Why can't zoomers into tank controls? They're missing out on a lot of fun games
Hell yeah
So I count the roses
Yellow, red and white
Don’t dare use my fingers
Many, many roses trap me more at night
Based
its not tank controls its directional
i suppose the aiming is but its not even that bad
waiting for tomorrow for them to announce how they butcher outbreak though
Omg user, your post just sent my nostalgia alarms going off and I randomly remembered the woman speaking in the intro of this game.
Remake when?!
Yea Forums do something!
I always laugh whenever I see people get grabbed by those things, it just happens so fast and due to lag they just suddenly appear in air. Shit is goofy as fuck.
We /v2k/ now?
It's not just a zoomer thing. People whined about tank controls back
with Resident Evil one's release. To answer your question I don't know. It was just a matter of understanding "up" is always relative to your characters direction.
tomorrow it will be announced
Tomorrow.
Agreed, here's another one of those attacks but just ignore the mouse cursor
>that 90% infection rate
>that happy looking face on Nyx's arm
>that fireman
Saved.
Well done.
I don't know where else to ask but
Is it okay to run SH3 at 60 FPS or should I cap the game to 30?
I genuinely hope so but it most likely won't be
A man is only as great as his dreams user.
It will be even better than you expect.
I liked Haunting Ground a lot. Kind of the "Shadow of the Colossus" to an entire generation of survival horror games, especially Capcom's survival horror games and PS2 horror in general.
my life sucks
Haunting Ground, Clock Tower 3, and Rule of Rose
PS2 had some pretty neat autistic horror games with female leads and wild stories
rfq
Siren was classic too. Mission design eventually got pretty dumb, but Forbidden Siren 2 improved everything from the first entry, even though I prefer the story adn aesthetic of Siren 1 more.
It's a shame we don't have too much of that anymore. I was on an RPG Maker Horror binge for a few years playing games with that exact concept.
At least your life isn't shit.
TOMORROW
Please for the love of god don't let this Project REsistance thing suck ass
>mfw it's Outbreak and it's actually good
I hope so, I haven't been this anxious for a game reveal on a while
I need to play Siren 2. No idea why it wasn't released in North America. Guess I better emulate it sometime.
Its literally outbreak 3
I wish it were re:3
>tfw it's Umbrella Corps 2
All we can only hope
>Outbreak 3
>The cast of Outbreak 1-2 is not included
I'm waiting for the pain...
I dunno which is worse, but we're either getting
>Outbreak 3 without the original cast
or
>Outbreak Reboot with the original characters redesigned
Both options kinda scare me
>tfw it's Umbrella Corps 2
What horror games besides resident evil and dino crisis even use tank controls?
this kinda
need more games with multiplayer like this where you aren't always sure where you're allies are / need them to do stuff from a distance
Hopefully these new fucks are just completely new characters with no relation towards any of the old cast and the old cast will be playable through unlockables via skill points, just like the original Outbreak. Essentially they'd be NPC types.
At least redesigned comes with the option of them having their original costumes as extra costumes.
I mostly want Cindy back.
I'd be fine with this, but I really hope they do a port of Outbreak 1+2. Even if Outbreak 3 is completely different.
shenmue
Anybody try to set up deathmatches back in the door or even now that the servers are up and running again?
youtube.com
youtube.com
>back in the door
Fuck, I meant to say back in the day, not door.
I remember having a match where we just had this player blocking the door in an attempt to let zombies kill us. Me and this other player went through an entire process of breaking the doors open and rushing to him. Eventually, the zombies got to him, and me and the other player just shrugged and peacefully played the rest of the scenario as allies just because of the bond we made.
Good game.
you are a fool, user
NEW RE GAME ANNOUCED TOMORROW (OR TODAY) AT THE TOKYO GAME SHOW, GET HYPED!!!!!!!! Looks like it will be a Outbreak reboot
HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!
PROJECT RESISTANCE!
