Why aren't you playing Oblivion right now?
Why aren't you playing Oblivion right now?
cause there are better games that are worth my time.
waiting for skyblivion
It's kinda shitty even with a gorillion mods
I'm playing Daggerfall.
Have you heard of the high elves?
cube world is daggerfall but better
Because I get too bored to continue after an hour of it. The world is just so incredibly uninteresting.
how did you get it to look like that? my LOD always looks like garbage
Cause Elder Scrolls games are trash.
shit opinion
Cause i have taste
There's no point in playing other open world RPGs after Ultima VII essentially solved the genre.
When's Skyrim 2?
ultima 7 is barely even an RPG and the actual gameplay is terrible
cause i did everything there is to do 12 years ago
I can't tell if I didn't notice the shitty graphics at the time or I dont remember noticing the shitty graphics
Everytime I try to mod it I broke it. Give me a torrent with the game already modded.
Your reign of terror is about to end, Todd. LeFay is coming back.

oblivion was the best console peasants could get in 2006, it always looked shitty but you didn't know any better
also OP's image has fucked up world lighting, if you look at the buildings and the ground you will notice that the hills and mountains are showing light in the wrong direction
It's because he's using using the everything viewable when distant mod, and obliviom doesn't have real world lighting on LOD assets.
>oblivion was the best console peasants could get in 2006, it always looked shitty but you didn't know any better
No fucking way. Even back then it was pretty evident that Oblivion didn't have the same graphical fidelity(or artistic direction, for that matter) as other upcoming games, especially when compared to the upcoming EU3 titles.
>oblivion was the best console peasants could get in 2006, it always looked shitty but you didn't know any better
Remember when they hyped a bunch of shit at e3 that never made it to the final game because of consoles? I had to clean up my old home a few months ago and found some gaming magazine article with pictures of the trolls and how you could see that "their hair is practically standing"
Thanks for using my screenshot OP
Use Evenstars Colourwheel LOD instead of RAEVWD. It's much more performance friendly.
This user is correct. But vanilla Oblivion didn't have terrain shadows either. That is added by another mod that changes the LOD and adds terrain shadows.
I heard there is a mod to add proper controller support to the game, as well as diagonal movement. Have you tried them?
only bethesda-developed games i played were skyrim and fallout 3 and honestly those 2 were enough for me, so no thanks
I'm currently playing with diagonal movement. IIRC the mod is called walk blessed or blessed walk or something like that, it works great. It also adds an over-the-shoulder perspective while in third person. I have not looked into controller support yet but last time i tried it, a couple of years ago, it was buggy as hell.
I already beat it and the expansions a decade ago and have no plan playing through the frustrating as fuck repetitive dungeons any time soon.
Also Breath of the Wild is scratching the open world itch at the moment.
what settings for OSR do you use (heap etc.) and oblivion.ini tweaks that you think make the biggest difference?
I'd like to get rid of that stutter
nexusmods.com
bManageFPS=1 with standard FPS settings and then bReplaceHeap = 1 with 768 in heapsize with algorithm 6.
Waiting for Skyblivion
Because I can't get it to fucking run for the life of me. I miss Oblivion.
>That is added by another mod that changes the LOD and adds terrain shadows.
what mod?
those optimized LODs are basically required to play the game now, shit's perfect
>implying anyone thought oblivion looked bad in 2005-6
not to mention UE3 took god damn forever to be anything but teaser screenshots of UT"2007" and everyone still could barely run anything with bump mapping
I am
Realistic Normal Maps with Faked Terrain Shadows
classic
You were a consolekid back then so you didn't realize Oblivion looked bad.
actually it does, it has nothing to do with vwd it all has to do with the terrain.fx that comes with oblivion reloaded and its been broken like that since they first introduced it
you didn't have a PC worth a shit back then so you didn't realize it looked fantastic
Find a flaw.
skyrimjob
lol
looks like tibia
I remember it so i cant experience it for the first time again
because it's fucking shit and couldn't finish it more than a decade ago when trying to mod the shit out of it. Scaling system alone makes me hate it every time I try.
I-I can't.
>fun quests
>rememberable characters
>dawn/duskfang
>beautiful locations
do not ignore me, test that controller mod
It keeps fucking crashing making it unplayable with the mods I want to use.
You may only respond to this post with the absolute best Oblivion quests.
