what mod is that? i always loved the minimap simply for showing dead bodies, but every decent mod removes the fucking thing
i just want a high end but vanilla stalker experience with minimal enhanced features just like that screenshot dammit!

Stalker would be terrible as a multiplayer game. It doesn't have to be multiplayer because the AI is pretty solid and the atmosphere is near perfect for the setting.
Most games rely on multiplayer to prolong the game's playtime. Not Stalker. And just imagine the bugs if the whole game was converted to multiplayer. There's a shitty multiplayer option on the Steam version of the game but you cannot have any mods installed and it's basically a cheap deathmatch mode.
There's been some mods to make the game massively multiplayer, it was very ambitious and fell to a load of problems and bugs.

Have any worthwhile mods come out since Call of Chernobyl got released? I completely stopped paying attention to the modding scene since then, bar giving Lost Alpha 2.0 a try for 5mins when it got released before I decided it's probably still horrible and stopped. All I know other than that is that Gunslinger is still Never Ever.

how about with dark souls styled elements where you can message other players but otherwise the game is singleplayer?
playing as a duty member and you leave a message somewhere on a freedom frequency "artifacts ahead! try running through" and its just a tunnel filled with anomalies or something