Would've been way more satisfying if you and the other guy shot the doorblocker to death instead.
Not to mention that the outbreak website domain is now blank, similar to what happened with DMC
residenteviloutbreak.com
We're going home anons
It was Very Hard Outbreak, so no guns were available since no one pick Kevin or Mark. All I had was a bug spray at first.
Is it finally over?
Are we finally home at last?
Please I need to know.
With all the RE threads and Outbreak talk, I'm surprised nobody tried to host games.
But the Outbreak family might not be there.
I miss them...
My life is shit without Jim.
fuck this guy.
I've got an account on the obsrv site but I usually just play solo with the shitty AI
Umbrella Corps was fun
Should have have been 50 fucking dollars though
Hopefully if Outbreak is announced, it'll get a better AI. I have never seen brain dead partners of that magnitude.
When you think about it, wouldn't Nyx be the most OP BOW? It's pretty much unkillable and it only dies because it absorbed a Tyrant and ended up inheriting its weakness in return.
back when there wasn't so many games on the market you had to take what you were given and really enjoy the fuck out of it, that means playing a short game for a long fucking time
which is also how you have a chance to build up fond memories through repetition
zoomers are spoiled for choice in a world where every game is barely different in mechanics and controls to learn between each one, they don't have time to develop any attachment to a game let alone even try to devote any time figuring out how to play it if its slightly different or harder than the norm
even "great" games suffer from this, I.E once you've played one souls game, you've played them all (or at least you will never truly struggle with the mechanics again)
games still have the same amount of soul - it's just modern day gaming is so oversaturated you never get time to feel it before the next one comes along, leaving you with an empty feeling - and the opinion that a game is devoid of soul
Lara in the old Tomb Raider games used to control pretty tankily but had the options of jumping and shooting while moving
they haven't made a resident evil battle royale yet
Man, I remember doing a Very Hard run as Jim. Finished that shit with 98.8% zombification meter. I was fucking shaking.
Tank controls suck bro, if I push left my character should go left. MGS had fixed camra angles AND good controls, so there's no excuse to not have both.
Didn't Outbreak NOT have tank controls? I could have sworn it was a directional control game.
Soon brother!
Just like, press up to move forward brah, so easy brah, just like smashing pussy is easy amirite?
Outbreak had tank controls via dpad and free directional movement via analog sticks. I always used the analog sticks to move because the tank controls feel fucking weird to me in Outbreak which is strange since I can play RE1, RE2, RE3 and REmake with their tank controls.
Came to here to post this. This and the sequel were pretty decent
Outbreak still had Tank controls, however in File 2 they added a stance where you can lock onto enemies and keep your aim up while moving. It was useful but finnicky to use if you wanted to use Kevin or Alyssa's stronger firing stance
The final boss from 1 was wild. Is this game on the Bone?
I really hope capcom is making outbreak 3/remake and it's not some online only thing.
>umbrella coros was fun
Two questions:
1. Can I play it without psn?
2. Will it be fun without psn?
MY LIFE IS SHIT
GOODNIGHT
>mfw moving and shooting for the first time ever in a Resident Evil title.
I lost my god damned mind when I played File 2 and realized I could MOVE AND SHOOT. Kid me thought that shit was revolutionary.
YOU'RE WORSE THAN MY EX-WIFE
I meant ps+, sorry.
>wanders off and gets killed by a moth
T-thanks.
>gee I hope this sequel/remake for an online coop game isn't online only
I'm assuming you mean you don't want some kind of asymmetrical multiplayer like people have alluded to it being?
I didn't need online to play outbreak 1 & 2, I'm just hoping the same stands for 3.
Oh yeah fair enough, I don't think they'd make it mandatory matchmaking though something tells me there might not be any bots which isn't necessarily a bad thing given how stupid they were
I'm sure Lone Wolf mode will make a return.
I don't give a fuck unless the game has Bob in it.
