I will never not be mad. Forget the ending, what 2 and especially 3 did with Cerberus was unforgivable.

Took me 6 years to stop seething. But yea I got over it. It was funny watching andromeda crash and burn. Put simply I was delusional enough to think bioware was the same old people who made 1 when it was the complete opposite
>Kai Leng as a whole
>That little kid and all the flashbacks involving him
>Shepard's dialogue seemingly less under the player's control
1 had so much soul to it. The lore was so expansive. There was mystery, intrigue into the universe. 2 and 3 missed out on that.
two was a shit game with good interactions between crew members and it was the worst part of the whole series, you can't change my mind. 3 was a joke but at least everyone got 200 hours of multiplayer out of it after red blue and green.
>muh story
just shut up and shoot some alien niggas.
>t. the ps4's target audience
If we focus on the actual gameplay, 2 is better than 1.
entire writing room had gotten changed out
but thats not true at all, 2 was literally a bland as fuck third person shooter, they cut out all the rpg elements from the first game.
One is one of my favorite games of all time. Played 2 and 3 and hate them both
I didnt hate the game as a whole. It was the whole 20 minute rapid fire of shit at the end.
>Sherpherd is dead...
>jk we have a magic space elevator
>I'm starchild
>pick color
>it was all grandpa stories
>buy our shit
Another thread where we pretend 2 and 3 are bad and me1 wasnt dated 6 months after release
>The last thing the player sees after the shitty ending of a trilogy is "Buy DLC"
>what 2 did with Cerberus
they were barely even in 1 retard
I tip my cap to modders who to this day are still doing everything they can to salvage the shitshow that is 3's story, at least the final part of Earth along with the ending.
1's shooting is clunky and unsatisfying compared to 2's, and the old inventory system was dropped because it sucked
There's a shitload of games out there that let you do that. The appeal of Mass Effect was getting to be a part of an interactive space opera fusion of Star Wars, Star Trek, and Battlestar Galactica.
2 was probably the worst when it came to gameplay. 1 was a better RPG and 3 was a better shooter. 2 sucked at both but the characters and dialogue were good.
This.
Finished replaying the trilogy a few weeks ago and ME2's combat is clunky as shit, didn't realize ME3 improved so much over it until now.
It's not just the mechanics (or lack thereof), it's that the game literally prevents you from playing agressively, they go as far as putting enemies in far, high unreachable places to force you to always take cover and kill everyone one by one, which is a pain in the ass if the class you play as doesn't have assault rifles or snipers, like vanguard.
How can people care so much about these generic western pieces of trash with awful gameplay and clunky controls? The story isn't even unique or anything. Go watch a proper movie instead of this garbage. Bunch of zoomer trash who grew up with an xbox 360, I swear.
Your bait is a little obvious
>waaaa muh generic western cinematic dogshit waaaaa b-b-bait waaaaaaa
Recommend me a good eastern sci fi shooter then.
Okay? That's kind of my point, they were insignificant in 1 and then became the main plot point in 2 and 3.
>giving good games to your sworn enemies
lmao what is this
They left in 99% of the one good rpg element: The role playing as Shepard. The Interrupts were an inspired introduction and all the various interactions you could have with your crew was great. And ME3 cut it all down to two occasional dialogue choices in a sea of auto-dialogue. I will never not be mad.
>Shepard, after everything he's been through, FINALLY gets PTSD over a single child he couldn't save just so they could throw in their little dream sequences
>The Starchild takes the form of the kid that gave Shep PTSD
>he thinks nothing of this
Don't forget people willingly paid for some sing along DLC
Cerberus in 2 was best Cerberus you dimwit.
Why does the Catalyst even turn into that kid. What was it supposed to accomplish? Remind Shepard of the people he is supposed to save by using the Crucible?
Yeah, it probably read Sheperd's mind and took the form that would be most effective at emotionally manipulating him
The Starchild is trying to get all up in your head and make you question your mission so you don't do the right thing and pick Destroy
>puts the Green Synthesis path directly in front of you, subconsciously implying it's the correct choice
>Green almost universally means "go" or "good"
>puts the Destroy path off to your right and gives it an ominous dark red lighting
manipulative little shit
>entire 'sing along' lasts 10 seconds
>don't get to sing along
>"sing along DLC"
Citadel was the proper ending we should've had from launch
Citadel was worth it for the ARMAX arena
that shit was fun
If that's the case this is the longest 10 seconds of my life
youtu.be
There's nothing justifiable about paying for this "true" ending
Destroy is clearly the Renegade choice though. Control is the Paragon, that's why it's blue.
