World GS gameplay revolves around TTS so any/everything that lets you land a TTS. That means you mantle, trap, trip, paralyze, and sleep spam as much as possible so you can land it.

Gone are the days of Draw GS and learning the monster patterns(at least for GS players)

Gunlance shell damage is determined only by the barrel level (attack stat is only for poking/swinging damage). It can further be boosted only via the artillery skill and eating for felyne bombardier at the canteen.

Load times got horrible for me but gameplay is smooth

MR Teostra armor is not completely shit so just build around it. With the right decos you can reach the level of Drachen before Guiding lands.

Here’s an honest truth - there is only so much prediction you can do. You can take smarter risks and you can take dumber risks. TCS spam is the best dps, but you are consigning yourself to needing to take risks. GU’s Valor GS might have been stupidly strong, but it had the right idea by letting you choose how you commit as you attack. Lot more praying and claiming credit for divine intervention in World.

I feel like as you upgrade, you can see yourself getting a bit more tanky but your damage stays roughly the same, I tested damage with my World items and I ended up dealing more damage with HR armor and weapons than MR.
So I don't think it's monster having to much health is that we deal little to no damage.

Is it me or does the lance jump attack after shielding or doing a slinger burst do like no damage?

The lunge after a guard advance? It's just to get some extra distance in. It also hits 3 times.

The jump attack isn’t for damage, it’s to either reach something in the air or get mounts. It’s also stupidly dangerous in a lot of fights because you’re defenseless. The roadie run into attack is the damage dealer. Hardest hit lance has.

P3rd has different progression and a few different mechanics and monsters compared to 3U, it's short and easy enough that you can finish it pretty fast though so I'd say do that before going to 3U

I fought viper tobi a bunch of times first thing to make his armor set and its become my favorite fight so far. Nightshade paolumu is probably my least favorite fight, but it's not bad. A lot better than vanilla paolumu at least.

If you can avoid getting hit, it's a boon. I used the Rath HR set to kill G4 Valfalk and I did fine since I avoided everything

What is the best combo now for SnS? Just go directly into Perfect Rush?

From what I had heard I went into Barioth under the impression that it was designed around breaking its parts in order to make it an easier fight, but even breaking both its claws and cutting off its tail it only falls over when it does a specific attack for a bout a second it seems. I don't know where I got the idea

I'm not sure yet. I think with element perfect rush does the best damage of any single combo, but you can't exactly chain it very easily due to that silly mini ZSD you do at the end.

valor is specifically designed to make weapons play cleaner and gives you that sheathing dodge so you get punished less if you admit you’re going to eat a hit and then take chip instead. GS and LS are notoriously strong and easy to pick up. If you can’t play with the style designed to give you as many bullshit options as possible with minimizable drawbacks, you’re not going to be able to play any of the past games

Most weapons that can KO also have an exhaust value. KO only applies when striking a monster’s head, but Exhaust applies everywhere. Hammer and HH superpounds have relatively higher exhaust and lower KO than their other options, for example. Exhaust procs will take off a chunk of monsters’ stamina and thus put them into a tired state faster, but the main appeal is that these procs stagger.

For the weapon customisation feature in Iceborne’s endgame. The weapon designs were the most complained about thing in World but they were too far along to fix it with Iceborne’s planned endgame so we’re stuck with this shit now. They’re aware that literally everyone hates the weapon designs though so MH6 better address the issue. I don’t care if they use the iron/bone lazy reskin system again as long as the final stage of the weapon in HR is unique. For MR they can just slap extra shit on for all I care, as long as by Rarity 8 everything is different.

They’ve already said that Iceborne is the first and last expansion World is getting. With how the MH team works they’ve probably been working on MH6 since World was finished.

They probably already have, I imagine the team working on Iceborne is not (entirely) the same team they have making the next main entry. Iceborne is just the G release that every game gets, delivered differently.

Too bad they're both objectively shit since acid glav has equal raw and sharpness but without hueg negative affinity.

I’m starting to do it more often, yeah. But thats mostly because some monsters like Viper Tobi are such a fucking pain in the ass to fight. The sooner I capture them, the more time I save instead of having to fucking fight his ass for another 20 minutes even though he’s nearly flat lining.

on the new weapons, when the end of the sharpness gauge has those little slivers showing the next levels do i need handycraft to have access to them? i make a shrieking legiana weapon and i cant get the purple sharpness it displays.

They said the post-launch won't go on for as long as World, not that there will be less
World's got extended by the development time of the crossover monsters. Unless that happens again it'll be shorter.

Lunastra is great

Only done up to Barioth and hum and Banbaro are both pretty great.

Least favorite fight though is nightshade paolumu. It's either incredibly fucking tedious with all the sleep or a complete snoozefest when you have sleep immunity since his only mechanic is gone.

I'm pretty fucking bummed by Shrieking Legiana. It's just a normal Legiana with stalagmites and only one new actual attack. There's way more effort put into Nightshade Paolumu, Coral Pukei Pukei, Acidic Glavenus and Ebony Odogaron.