Pressing left and right to turn your body makes it slow to move, and hard to dodge attacks.
This select screen pc only?
>not using auto aim to position yourself better if you're that bad at moving left and right normally
Nah. Just someone fooling around with models and stuff.
it's actually a perfect example of what resident evil should have remained at
it had tanky style controls, directional as well (but not fucking broken like the "alternate" control type on the remastery of Zero and REmake1) and the ability to move while aiming, strafing and a bunch of other "lite" moves like kicking, tackling and so on
combined with the ability to use a held weapon as a defence against grabs and so on, and a nice blend of roaming camera and fixed camera when appropriate
it also really fucking shined for atmosphere, especially the gunplay effects, they actually sounded heavy and powerful, with a nice muzzle flash with great shadow work and lighting, etc
outbreak 1 and 2 should have been a huge success, but it appeared during a time when online gaming was mostly a meme, the hardware of the ps2 let it down fucking terribly with 30+ second load times even in singleplayer when moving between areas etc
if we are indeed getting an outbreak reboot, i fucking hope it's more in line with the OG games and not some shitty trash spin off that plays like remake2, revelations, ORC or god fucking forbid, Umbrella Corps
if it's a battle royale sandbox in raccoon city with airdrops from both umbrella and the USMC i'm going to fucking hang myself
I only ever played as Hunk. I'd pretend that Outbreak was basically this game about Hunk surviving and escaping Raccoon City.
I'm glad she's canon
With all the ports that Resident Evil has been getting (yeah mostly for the switch) I pray we eventually get some kind of port of Outbreak with sped up load times
>KEVIN! HELP ME!
>NO
I remember seeing her name in RE2R, and just being like, "CAPCOM ACKNOWLEDGES OUTBREAK! CAPCOM REMEMBERS!"
Granted, RE7 confirmed Alyssa survived and brought down umbrella, but still.
Get that noose nice and tight because this new game will not resemble the first two Outbreaks, not even close.
I want it to though.
>try to rush past the shark area in Decisions, Decisions
>make it out okay
>Mark player gets knocked into the water by a shark
>Can't find Mark swimming in the water
>Suddenly a shark jumps out of the water with Mark in its mouth
>Mark's player presses the talk button
>Mark: "SON OF A BITCH!"
>Mark dies
Funniest shit.
a remaster, not a remake, bundle of outbreak 1 and file 2 together as a full game, with better textures, the same / enhanced lightning and sound effects, 60 fps and almost seamless fucking loading times is a dream i know is never coming true, no matter how much i want it to
fuck the noose that's too slow, i'm building a suicide helmet
I always acted real nice with the ai that weren't friendly towards a character I picked by giving them items and helping them fight zombies or healing them. They would end up helping me later which was nice.
>Damn it! Help me!
>"No"
>Can I have it pretty please?
>"No"
>"CINDYYYYYYYY!"
>Mark from the other side of the world, trying to give you 2 handgun bullets which he then reloads into his gun when you reach him
Fuck you
Something similar happened to me in the Zoo level from File 2, with the Alligator except I think the Alligator throws your ass up in the air right before it eats you.
you know how uh, mgs HD collection came with metal gear 1 and 2 bundled in it?
i hope one day we'll see a resident evil 4K collection which also includes outbreak file 1 and 2 bundled in with it as a "ah well, may as well" thing from capcom
>and it will be the only thing people keep playing it for
>Kevin attacks the Axeman
>Axeman knocks Kevin on his ass
>Kevin: "Please help!"
>Cindy (me) saves him
>Kevin: "Thanks."
>Kevin proceeds to attack the Axeman again
>Kevin: "Please help!"
>Cindy: "No."
Every Flashback run ever.
Amnesia always gets more recognition, but I prefer the Penumbra series from Frictional Games.
I remember once playing online on File 2 and the Tyrants second form getting like a triple kill on me and two other dudes
We're all standing there dying slowly while ad-libbing
>Son of a bitch!