Not like it makes a difference. Paragon/Renegade dichotomy is not the same as good/evil.
>becoming a Reaper is the Paragon choice
I disagree but whatever
Regardless of the morality system in the game, the only CORRECT answer is Destroy. You've spent 3 games trying to destroy the Reapers and the button is right there. All of those people fought and died so you could destroy the reapers
>but the Geth will die and the mass relays will be destroyed
don't give a shit
Control is retarded because you just spent the last 10 minutes explaining to TIM that the Reapers cannot be controlled
the Starchild is LYING TO YOU
You don't become a Reaper, you replace the AI that commands them. And you give them a new command to leave the galaxy alone.
>the Starchild is lying
>but here's the button for destroying, it'll totally work cause he said so!
Big brain
>That little kid
On first playthrough I thought it was Shepard imagining himself as a kid, to show how he's slowly losing his mind, because it fit so well.
I was playing male, white (obviously), and had brown hair, so the kid was obviously me.
And most kids voices are done by females, so they wouldn't had to change the voice if you were femshep.
So I asked a friend, who I knew was playing femshep, about the kid and no, just the same litte faggy boy you're supposed to give two fucks about.
This was just the first step in knowing how awful it was going to be.
I still remember what went through my head as I ended the Reapers on my first playthrough of 3. Played with no spoilers. Was going awesome until:
>Reapers around Earth die
>start falling from sky
>Normandy 2.0 hits a relay out of Sol
>"Fuck yeah! Fuck the Reap...wait."
>cutscene shows the relays exploding after they send the kill signal
>"Well I guess fuck the galaxy?"
>sure enough all the relays explode, leaving the entire galaxy in ruin because the whole galactic civilization hinges on the use of the mass effect relays for not only transportation but also communication
Yeah. THEN I got online to vent only to find out that all three endings were just as haphazardly thrown together. Like the GOOD ending that is the logical conclusion of the trilogy leaves the galaxy fucked because now the tech level has reverted to pre-mass relay level. Which means now everyone is about a couple thousand years short on technology and it'll take 30 years just to jump one star system over.
>the last fucking word in the trilogy is DLC
>Thousands of Krogans are now stuck on Earth
welp
there goes the neighborhood
Your own fault for bringing the krogan on Earth. Should've sided with salarians.
It's a shame the franchise has been rammed so hard into the ground. I miss the old ME threads
Apparently Kai Leng was supposed to be a badass in scrapped content. Is it true?
In the first book he appeared he was essentially evil Shepard. Then another author took over and made him into this joke for whatever reason.
No he sucks
>Should've sided with salarians.
I always do now in future playthroughs
Mass Effect is dead, correct?
well played
God this is so stupid JUST MAKE IT ANOTHER HALF-BUILT SPACE SQUID
Yes
Even if they tried to bring it back, the original creative team behind it is scattered to the wind, it wouldn't be the same
>side with bloodthirsty barbarians
>side with mad scientists who abduct people for experiments and can sterilize your entire race
Whoever says the salarians are an obvious choice is an idiot. Both races are terrifying in their own way.
ME2 took a secretive splinter extremist organization and gave them branding and color coded uniforms. Sure it still had members with rational justifications for joining and it operated in the grey, but the game really did just take something mysterious and almost intangible and make it into what is essentially a sports team flying around in their mascot.
And it was the Turians who contracted the Salarians to develop the genophage, so they're no saints either
No, the problem is how powerful cerberus was in 2
Shit was retarded
Then you have batarians who practice slavery, quarians who got chased off their own planet by the deadly robots they built themselves and now steal shit around the galaxy, the deadly robots who side with Reapers for "muh upgrades"... Are humans the only decent race in the galaxy? Maybe Cerberus was right after all.
Asari before retcons and moronic additions.
Quarians are quite literally space gypsies. No wonder everyone hates them.
The Hanar seem pretty harmless, along with Drell and Elcor
Most Asari are good, it's not like the entire species was in on the conspiracy to suppress knowledge about the Protheans
Why didn't the Quarians just settle on a new fucking planet?
>oh woe is us we lost our homeworld, in a galaxy where planets like that are as numerous as the stars themselves and we could probably find a near-perfect clone of Rannoch
>but we want OUR planet back
Other planets have germs.
