Have you ever dropped a game because of its fast travel system?
Have you ever dropped a game because of its fast travel system?
no lol
100%ing RDR2 almost made me drop it. Traversing the world gets to be a colossal pain in the ass since fast travel points are scarce.
I used those things in St paul on Saturday, those things are pretty fun. 15 dollars however for like 3-4 hours of use is bullshit, though. Not to mention they only go like 15 mph. If you're supposed to ride in the bike lane, shouldn't they go a little faster?
Skyrim.
>Traversing the world gets to be a colossal pain in the ass
This.
I normally just turn up a podcast or youtube on another screen just to bear with it.
they might go faster if people didnt ride them among pedestrians but its fucked now and forever
Adult guys use these in public and see no problem...
Why is public transportation in America so shit?
>Like lime Scooters so much you buy your own scooter
Anyone else do this?
Prevalence of stretched-out suburban areas. European cities are denser, so they naturally have more developed public transit.
Literally American car companies lobbying against public transport. In some cases they would buy municipal tram or bus companies just to run them terribly and turn people against public transport.
fast travel is so fucking reddit
It's 10 dollars an hour around my area, so everyone including strangers just exchange user codes for extra time, 30 minutes per person
Some of my friends actually liked these so much that they bought a Xiaomi scooter
I prefer having an e-bike tho
>started out at $9 an hour
>use them all the time because public transport is shit
>now $20 an hour
>have to back to adding an extra 30 minutes to my commute
Shit sucks man
Theres some of those things where I live, but I've never gotten on one of them. They look like run down pieces of crap that are going to break down in you get on it. Come to think of it, I've never actually seen anyone ridding those scooters at all.
I drop games without a fast travel system cause I value my time
fast travel kills games. if lack of fast travel makes you dislike a game, you play it too often.
>turn off the game console
>mfw I throw these in water.
Have you ever thought about buying a motorcycle for your daily commute? Buy a good cheap ninja 250 or whatever for $2000, and I'll be a good investment to get you to work and back. I used to do public transportation everyday, but I got my motorcycle and everything changed. I cut my commute by an hour, tank fills in like 8 bucks for a week, and pay yearly $700 in insurance.
Why didn't they just buy them and run them competently and have another income stream?
Only too extensive fast travel and super precise objective pointers. Without any fast travel at all and only random generated events occuring on the same road you've gone past 10 times before a lack of fast travel will hamper me from playing as I like because I'll avoid going vast distances.
Seems like a bad game design and a huge flaw with open world games. I prefer a more flowing game. Even if that means backtracking, I should have a novel reason as to why I should in the first place.
That's why it's mitigated by fast travel and how games that flow well aren't bloody open world. I think open world is overrated but very enticing until the seams of illusion start to tear.
That's the bad design though. It takes away from the experience to just say that your character traveled a large distance instantly.
So in regards to the original post of this thread, fast travel usually makes me not want to play that game/makes me more likely to not load it up a second time. Sometimes I will tolerate it, just depends. But I've never enjoyed the feature except maybe in older Pokemon games.
No, I usually drop them because I'm clumsy
Why do I keep seeing these evrywhere?
Fuck you stupid fucking faggots riding these on the sidewalk in Baltimore. Next time one of you idiots drives up behind me and beeps for me to get out of the way of your MOTOR VEHICLE on the PEDESTRIAN SIDEWALK I'm going to feign deafness or just dropkick you off of it.
based
>Mfw seen on in a tree
>seen on standing up right on a trash can
>seen on on the roof of a dorm
Why isn't there places to park these fuckers? They'll end up like the free ride green bikes. The red bikes have kiosks and service men to fix them. They're doing it right.
I see these things all over my city and the bikes. Fuck they're ugly.
>using shit scooters
These things litter my fucking city and make it look trashy. I fucking hate them so much
Because the US is far bigger than any European country that it would cost a ridiculous amount of money to gain access to various areas (Look at how the Californian train project got completely messed up and over budget almost immediately), it's far easier and you have far more freedom in getting where you need with a car than a bus or a train, you would have to spend more billions potentially trillions in bringing the old rails into the modern age and fixing various infrastructures like bridges to support this, people already barely use them enough to justify the cost (The CTA in Chicago can barely keep the trains running properly because the amount of people who use it just barely sustainable), they're dens of homeless people or drug addicts so enjoy having to deal with that, you constantly have to make stops at places where gang members live, and they're also dens of crime.
chicago.suntimes.com
chicago.cbslocal.com
Look at how recent these are for Chicago.
What's that brah? You wanna warp to a certain location? Nah brah. CHOO CHOOOOOO
Because our states alone are bigger than your country
So do people leave these things in middle of road in other countries or is this just Finland problem?
Who's the fuckwit that came up with these scooter shits so I can knock that cunt out?
Based, fuck scooter riders, I love knowing some poof riding one of those is behind me and cant get past, eat shit. This must be how people riding bikes on the road feel, but not as sore in the ass.
Are they back again?
I remember scooters being big in the early 2000s.
The rivers of Portland were filled with these scooters
that makes way more sense, considering running a public transportation company to the ground costs a lot of money and it's only limited to people in that city/town, so you're definitely not getting a good RoI on that