>Oh poo!
>Dammit!
>Help me!
>No!
>tfw no simple HD collection of both Outbreak (with all of the subtle improvements from File 2) and File 2
go!
GO!
Go!
This almost happened to Kevin twice. He almost got eaten by the sharks and Hunter Gamma.
>Oh poo!
Cindy is too pure for Resident Evil.
Me at this image: "There's only three people in this image. Where is the fourth player?"
And then I noticed Mr. Green's head behind David. Bless this fucking game.
>Fighting the plant boss
>Jim enters the room
>Alissa!
>Offers some acid bottles
>Immediately grabbed by the planet
>squeaky sounds
>This sucks!
>Help me!
>dropped down
>proceeds to try throwing acid bottles at ceiling rape tentacles
>fucking leaves the room after
I always loved how one of her special items had her finding cookies shaped like Mr. Raccoon, and her reaction to them are "They're so cute that I couldn't possibly eat them!" Only she would have this reaction amidst a zombie outbreak.
'Scuuuze me!
He won't let us down. We're going home, bros..
I have one question.
Where's yo mind at?
Hey, Bob. Where's your mind at?
i barely got any chance to play with the colours but i remember one of them had a massive health capacity to the point it took like two first aid sprays to hit fine or something right?
they started out with the same amount of health for everyone else but that meant they were in danger status lol
man this game was so cool, i know they're never going to reach the same level in a sequel, there's just no way
there was so many characters and even though they all played like the mainline characters, they all had different voices (i think) and a lot of unique fucking mechanics to them
like if you unlock and play as bob, he starts heavily infected and in danger status, i remember that much
was always disapointed unlocking the axeman made you start with a pipe instead of the unbreakable axe though
CINDEH
I
N
D
E

Cindy was the ultimate pro character too
>liked by most (if not all) AI so minimal conflict
>can carry like 3 full heals outside of her actual inventory, yoko btfo
>has a much easier and efficient iframe dodge, yoko btfo again, jim get fucked
>didn't lose any attack power with firearms or melee weapons, but didn't have any bonuses either, still yoko btfo
>extremely low infection rate, beaten by yoko but fuck yoko
>bandage to cure bleeding, could be traded, never not useful
>slower than usual because high heels but classy as fuck
>tiny health but who the fuck needs huge amounts of health when you have a herb case and the best dodge in the game anyway
>nothing but sexy costumes
SHE CAN'T KEEP GETTING AWAY WITH IT
MAAARK
If outbreak 3 is going to be a thing:
>what character would you want?
>what would they start with?
>one of their costumes?
I'd want the helicopter pilot from re2, he'd start with a 9mm handgun, and one of his costumes would be post crash.
you mean bonus character right?
i'd wanna play as dario
>slow as fuck
>tanky as fuck
>wide hitbox as fuck
>adlib is him shouting shit like WHAT? HOW DARE YOU etc
>starts in danger, with gunpowder (if the game has it)
If you're in this thread fuck you zoey101
-Old decrepit WW2 veteran who is slow and lacks agility but has ridiculously amplified damage output with specific old type firearms
-Paralympics champion who is super fast on level terrain but with extremely limited ability to travel. Requires help with stairs and cannot use ladders.
-Little girl who can't fight at all but has access to unique routes through wreckage that no other character can fit through. Other characters can effortlessly lift her up to reach elevated areas. She can also hide inside cramped objects and become completely unreachable by enemies.
-Umbrella agent who nobody else trusts because of his affiliation. If the other players refuse to help him and he doesn't help them, later in the campaign there are NPC agents who help him through his own solo unique route that in some ways affects the standard route. If the other players do decide to co-operate with him, the NPC agents refuse to co-operate with him and he will join the others in their standard route through.
Let's just try to stay calm.
The poison's got to me!
HelpMe Pleez!