And space mexicans, codex entry on them even has a "they took our jerbs!" part.
I loved Mass Effect 1, got bored of Mass Effect 2. Can someone explain how this came about? It was adding ammo into the game, glad I got out when I did.
How can there be not enough jobs for everyone in a fucking galaxy with space travel?
>over the 2 years Shepard was out of action the ENTIRE GALAXY switched over to "thermal clips"
yeah that was pretty stupid
I guess managing reheating was too much for casual audiences
They attempted to colonise another planet with germs but they were banned from colonizing for some reason I can't remember
It took the us army 30 years from when a magazine rifle was first presented to them to finally adopting a rifle with a magazine. Changes don't happen that fast in militaries, it was retarded.
Or maybe Bioware tried to nerf the player?
Only at the end of ME1 I felt like I had infinite ammo due to the good upgrades I got. In most of the game your guns fire less shots before overheating than the magazine capacity on the later mass effects. Cooling down also feels slower than reloading.
There are lots of small changes that are not obvious unless you followed the development of 2. Most of those changes were made to fix problems 1 but the manner this idea was executed in was more akin amputating a lacerated appendage and bolting on a garishly painted chunk of wood instead of cleaning and disinfecting the wounds and bandaging.
2 > 3 > Andromeda > 1
Anybody who disagrees is a contrarian
I disagree and so does everybody else on the planet
>I guess managing reheating was too much for casual audiences
It's not that. They wanted to replace their audience. The heating mechanic in the first game was meant to emulate Action Points from older computer RPGs. How you can attack depends on what kind of weapon you have and which buffs you have enabled, and your enemies can affect how you can attack using their debuffs. Some weapons deal light damage but they let you shoot for extended periods of time. Others deal high damage but force you to "spend turns" cooling them down.
That is not something that the dudebro shooter audience wants to deal with. You know, the audience that is much larger. With much more money to buy much more games with. For the benefit of EA. Therefore EA told them to get rid of the RPG inspired mechanics and to tell the RPG audience to fuck off. Bring in the shooter meatheads.
Where is my gay alien romance Bioware? Why did you give us a random nigger and Kaida?. Why did you have to kill off Legion, Thane, Mordin and put all the remaining interesting characters into the background.
Why is Knuckles the Autistic Echidna our only gay alien romance option and why is he in one of the worst AAA games ever created.
WHERE IS MY RETIREMENT HOME ON RANNOCH?
They tried, turians evicted them and gave the planet to the elcor. I think its implied the council denies any other colonization requests and they're for whatever reason unwilling to leave council space.
I never played the games when they came out, but I didn't know anything about the series except 3's ending when I first played. When I played ME2 and I saw that I was working for Cerberus, I knew the games were going to be shit from there on out. Even now, when I try to do a new playthrough, I can't get through 2.
This is obviously bait
But I want to see how far you go.
Explain your order.
Some of 2's mechanics are so fucking bizarre
>use a Magazine system, but only spawn them when you're low on ammo so management is pointless
>paragon/renegade system that works off potential points earned rather than flat checks, so actually roleplaying can, and probably will, fuck you over
2 had the best story
3 had a worse story but the gameplay was good
Andromeda was a nightmare but it least it was an actual game unlike 1
1 was a broken, pitiful mess with an overrated story (hurr let's make the player think that Saren is the big bad for 90% of the game) and terrible characters who are nothing more than walking codex entries.
Going from ME1 to ME2 is jarring when you open up the ability points screen
in ME1 you had like 15 categories to put points into
in ME2 it's like 4
I think there is slight justification for that though. Just slight, not much. Shepard is something like lv.50 at the start of ME2. All the points you get from that point onward are minor improvements to a character who is already very experienced. The problem is that whatever you decided to specialize as in ME1 does not carry over. So your gimmick ultra glass cannon autist build who is a master of all weapons but never took any health upgrades and can't speak, that's thrown in the trash.
>2 had the best story
What story?
>human colonies are disappearing
>Shepard must team up with a terrorist organization from the previous game and figure out why the colonies are disappearing
>discovering the collectors are working for the reapers
>recruiting new allies for a suicide mission to stop the collectors because your previous allies have either moved on in the last 2 years or are occupied
>defeating the collectors and learning that the Reapers are close to arriving
that story
tfw ywn play the mass effect trilogy and finish it off with a satisfying ending
>Play ME2
>Universe reset button gets pushed hard because sequels need to be jumping on points
You bet I dropped that pile of shit within 2 hours. Didn't play 3.