I want to, although im not sure which mods i should use for the leveling part. Im thinking about trying Obscuros Overhaul, no idea if it's to far from vanilla.
Fine.
vilja
Kino
It doesn't have achievements on steam.
Oh no how will we ever play it?
This. I'd rather try replaying it that way.
I tried it but I think I'm just too smooth-brained for it, I need some kind of quest log
/thread
>playing Oblivion without mods
>wanting Skyrim's janky NPCs
Playin Fallout NV nigga
wow, reddit tourists are real
This.
Oblivion AI is pure kino.
>he actually believes Oblivion looks good
surly you mean you judssst change one .ini from 0 to 1.
It works. ENB menu keeps opening up when using ABXY, but that can be shut off by editing the enbseries.ini. Menus are wonky as fuck though and i don't like the way he bound the keys. With some tweaking it can probably work well.
>2K
seeDreamworld quest
That kino user wasn't me but thanks for trying it.
>Menus are wonky as fuck though
The issue is that it didn't work at all previously iirc. Is it playable with that mod? What's wonky about it?
What are you trying to say?
For example, in the waiting menu you can press the left joystick to make your selection of "cancel" or "wait". You have to use the right joystick to move the cursor instead. And once i was hovering over "wait" i couldn't click any of the ABXY keys to actually wait.
Does the inventory and other pause menus work?
Yeah it works. You have to use right trigger instead of "A" to select stuff in menus.
It's not comfortable but you could probably get used to it.
neat thanks
some mods for you
mega.nz
and?
another folder

Is any of it worth having? I'm not sure what any of it is. I've seen demwaifus blog in which he posted some nice armor that were not available on nexus or anywhere else.
give me oblivion VR and i'll play it
>and the actual gameplay is terrible
you're in an oblivion of all things, your house will thoroughly shatter throwing stones like that
>can't even type out a sentence without fucking it up
WOW! GOOD POINT!
That's really up to you man I don't know.
VII isn't even the best Ultima game
It's over a decade old and fucking trash, you retarded born-in-the-90s-90s-kid. I know it's your first TES game, but open your goddamn eyes.
>Ultima VII
zoom zoom
the thieves guild quest to become the grey fox
>you retarded born-in-the-90s-90s-kid
Reminder you are a fucking boomer if you are born in the 80's. Time to get off this website and grow up Dad
Because my PS3 died after years of playing gaumes & I'm waiting out for an eventual port on the switch hopefully by the end of the year
If they haven't already announced it by now, it's definitely not coming this year.
Ok I'm reinstalling Oblivion
Galerion Levelling too my man :)
have you change Oblivion Reloaded's HDR settings? Or are you using ENB for color?
Because I already experienced nearly everything it has to offer back when I had it on my Xbox 360, ages ago.
I'd have to install a ton of mods to make it prettier+add content and pray that they work.
I'd have to find an all NPCs protected or respawn mod because I don't like it when a little piece of the worlds is permanently lost because it's a non-combatant peasant getting punched in the dick by a bandit wearing priceless glass armor.
I love the game, but getting into it again would be difficult. I've got Skyrim set up just right, but I still don't play it very often. I've tried modding up Morrowind but run into the same problems I have with Oblivion, except I've read much of Morrowind's content instead of having played it.
What do you mean?
I'm using the Cyrodiil ENB and i replaced the enbpalette.bmp in order to keep as much of the vanilla colours as possible, but during sunrise and sunset the godrays kind of changes the colour.
>zoomers have reached the age where they believe Oblivion was a masterpiece
Why does the Imperial city have a port when it doesn't even have access to the sea. Hell a ship couldn't even get into the Niben Bay due to shallows and the bridge across the Upper Niben.
Why are there so many fucking abandoned forts and ruins in Tamriel?
>I already experienced nearly everything it has to offer back when I had it on my Xbox 360
meaning you didn't experience anything since oblivion is all about modding
it's a video game
are you using Oblivion Reloaded at all?
>replaced the enbpalette.bmp
with your own?
and adolf?
it ended
I found it funny how in Daggerfall it seemed like every innkeeper and merchant had somehow owned a "property" 10x the size of their village that needed to be cleared of harpies or some shit.
The real answer is that the games aren't a pure representation of the fictional world they are set in. Things are abstracted or approximated due to technical and game design factors.
I replaced it with one from another ENB. A black and white one from an ENB called "Simple ENB" should be on nexus.
Yeah, i'm using Oblivion reloaded as well.
