Even if that was the case, X/Y and Sun/Moon would have still suffered from sub-30 FPS during battles for their "future-proof" models for nothing. Game Freak is a shit dev now, they can't escape their fate.

They don't want them to make new pokemon, they want them to stop making everything else look like shit. The reason people are shitting on the Pokemon models is because Gamefreak has been lying to people, telling them that they can't have better graphics / national dex "because we have to create all of the pokemon from scratch", which is obvious bullshit.

I think what people more have an issue with is that the future proofing they already did for their models, unified humanoid skeletal anims, animations for all the models, having the models already dense for future usage on the switch, basically lead to nothing and now they're cutting shit for time instead of just delaying the game.

Why can't they just add a basic fur/scale/bump mapping texture/shaders to the Pokemon? Even GameCube Games had decent fur shaders.