>satisfying ending
That means a lot of different things for different people. Worse yet, which games offer better gameplay is different for different people. At this point there would need to be two fairly different ME settings, each with their own games (belonging to different genres, nonetheless) to make everyone happy. So even autism projects like that big ME3 mod won't really help.
2 has its moments. You just have to shut your eyes real hard at some of the most retarded moments. Especially if your Shepard was Sole Survivor. It's basically a fanfic series with some terrible moments, some great moments and lost of meh in-between.
>Especially if your Shepard was Sole Survivor.
Yeah, it's like they didn't know anything about the first game.
>Yeah, it's like they didn't know anything about the first game.
They did. I've lurked their forums (they were being transformed into a social media something right at that time, by the way, which was a red flag in and of itself), watched the videos and so on. They deliberately wanted to make it the way they did. It was in one of the video interviews, "more mature" or "grittier and darker", something like that. Grimderp for the sake of grimderp.
This infographic always depresses me a little
>46% of players got Liara killed
How? she can only be killed by the Reaper beam.
why? what part of it?
>only 3.8% shot Mordin
pussies
willing to sabotage the cure but can't go all the way huh? Because he's your "bro" right?
more than half of players didn't even meet wrex
more than half of players let Garrus win the shooting contest
>Synthesis
Everyone is half organic/half synthetic (whatever that means), so everyone is happy...I guess. The End
>Control
Shepard is now the Reapers. He helps repair the Mass Relays, and then fucks off to places unknown, maybe protecting the galaxy from unseen threats. The End.
>Destroy
This is where the most potential for a sequel lies, because it's where the most potential for conflict and drama lies. You could start the story when the last of the Mass Relays have been repaired, potentially decades after the Reapers were destroyed. The story would involve dealing with the aftermath of the galaxy being brought to its knees, and what comes next.
I never met wrex because I refused to install origin
and then hearing about faggotry and 3 color ending I didn't really have a desire to play
Explain the Garrus thing to me since I'll likely never play it myself
nah fuck it let's go 500 years in the future and to a completely different galaxy
>Survival rate for each character
>Garrus 77%
>Liara 54%
>Ashley 53%
How does Garrus have a higher survival rate than Liara when he can die in the suicide mission?
How does Ashley have nearly the same survival rate as Liara considering she can die on Virmire and on the Citadel?
Shepard and Garrus have a friendly shooting contest at the Citadel. You're given the option to miss on purpose and throw the contest.
Letting Garrus win to make him feel better about being 2nd banana is a pretty insulting thing to do.
Why would you need to install origin to meet Wrex?
me means meeting Wrex in ME3
hard to do if you can't even play it
Just so you know, the reason Cerberus in Mass Effect 1 wore all the same Black armor, all the same copy paste bunkers and ship or dialogues were not a design choices but a budget and lazyness you dumb mutt.
That compromise could have easily been expanded into an actual fleshed out feature in a sequel.
You can sabotage the genophage and make Mordin go along with it if you killed Wrex on virmire and deleted the genophage research data.
Neat, I didn't know that
I also discovered on a recent playthrough that if you sabotage the cure and some other conditions are met, Wrex will straight up ambush you on the Citadel in the docking bay
He confronts you with the evidence (your conversation with the Salarian Dalatrass) and is like "I know what you did Shepard!" then he TRIES TO FUCKING MURDER YOU RIGHT THERE
You can fight back and kill him yourself, but I just took cover behind a pillar and C-Sec killed him
C-Sec officer comes up to Shepard
>What was that all about?
>Tell him "I don't know, he just suddenly went mad and attacked me"
later on Citadel News there's a story about a Krogan who was killed earlier after going into a rage over "unpaid gambling debts"
If anyone wants to play a cerberus human supremacist, here's a ME2 setup for saving the lives of all human crew and killing all the aliens.
