looks like a drill to me
back to sleep, people
Thanks, Lucas.
Didn't actually expect to see the eyeball bullshit fixed.
Is this the definitive majora's mask version now or is there's still some
>MUH SOUL
argument going?
I find Lucas's autism amusing
Eyeballs?
UNIRONICALLY HIRE THIS MAN
Did they make the actual game not a pile of garbage though or is it still Majora's Mask?
honestly, yeah. I'll take a one man vanity project over the corporate shit we have now.
I kinda liked how the inverted song of time was in the remake better, but otherwise this is all pretty great. Gonna go replay this now.
did they remove the time limit?
>Majoras mask is better than ocarina of time
Both games are timeless masterpieces. It's foolish to compare one with the other due to how different they are.
>Press Up/Down on the D-Pad to toggle between fast swim and slow swim. You can also hold ZL to slow swim
>Three of the four D-Pad buttons are now used to fast transform
>The Song of Time now optionally saves the game
>Removes the eyeballs from Odolwa, Goht and Gyorg
>Ice arrows now work everywhere in Great Bay Temple, not just in Gyorg's room
>Link no longer plays the Elegy of Emptiness a second time after it's been played once
The fact that these had to be fixed just makes me angrier at Aonuma.
>durr two swimming holes with the time limit still active, that's what people want
Agrees, it was way to slow. You'd have characters practically tiptoing into place.
I'd say its definitive. Playing the originals at 15fps just doesn't work anymore.
I'm glad playstion devs knew the value of playable framerates, so much kino on the PS1 would be trash if it ran at N64 speeds.
Honestly the last 2 points make this so much better than the original it's not even funny.
I would love to play with all this but idk where to even start installing all this shit
is your shit hacked? If so ust use the custom version of luma (you wont need this in the future), install the game and then install the mod.
There's another mod that restores the OST too
You can't fix it completely.
>audio still fucked
>lighting still fucked
But the game will still look terrible
audio is also taken care of
the lighting is fine you're just autistic
>doesn't fix the ridiculous oversaturation of colors and lighting that ruins every location that was originally dark
why the fuck was it even a thing
>well you see it's hard to see on the 3DS so
fuck off. unlike the GBA this shit has like five fucking brightness settings
Whats wrong with the three things listed?
Goron roll in 3D was a toggle. Original was fine.
Zora swimming got nerfed with fast swimming requiring magic/always using the shield in an area with no magic pots while default swimming was too slow. No toggle.
Every boss got an eyeball weak spot, making Odolwa a joke (lost majority of his moveset and is generally less aggressive), killing the pace of Goht (you now have to stop after a while to take off your mask and shoot the eye until it explodes and he resumes running) Gyorg (now has a segment where you have to trick him into eating mines that can be detonated by anything including his own fish) and Twinmold (the worst boss fight in the remake thanks to the changes made to the Giant's Mask portion - yon now have to slowly punch a head 10 times before walking over to it and watching a cutscene of Link swinging it around before slamming it into the ground)
>>GORON ROLL
>>ZORA SWIMMING
>>SHITTY EYEBALLS
How about Deku Scrub spin->hop momentum?
Also fixed
I've seen better battles from beetles in a bottle.
>Fixed Deku Hopping: Hop on water as fast as in MM
Deku Link's walk acceleration value was nerfed in MM3D (2.0 -> 0.6). As a possibly unintended consequence, this made hopping on lillypads very slow compared to the original even if you spin at the optimal time.
Is there anything needing to be fixed for OOT3d?
>>Removes the eyeballs from Odolwa, Goht and Gyorg
But does it also make Odolwa vulnerable to all attacks like in the N64 version, or are you still forced to do the Deku Sprout bombing?
Any prepatched cia?
Aside from adjusting the brightness, not really. They handled it a lot better than MM3D.
My understanding was that in addition to it just simply being slow, the 3D version actually forcibly reset all your momentum to 0 the second you touched the water. I assume from the wording of the patch note that it's all been fully addressed, though, which is cool.
did they fix the shitty link model and the shitty animation and the shitty lighting?
guess not
>Removes the eyeballs from Odolwa, Goht and Gyorg
So what are the weak points now? Are you able to just damage them as you did in n64?
I'm curious how they actually went about removing the eyeballs and changing how the boss fights work.
It does, removing the eyeballs means they behave like the original bosses now
Nice, that's awesome.
>EVERY FUCKING PROBLEM IS FIXED
they fixed the lighting? and the soulless clock? and the constant bomber notebook popups? and the ice arrows?
youtube.com
Some of the stuff, no boss fights though.
You could read the notes.
>and the constant bomber notebook popups? and the ice arrows?
yes
read the fucking github you monkey
Damn that zora swimming looks so good at 30fps
>The Bomber's Notebook screen now updates instantly when it's opened instead of waiting for 1.8 seconds just before starting the "new" text animation (!), followed by another 1.18s pause and another 1.56s delay until the main text box appears (!!).
