Shameless self bump

COD wasn't always shitty, it was after the first Black Ops that everything went downhill.

youtube.com/watch?v=5ns-MAji3yY
K I N O

CoD multiplayer and in general was at its peak in WaW.

last WW game I ever enjoyed too
peak nazi fighting game

I thought BO2's interactive story was pretty fun, but that's the last COD I actually paid attention to. The last one I bought was Ghosts but I completed maybe three missions before losing interest and never playing again. What happened? I heard some shit went down with Zombies, but I only know the story up to Moon.

It was one of the first 360 games I got back in 2008 and even though the 360 was kind of lackluster graphically even back then, some games like Fight Night, Gears and MW looked fantastic on my CRT TV. Not so much on a big screen, but that lighting was fantastic.

Also great setpieces and fun multiplayer. Played it on live with a bunch of loud mouth black kids from my high school was the tits.

*after the first MW

Multiplayer? Yes, I regularly go back to play. Shame about modders but they've been getting significantly rarer these days.
In general? I'm not so sure. Yeah, the WAW campaign was amazing and the guns all felt so punchy, not to mention the extensive gore mechanics, but I've been replaying them all recently and was more hyped by MW2's story and ending than WAW's. Then again, maybe that's because the last time I completed WAW was on veteran and my tortured soul wal only capable of feeling sheer apathy.

Nah, world at war was really good and and the first Black ops was as well

IW has the best campaign since 4

How much shit do you actually like shoveling into your mouth?

The MW Trilogy had really good music.
invidio.us/watch?v=hDd1X1cENAI

>Mission loadouts are back
>Good side missions that can be skipped if you want
>Cool dog fighting with aces
>Space porn all around

It's a great campaign you have no points

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 96K)

>irrelevant for quality of a story mode
>all the side missions are copy pasted and are boring as shit "destroy this tiny ship" or kill x amount of dog fighters
>the ship controls are easy as fucking shit and gets old really fast
>terrible characters
>Terrible antagonist that was absolutely nothing more than an edgy retard
>terrible set pieces that existed for nothing other than to have set pieces in the game
>absolute nonsensical story with multiple plotholes
>boring guns where most of them are just fucking modern weapons with metal and wires slapped onto them
The only reason idiots like you say it's good is because you think having a Pyrrhic victory ending makes something smart and complex. Infinite Warfare had a terrible campaign. Even MW3's was better.

Attached: Play Doom.png (1543x6892, 1.67M)

Do it faggot

It's fucking dead now

Honestly don't even remember the ending user. I rented it for a day from redbox on release and I enjoyed the space stuff. As for characters. Price and Woods are the only cod characters I remember. Not a strong suit of the series

>he can't remember Makarov, Shephard, and Soap from MW2 alone base don their voices and quotes
You sound like you have brain damage, which is probably why you think IW's campaign is anything but shit.

Last I played mw2 was before 3s release so nope. Played MW3 once and totally forget that game

Alright, I don't really know how that changed anything. MW3's campaign is also bad. Did you think I said it was good in ? Is your reading comprehension that bad?

To interject in this little argument I have also forgotten the entirety of MW3's campaign except the part where Makarov gets necked.

I'm just agreeing with you. MW3 is an odd game and forgettable.
I remember that and the opening and nothing else. It's so weird

Is Ghosts the weirdest COD? Like isn't the bad guy some giant south american army or something and then it has rods from god? And then I remember some weird quarantined city with hover bikes or some shit.

This shit makes me blow my load youtu.be/2yFcflrh0sc straight from the rock

Post yfw you walked out of the Bunker and saw Washington DC

Attached: 1450138379204.png (247x239, 15K)

Man its weird watching this after playing the new MW's alpha. The update in gunplay and sound with the same kinda guns and gear

Is black ops 3's campaign worth a few bucks?

Doesnt help that the videos audio is kinda fucked up but I get your point

I found it amusing how they made SDF and that villain admiral so goddamn cheesy evil, it was as if they had nothing else in their minds but the murder of earthers just for sake of murder. And what was up with that retarded scene where that admiral shoots one of his men just to show how fucking cold he is? Jesus Christ, how can anyone write shit like that without ever asking himself that how it will actually feel when people see it?