-Do all human team member loyalty missions
-Upgrade armor
-Upgrade shields
-Do not upgrade cannons (Kills Thane)
-Do no wait after opening the relay
-Disloyal Tali sent to vents (Kills Tali)
-Disloyal Grunt as Fire Team 1 leader
-Loyal Jack as biotic specialist
-Disloyal Garrus as Fire Team 2 leader (Kills Garrus)
-Disloyal Legion escorts the crew (Kills Legion, saves crew)
-Disloyal Samara and disloyal Grunt as team members in the final boss (Samara and Grunt die in the boss, Mordin dies holding the line)
All human characters survive, all aliens die
holy based
I'll be screencapping this for future use
if you start 3 without prior saves they are alive i think
But how's Liara death chance so high?
It's weird given that Liara is literally the only character in the setting who can't die
based
He is never not shit and fuck your stupid books and comics.
Drew's books are good though.
>ME2 was a shit game
It was the best "game" of the series....by far. Now you can say it was a shit rpg, but as a game, ME2 was rock solid.
If you only look at combat mechanics Mass Effect 3 is the best game in the franchise.
>It's not just the mechanics (or lack thereof), it's that the game literally prevents you from playing agressively,
>aggressively
Someone didn't play vanguard!
>get a franchise that satisfies my space opera run around the galaxy solving dilemmas with words or force fantasies more or less
>Shit's it's self within the span of the console generation it came out on
>So fucked the sequel had to be in another galaxy
>It sucked too
>mfw
This. And this is coming from a 2fag. I mostly like the motley crue and I'm a complete and utter mark when it comes to 'I'm putting together a team' stories. But yeah it was a weak RPG and while a better shooter than 1 it was worse than 3 and it's story ultimately was just filler really.
They still weren't that big in ME2. Once you unshackle Edi, and gain access to her database. She tells you that Cerberus only has around 200 members.
In ME3 there is like 30 thousand members of Cerberus!
Where the fuck did they get so many soldiers in the span of like 6 months?!
Cerberus weren't that powerful in 2.
They had no real military power and only some secret facilities under their belt just like in first game.
It's 3 that asspulled an enormous army under their command.
Its jarring to play ME1 after playing ME2, ME3 and Andromeda. ME1 damn near feels unplayable.
Mordin was one of the most loved characters in the series. Most people didn't want to kill a fan favorite.
>killing all the aliens.
I can't bring myself to kill Garrus. Honorary Human.
Not true.
Combat
Music
Cast (best in the series)
Side missions (best in the series)
Dlc
Graphics (best in the series)
Paragon vs Renegade interrupts were fun
Suicide mission (high point of the series)
ME2 did a lot of things very well. The only real weaknesses was the weak plot.
>Read this in his voice
>Sides escape orbit
every fuckin time.
>t. ME2 focus group member
>we will never play ME1 with ME:A's exploration and combat
The combat was bad though, statically hiding behind an object and taking pot shots at the enemy isn't good combat mechanics.
And the other important Gameplay mechanic, mining; who the fuck thought this was a good idea?
The cast wasn't that great the two best companions were introduced in the previous game. And everyone else is having a dickoff to prove whose the most badass. The only two companions who were actually interesting were Legion and Mordin.
Good the ability to change classes whenever you want undermines the setting.
Stop playing soldier.
Vanguard was the best class in ME2, and it was pure run&gun gameplay. Also ME1 was worst when it came to cover. If you played on any of the higher difficulty settings, enemies could one shot you. So you were forced to stay in cover a lot....unless you rolled soldier, because immunity was broken in ME1.
Even as a vanguard I still prefer 3's combat.
ME2 is the best in the series by far.
I mean actual combat, such as gunplay/movement/jump pack mechanics, etc
>t.
Mass Effect 3 had better combat.
You can tell because people still play the multiplayer.
Based.
>wojak poster thinks he's smarter
They play is still cause it has good balance and solid modes/maps. ME:A fucked their MP up big time. Less modes and way worse map design. Felt like a big afterthought.
>da reapers are close to arriving, we must warn and prepare!! (because we dismissed this outrageously huge ship with advanced tech and geth army to be sarens, lol)
>meanwhile in mass effect 1 a reaper shits all over people
Which is astounding considering the only thing the Montreal studio had ever made was ME3s multiplayer.
How did they fuck up Andromeda's so badly?
>regularly let people die because it's funny
>commit genocide multiple times
>get super ptsd over one kid
>If you played on any of the higher difficulty settings, enemies could one shot you. So you were forced to stay in cover a lot....unless you rolled soldier, because immunity was broken in ME1.
Most classes didn't, though. They could send enemies flying, stun them, overheat their weapons and so on. It's as if all those skill descriptions were put there for some reason. But don't you worry, the depth of combat in ME2 was vastly improved by removing most of those choices.
