I have a ps3 and I honestly can't think of a single game I'd like to play for it. MGS4 was neat I guess but I only hold onto my ps3 for the incredible off chance that I invite a girl over and she brings a bluray movie or something.

This. My pre-owned PS3 Slim works great but had to buy a new DS3 after roughly 100 hours of use because the inputs started failing and pressing themselves randomly.

My PS3 controller worked great for a good 10 years until the right trigger just up and fell thebfuck in and then it started a cascade effect where the face buttons fell out too.

Yes. The PS3 is great.

Looked it up, using tape to fix the foam not making proper contact after extensive use. Didnt feel confident enough to open the controller and heard the fix was not definitive in some cases.

My experience with mgs was pretty much the exact same. Bought the fat ps3 that came packaged with mgs4 way back when, ended up playing through it not knowing a single thing about mgs since the ps3 was my first sony console and I never had a chance to play any of the other ones. Fucking loved it for the gameplay, put a ton of time into fucking around with it over and over again, but eventually got curious about how the story tied into the other games so I went back and replayed 1-3 then 4 again. Playing the MGS games in a row is a great fucking experience and you're right, I can't think of many other franchises with so many emotional highs and lows as a rollercoaster when you're playing them