>South American states RISE UP, steal and recolor the flag of EU and become an evil empire that starts genociding US citizens living on its territory
>start a war with USA by hijacking orbital weapons platform and turning the border into endless hellscape of war and desolation
It’s a weird one for sure.

Not since 4, but IW did have a sweet campaign. Everything else was giga dogshit, though.

I want a COD set in Strangereal from ace combat. PA was gonna make a game like that

>reeeee how dare time progress, how dare you be a loomer yoomer and not a joomer goomer

>came out 12 years ago

I played it on Steam about 6 months ago and always got into Team Deathmatch no problem, played for a couple weeks and I don't think I came across a single hacker

>Five years ago, I lost 30,000 men in the blink of an eye, and the world just fuckin' watched. Tomorrow there will be no shortage of volunteers, no shortage of patriots. I know you understand.
What did he mean by this?

9/11 basically. Tons of volunteers for revenge etc.

Fun fact: If a Nimitz Class carrier went down with all hands more people would die than on 9/11

Reminder that if MW4 doesn't sell, CoD will be killed off. It's the series' final hope.

Zombies turned into an absolute clusterfuck of alternate dimensions. Supposedly the last BO4 Zombies map (out late this month) will end the original "Aether" story for good, but I suspect they'll end up rebooting it for BO5 since Chaos wasn't really a success.

BO3 was the really fucking weird one.

I havent played it. Should I?

Are you the sort of person who likes the Zombies style of storytelling where you have to piece it together through fan theories?

honestly, the whole modern warfare trilogy is great. its worth playing for the campaigns

Honestly I never got into Zombies. The main campaign is like that? I liked blops 2

>IW did have a sweet campaign
No it did not.

Heck you space battles are awesome.

yeah don't play it then
it shits all over bo2 by having the worst ending be canon anyway

No, they aren't. Not in IW. Even if it was the case, the space fights play an extremely minor role as far as quantity is concerned. 10% of the game being decent doesn't stop the remaining 90% of the campaign from being shit.

>I really liked a part of this game
>IT'S SHIT, EVERYTHING IS SHIT
oh ok.

Attached: 1565984667146.png (173x292, 82K)

It's a good game user you arent alone. Dont really see hard sci fi shooters like IW.

Smell like shit eater cope.

CoD was good until Black Ops II, Black Ops II was the first CoD game that felt boring relatively to the rest.

Okay, I think if I actually came here often enough, this would be the fucking that convinced me I should stop because I'm way older than most people here.

MW 1-3
BO 1-3
and
WaW

Nope, Campaign and MP were garbage, Zombies was good tho

Smells like underage basedboy.

>please stop tell me this shitty game isn't actually good
We've reached a point where Yea Forums is starting to defend Infinite Warfare of all things. Holy fucking shit.

>ground war domination
>equip noob tube
>aim straight up towards enemy spawn
>kill their entire team
>mfw

Bonus points if you equipped the harrier/chopper gunner/nuke setup

Attached: 1561246524810.jpg (249x250, 8K)

In Blops 1 on firing range you could toss a sticky from spawn and kill people. I had a video of it

the AUG was always my go-to weapon

Damn, that IS a kino track.

Black Ops > Modern warfare

No, I'm defending that guy's right to like whatever he likes without some faggot on the internet having to interject his dick ass, unsolicited opinion about it.
Grow up.

People on release liked the campaign

>generic "orchestral" song for a military game
>sounds like every other generic "orchestral" song for a military game
>KINO!
yeah naw

ghost is DEAD
sandman is DEAD

I don't care if he likes it, i'm not here to sway his like of the game, IW is just bad.

That is a lie, and you can check the archives for proof. What few people did talk about the game wouldn't shut up about how dumb the story mode was, with its borderline cartoon villain and dogshit plotholes.

Call of Duty games are great but they're extremely short. I hate playing with other people online so It's not even worth pirating them when the single player campaign is about 7 hours long

>I don't have anything of value to say so I'm going to call him a Redditor to try to embarrass him!
sick burn. Have you done your homework yet you got school tomorrow.