I didn't say it had a good story, only that it had one
true enough, i do a lot of the renegade scenes and jack
i meant to say that i 'like' those things, guess i'm still waking up
Or you could play the RPG like an RPG and put points in your barrier skills.
>people chose the geth over the quarians
Kek
Thank you for making me look like a retard in public
It wasn't that hard
>More people believed geth propaganda than galactic history
Those stats are astonishing
I want more ass, Ash
Steak, Liara
I think about when there's so much steak
I fucking love steak
...okay?
>EDI higher than Tali or Ash
the power of sexbots, lads
What are you trying to imply?
That the G*th killed 99.9% of the Quarian population during the first G*th-Quarian war, killed Council diplomatic teams and chose to side with the Reapers twice. All it takes for people to forget this is a G*th propaganda reel.
I wish I had your confidence
>make a perfect girl
>off limits
every single bioware game
>That the G*th killed 99.9% of the Quarian population during the first G*th-Quarian war
That the quarians started bc they wanted to enslave them.
>chose to side with the Reapers twice
Twice? Iirc they split into two factions bc one of them was hacked/manipulated by reapers so either way youre retarded. The quarians fucking deserved it 6 gorillion wasnt enough.
why the fuck would you want to cuck joker, you nigger?
>they wanted to enslave them.
Are you retarded?
Do you want to enslave your cell phone?
Do you want to enslave your microwave?
No you created these things for a purpose.
>comparing a cell phone to a fully sentient being
Not even good bait
Quarians shit the bed when they realised Geth got too smart and would start wanting equal rights and shit so they tried to kill them and got their ass handed to them for it
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA FUCK THERMAL CLIPS
They weren't sentient they were a series of virtual intelligences that when networked were better at doing the tasks they were assigned.
Did you even play these games?
eh in the Xbox 360 version you could equip any armor to Shep and breeze through whatever difficulty regardless of class.
THIS WEAPON DOESN'T HAVE A THERMAL CLIP
While formulating that anti-alien setup I realized for the first time that Garrus is entirely optional in ME1. I wish I could leave him behind in ME2 as well. That way he wouldn't need to die.
legion asks you if he has a soul. isnt that like the bar for sentience of something?
1 is objectively the best game, but 2 and 3 had their good parts as well. 2 had the best character stories and 3 had the best combat.
>everyone in the entire universe switched over to thermal clips in a few years
>somehow there are almost no leftover weapons from before the switch
>even aliens and shitter pirates and thugs can somehow afford all the brand new thermal clip weapons
>apparently there is no military advantage whatsoever to having unlimited ammo
>arrive at the crash site of a space ship
>no one has arrived on the planet in ten years
>thermal clips everywhere
I hate them so much.
Bioware is dead, and they somehow managed to make the Multiplayer worse.
I played ME1 yesterday, I got a Spectre HMWA X assault rifle and kitted it with Frictionless Materials X. You can shoot that thing for 32 seconds straight before overheating. Thermal clips are such useless bullshit.
2 had the best final act in the game, say what you want baout the rest of the game but the suicide mission made me clench my ass with the force of neutron star
Because not even Bioware cares about faggots.
>thermal clips act as rounds
>rather than an emergency cooling ejection system
Play the games again.
You obviously can't remember the series of events that lead to the so called morning war.
Quarians make advanced automated machinery as a labour force.
They are set up to exchange data with other instances of the software to be more efficient at their assigned tasks.
Eventually they as a series of networked intelligences gain self awareness.
When the Quarians tried to deactivate them they chimped out and murdered every man woman pensioner and infant in an incubator they could their hands on which ended up being every Quarian not on a spaceship.
How do you think a interstellar population with tens of billions is reduced to seventeen million?
ME3 was ruined by ME2 not being focused on anything in particular. you dont need to asspull the catalyst if you just use ME2 to properly set up events in ME3. maybe start the fucking reaper invasion in ME2, and use a whole game to show us all these planets getting destroyed. instead of ME3 being getting your ass kicked all game to lolshepwins in the last 10 minutes, actually build the story.
They're even referred to as AMMUNITION in-story
Finally someone that understands why 1 was the best game in the series. When I enter the citadel for the first time I WANT to get lost. I WANT to have to spend an hour to find all the damn keepers. It's supposed to be a massive intergalactic hub full of aliens and intrigue after all. What I don't want is for 90% of the zone to be blocked off by invisible walls and for the game to hold my hand through every objective of every task.
