dark Souls
Might & Magic VII
That's a pretty huge list considering game tipes.
>Singleplayer Shooter
For me, it's probably FEAR, I value good AI and gunplay and it seems to still be the one that did both better than others.
>Multiplayer Shooter
Hard one. For insta kill style shooters probably Siege or Counter Strike, for shooters where fights tend to take longer, TF2 probably, for large scale shooter combat I suppose battlefield is more or less the only choice ... the best one ? Maybe 4?
>Single player RPG
Again, depends on how they play. Turn Based, Squad based, really liked divinity, player + followers, probably fallout 2, third person, open world, witcher 3, for a more enclosed world, probably mass effect 2, decent combat, choices carrying over from previous games is a big +, pleanty of choices to make that can lose or keep people alive, overall pretty good. FPS, quite few games other than bethesda titles that I can think of where it's what I'd call an actual RPG (to me an RPG MUST have branching paths/dialogue choices or at least the ability to choose what/character progression if it doesn't then for me it falls in to another genre ex: Adventure Game with RPG elements) So I suppose I'll give it to Fallout New Vegas although if I had my way I'd combine fallout 4s combat with new vegas for a much better experience. Or that's what I might say if it weren't for deus ex mankind divided for me, so many way to handle situations, NPCs reacting to pretty much all of them, ableto fully lethal/nonlethal the entire thing including the boss, sure it's short compared to other RPGs but I feel like it's a good example for what RPGs should strive to do when it comes to player options
>Multiplayer RPG
I lack sufficient information to say I'd know for sure what the best MP RPG is for any of the rpg styles.
>Racing
Flatout 2 or Burnout paradise, if it doesn't have car destruction, it tends to feel lack luster for me.
Need more space.
STALKER
Almost forgot about squad based fps RPGs, I never really played them, but it's probably a battle between grimrock and heroes of might and magic.
>Simulation
Does anyone even care? I mean, farming simulator/truck simulator/plane simulator, they're all fine and dandy, but this genre is probably best suited for VR, after all, it has "SIMULATION" as it's genre, so the closer to real without you having to get all sweaty or be in danger, the better, right?
>Strategy
For turn based strategy, it's probably X-COM 2 for me, but that might be because I love making characters from other games as my soldiers with mods. For a more larger scale TBS I'd probably pic CIV 5 with community mods that rebalance the game and improve the AI. For RTS I'd probably pick Dawn Of War 2 or Company of Heroes 2. If you like base building tho Red Alert 2 or Dawn of War 1 is probably more your style for the best.
>Building Games
City skylines for large scale. For smaller scale most tycoon games (zoo tycoon for me), for even smaller scale, Minecraft, one guy building things all on his own is pretty small scale.
>Sandbox
Garry's Mod, combine it with knowing how to use the Hammer editor + mods and you've probably got the ultimate in sandbox games.
>Fighting games
For me it's Killer Instinct 4 probably has some of the best feedback for landing shots and combos, that neat AI that learns from fighting you and some great soundtracks. Not heavily in to fighting games tho.
>Adventure games
Honestly this title seems to have lost it's meaning, I personally want this to be stuck to things like point and click adventure games, games with linear stories focused more on the story, like telltale games, speaking of witch The Wolf Among Us, probably never seeing a follow up to it, but ah well.
>Survival games
Kenshi for a more top down/squad based experience. If you want a more heavy build orientation for the survival game Dwarf Fortress. When it comes to first person, Long Dark
OG Dark Souls
The greatest video game sequel of all time.
>Tower defense
Probably Kingdom
>MMO
Not really my cup of tea. But I guess Secret World Legends would be my pick.
>Sports
>Imagine playing sports games.
Aside from my complete lack of interest in sports games, and I will not count racing as a sport game, since racing tends to have it's own category, I guess ... I dunno man, an american football game? How about bloodbowl, can we count bloodbowl? I'm counting it, bloodbowl.
>Moba
Smite for third person, Dota 2 for top down competitive, Leauge for causal, HoTS for a mixed bag.
Some other multiplayers I'm gonna leave blank, on account of me probably not playing them nearly enough to pick one.
based
Streets of Rage 2

Best of Yea Forums musical thread?

Any other answer is simply wrong.
That background is nice
>and impact they had
So cultural relevance?
OST is also nice:

A MOUNTAINS?
Either Mario or Doom
>but this genre is probably best suited for VR, after all, it has "SIMULATION" as it's genre, so the closer to real without you having to get all sweaty or be in danger, the better, right?
Simulators in VR are something else.
I played IL-2 Sturmovik in VR a few nights ago and got into a huge aerial battle which left me sweating afterwards
Bloodborne until something better comes put.
for kid me, this shit was hard as balls
i don't think i ever managed to complete the game
I did it one time when I was younger and I'm pretty sure I got lucky, years later I tried again and I couldn't even get to the spider boss.