Yes, yes, congratulations on being a white knight dedicated to going around to random threads to screech at people who aren't nice to everyone with shit taste. That doesn't stop IW from being a terrible game.

>"SOAP, GO LEFT!"
>riverbank and an entire village to my immediate left

You know what's strange? Everyone always goes on about how COD is a multiplayer game and the campaign is always bombastic jingoism, but in reality it's actually one of the most unique single player series out there.

Think about all of the generic cod wannabes that came out in the past decade: you can't because they're so incredibly forgettable you'll only recall them when you see a picture of them and think "oh yeah that exists".

Meanwhile every COD game has attempted to set itself aside from the others. It's undeniable that the fundamental gameplay hasn't changed all that much - not even parkour and exo suits have really shaken them up - but aesthetically and conceptually most games have their own singleplayer identity.

Everyone remembers the ghillie suits from 4, the brutality and gore from w@w, the 'bigger and better' set pieces from mw2, THE NUMBERS from bo1, the blandness of mw3, the unexpected but welcome branching story paths of bo2, the pants on head retardation of ghosts, the arthouse ai fuckery of bo3, etc. Or the point im trying to get across is that every COD game has its own identity and will recall different aesthetics. Whereas if we look at other series like Gears of War, every installment looks and tells like the previous one. Same goes for Halo, Uncharted, Smash Bros, and so on.

Just to restate the point one last time, I'm not saying that that COD is the greatest series of all time. But I am saying that the singleplayer campaigns don't get the recognition they deserve for trying their hardest to push boundaries while being firmly in the Call Of Duty box. Far Cry, as an example, changed completely between 1, 2, and 3 to the point where you wouldn't really recognize them as the same series. But then between 3, 4, and 5 they've been identical; only changing superficially. COD is the only series I've seen that manages to vary wildly between installments while also remaining undeniably COD. It's odd.

Attached: Guilliman.jpg (450x441, 57K)

Huh, you're right. I noticed that each game was remembered for different reasons, sure, but I never actually considered the implications of it before. Is this some pasta I've never seen?

Attached: IMG_0538.jpg (523x470, 29K)

I want the new Modern Warfare reboot to be good, but part of me thinks it's unlikely.

A lot of it had to do with the fact that CoD had integrity up until Ghosts came out.

Each campaign had a core theme it wanted to explore and as a result the campaigns were willing to experiment more. Some times the experiments worked, and other times they did. Meanwhile, the method for the CoD clones was to simply copy CoD without thinking about why CoD did certain things. I think a lot of this had to do with the fact that the IW and early Treyarch CoDs were developed by people with a vision. I don't think it's a coincidence that IW went on to make the Titanfall series and it became a cult classic.

The whole IW-Respawn thing really goes to show you that competent people will do good work no matter where they find themselves, but copycats will usually be forgotten (with things like oreos being an exception, of course)

No, I am just a maniac who (for some reason) puts effort into his posts. Even on a COD thread. And while phoneposting.

Yea bro cod was epic bro! Its not like its the same shit every year!
youtu.be/wrQkEg-Dpvk

Ah, I remember when I was fifteen. Such a carefree time.

Not since it became backwards compatible on xbone

Will the new CoD break the mold and bring us back to the glory days?

no

That's one less loose end.

Why are posts in this thread showing up to me as "zoom zoom zoom" over and over again? WTF is going on?

Good

WW2 sold a shitload. if anything they'll just go back to past conflicts instead of modern/future.

Every CoD game is great and even though theres over a dozen of them they are more varied than all the shitty jap games you spam on here like Yakuza, EDF, and whatever other copy paste game you like.

ramirez said to post your loadout

>every cod game is great
Big fucking yikes, the series died with MW2.

Thats what you decrepit boomers say about every franchise.

youtu.be/nT56OdLOJWA
Was I the only one who cried during this scene?

I agree, honestly its fun was probably kind of an accident. They likely didn't think dual wielded smgs/shotguns, bottomless noobtubes, 7 foot commando lunge, etc would actually be balanced.

You seriously cried over CoD?