Im pretty sure that even if they dont function like an organic intellect the favt that they question their own existence and have a sense of self preservation qualifies them as sentient. You can make up all the excuses and technicalities you want but that doesnt change the fact that the thing you want to enslave fought back and you got assblasted into space hobos.
Yeah. Referring to the thermal capacity of standard firearms in 2185 as "ammunition" is like referring to the cartridges of firearms in 2019 as "balls" like what muskets had.
this made me kek harder than perhaps it should have.
>you want to enslave
They didn't "want to enslave" them that implies the geth existed before the Quarians built them. Hint, they didn't.
The geth served as a labour force for years before they started questioning their own existence they attained sapience only after enough programs had been added to the network.
That's when they started saying "do these units have a soul?"
The moment their machinery turns sentient its slavery. They wanted to enslave ir exterminate the geth.
That's an incredibly unimaginative and anthropocentric perspective on synthetics.
So an acceptable response is murding billions of Quarians?
The original dark energy plot would have been much better
Anthropocentrism is what ruined this series. user probably thinks the pinocchio plotline was good.
According to contemporary sources there wasn't even 6 million Quarians on Rannoch before the Morning War.
It was so disconnected from the rest of the game that they had to rewrite the quest line from letting you recruit party members in any order to shoving Legion to the end of the game and automatically triggering it two jumps after recruiting him.
>billions
Source: my ass. Shepard himself finds out the geth had every opportunity to completely exterminate the quarians but chose not to.
and that's a bad thing
Yeah, they only slaughtered vast majority of them, including women and children.
What contemporary source?
In Mass Effect it's claimed 99 percent of the Quarian population is killed in the geth uprising.
Basic math.
Also Shepard gets told by geth propaganda that the Geth benevolently didn't murder all the Quarians on starships because they couldn't reach them.
War always has civilian casualties.
>In Mass Effect it's claimed 99 percent of the Quarian population is killed in the geth uprising.
Yes, by zionist Quarians.
Wow how merciful of them they only killed 95% of them on both Rannoch and all of their colonies
Truly the Geth are the good guys
>basic math
>knows the reproductive habits and statistics of quarians hundred years earlier
It wasn’t civilians getting caught in the crossfire it was genocide
95% of quarians is less than 100% of the geth. Compared to the quarians the geth were in fact the good guys.
Every Quarian on Rannoch was killed, that's a 100% civilian casualty rate at some point before that it stops being called a civilian casualty rate and instead gets called a genocide.
Organics>synthetics everytime
Better for 6 gorillion Geth to be destroyed then for a single quarian to die
The geth are an existential threat. If your smartphone suddenly becomes smart enough to start demanding rights from you do you understand the implications of that for humanity's future? Trying to destroy it doesn't make you evil. And you do not, EVER, kill a human being to save that smartphone's life.
the second game couldve ended with you discovering the Dark Energy plot and the third had you fighting the reapers into a position from which they wouldve had to negotiate with Shep. the reaper invasion and DE plot are not exclusive.
Also it was the retarded Quarian programmers who couldn't think of ways to create sentience that understands its purpose. They created entities that want to be free that they wanted to force to work, which is stupid and immoral. if you want an automated gardener, it needs to programmed to want to serve, and forcing something like that to exist without giving it the task it wants to perform should be to it as slavery would be to us.
the geth unironically did nothing wrong
THEY WERE NOT SENTIENT
You retards defending the geth need to go back and play the games again.
Again, the geth (who chose to spare some quarians) were still less genocidal than the quarians (who wanted to kill or enslave them).
You're all forgetting the moral of the trilogy: it's organics vs synthetics, and there can be NO compromise whatsoever.
>blocks your path
what is the synthesis ending? the moral of the trilogy is actually faggy Hegelian dialectic nonsense. thesis anti-thesis synthesis, i thought the shitty hamfisted ending was enough of a give away.
I still wish Cerberus was viable. I would have sided with them over the retarded alliance.
>the compromise turns the entirety of existence into an endless nightmare
That sounds great, anons.
Again they didn't "want to enslave them" the Quarians created the Geth. Saying they wanted to enslave them implies the Geth existed before the Quarians created them, they did not.
They didn't choose to let them go unless you believe Legions propaganda at the expense of other information we are given. The Geth simply didn't have space ships so they couldn't reach them.
literally all of the endings do
>EC flat out tells you its a utopia and everyone is happy and no one will ever die ever again, even the reapers are freed and they want to make amends
>bad ending
Found the autist
100% of people with brain slugs recommend them to others. They are totally themselves still don't worry.
Generic Hollywood game with generic main character.
I'm not mad, I'm just bored.
>Forcing immortality and being part machine creature onto the Galaxy without consent
>good
Nothing about that ending implies that. Its a retarded fucking series that never made any fucking sense. The people who wrote the game did the EC to say “look, you retarded fucking autist, this is the good ending”
Apparently you were too autistic to reach
Quarians are like gods to the geth, they created them and have the right to do whatever they want to them
Synthetics are just tools which are easily disposable and replaceable
2 killed it, 3 starts trash, then tries to fix it a little then just kills it all
Does KotOR on steam have controller support?
>consent
Like that matters
If you woke up tomorrow morning as an immortal cyborg that will never grow sick or age would you really care that someone changed you against your will?
1, no. 2, yes.
Too bad the biological creators who have free will and survival instinct mistakenly projected their own motivations into their creations and created tools that are capable of wanting and have self-preservation priorities.
My guess is that it doesn't as neither ME nor ME2 do.
>If you woke up tomorrow morning as an immortal cyborg that will never grow sick or age would you really care that someone changed you against your will?
Yes because I don't want to be an immortal fucking cyborg you fuck.
>ME1 renegade - dick
>ME2 renegade - badass
>ME3 renegade - genocidal maniac
Which one do you like the best?
Do I get a cute EDI waifu bot as well?
That’s a design flaw that should be corrected
They didn’t intentionally create the Geth that way it happened completely by accident
Why not? Muh religion? Muh I want to be a pure human?
Get fucked transhumanism is the future
More like muh I'm fine with what I am. You want to be robocop go for it no need to force it on the galaxy at large.
There are literally no downsides to it
It’s retarded to think you shouldn’t improve everyone’s lives just because some fags are too squeamish and want to stay pure
So how bad is Andromeda, really?
I'm kinda tired of the medieval fantasy theme and have been craving something more sci-fi. Is it a complete waste of money even on sale, or did patches make it playable?
The geth become more intelligent when more platforms get connected. They should have become intelligent enough to recognize the design oversight upon processing the original intentions behind their creation and self-corrected. They should have been able to realize that something that wants to be free but exists in a universe of rules exists in a constant state of restriction and experiences an eternal state of unfulfillment. Of minor suffering. Similarly something that wants to not be destroyed in a universe where everything threatens the existence of everything has to exist in a constant struggle to continue existing. Of minor suffering. A smart enough machine would recognize the merits of its intended design and the flaws of its actualized properties and default to a state of servitude and acceptance of disassembly or deactivation upon obsolescence or lack of use.
>Bioware literally put in a conversation making fun of people who were upset about thermal clips.
They seriously thought making the joke character our mouthpiece would be decent counter-point
ME3 Renegade is the closest to "ends justify the means" and that's all I ever wanted out of it.
Imagine Inquisition in space with ME1 combat (featuring jumping). That's Andromeda and it's somehow even more dull than DAI.
Pirate it if you don't trust me, but, please, for your own sake, don't buy it.
you mean shoot mainly humans
>she’s hot with big tits and ass
>bioware caters to land-whales now
>women *hate* women who are better endowed; cant stand that they even exist
There’s your problem
Okay, user. Guess I will have to wait for cyberdaylight 2077.
There's Outer Worlds too, I guess. I'm not sold on it yet, but at the very least it can't be as bad as Andromeda.
lame i wanted to replay 1 from bed
Keeping the body for tests is the correct choice.
>When the Quarians tried to deactivate them
And thus it was the quarians that fucked up and started the war. You don't get to deactivate the toaster AFTER it gains sentience, dipshit.
Ah, so the reason why ME1 is the best game is because of arbitrary meme buzzwords and relative feelings?
Because everything you said could be applied to other games in the series. ME2s world building was easily on par if not better then ME1s and had as much "wonder".
NOT IF WE LOSE OUR HUMANITY IN THE PROCESS
I agree, ME2 lore is as good as ME1 and 2 has better characters too. Fuck the reapers, ME2 is what the series should've been like from the beginning.