>Ice arrows now work everywhere in Great Bay Temple, not just in Gyorg's room.
so no. they're better, but not entirely fixed
Ice Arrows work outside the temple. Not sure why they worded it like that.
And yeah, I'd prefer the notebook notification being gone, period.
>audio is also taken care of
No it isn't. And it looks like garbage lighting wise.
>better, bigger dungeons
>better characters
>better story
>much more stuff to do between dungeons
>HD assets on low poly
My eyes
at this point it'll come down to if you like the graphic changes or not
some shit needs to be restored though
they'd have to port the original's lighting
Really ought to be a punishable offense.
you really think the trash you posted looks better than MM3D?
Are you fucking blind?
Not even talking about 15fps yet either.
Then make it. This mod proves that the 3DS games are modifiable, and the base game is fixed. If the fucking stairs bother you so much fix them.
That looks fucking awful.
How would the game even fucking make sense without it though?
Imagine being so autistic that the 3DS remaster wasn’t good enough for you.
>those buttons
>that balloon
*vomits externally*
Imagine being so autistic you defend a corporation from Anonymous posters on Yea Forums.
you could copy paste the entire old rom's assets onto 3ds and I don't see the point unless the port adds new features that are worth it
if its anything like oot 3ds it has some atmosphere breaking changes
we're still a step away from adding the lighting back though
>better dungeons
only the first and the last are good, the middle 2 sucked imo
just about all of the dungeons in OoT were great
How well does the game emulate in citra? Is there a bunch of wonky touch screen stuff I'd have to account for?
IT IS A DRILL
NOT EVERY FUCKING PROBLEM IS FIXED YOU BASTARD
>LIGHTING
STILL NOT FIXED
Now stop spamming these shitty threads retard.
>LIGHTING
autism
the game had actual mechanical problems and now they're fixed.
>autism
>atmosphere = autism
Go on, try to defend how everything is tinted red in the final hours in the remake.
>the color of the sky is more important than Zora swimming being completely gutted and Stone Tower not being made less of a chore
Just play the n64 version instead of some frankenstein half fucked one
Exactly, say what you want about the prequels but they had fucking SOUL and I use that unironically.
Not the point, OP said every problem was fixed when that's a bold faced lie.
Does autism make it hard for you to function day to day?
>just about all of the dungeons in OoT were great
more like most of them are short and boring, except a few of the adult ones
at 15fps? No fucking thank you
No, but I guess it makes it impossible for you to make a real argument.
Neither are. They don't hold up today.
Not him, but the N64 version plays at 20 fps which isn't that bad.
>20 fps which isn't that bad
seriously?
With drops. And the PAL version runs at 17fps, with drops.
It doesn't fix Majora's Mask being a shitty game.
No it's not you dyslexic zoomer.
The 64 version isn't even a consistent 20 fps. That shit fucking DROPS
>Requires a custom version of Luma3DS instead of working with the normal version
Same here, why the hell would you need a custom version of Luma3DS to begin with? Isn't it just essentially a rom hack?
>PAL
Don't even bother with this meme as if that matters.
It's been years since I played on an actual console, but I don't remember any slow down, just the occasional freeze is the cartridge is jostled.
Did they fix the rainbow stairs? This is important.
It's still the shitiest way nowadays to play OoT to be honest. You could argue that maybe Majora's is better on the N64 due to how bad the port was on 3DS, but OoT 3DS is straight up a replacement.
Unless you're one of those soultards.
It's not just a "romhack" you monkeys.
Also READ THE FUCKING GITHUB, it's getting merged to mainline luma soon.
Please mod OOT 3D to have analogue controls instead of 8 directions please
>OoT 3DS is straight up a replacement.
Don't get me wrong, it a much better remake than MM. At the same time though, the aspect ratio/scaling is fucked due to being on the 3DS and the lighting as if they turned the slider up to 11.
>soultards
People misuse it to the point that it starts to lose its meaning, but soul is still a definite thing based on the presentation/message of a game.
it has analog control though?
No
Nah
Why you showing me Geno?
>OoT 3DS is straight up a replacement
In terms of gameplay I agree, but they did change quite a bit of the environments. I do like the look and feel of certain areas in the original more than the remake. The boat in the shadow temple is a good example of this. It used to have a generic gargoyle, but now it's replaced with a river of sticks reference. I know the gargoyle is more generic, but I feel as though it was a much more realistic choice for the world and setting. The river of sticks has been done to death.
Not to mention certain music tracks are slightly lower quality than the original.
Oops
What?
No reason was looking for a post but mistyped.
tell me you're not actually defending N64 prerendered backgrounds jesus christ.
Yeah, you can't even Floss in these stupid Zelda games!
ok mate be careful next time ok
They were a pathetic Lucas cashgrab
N64 version is perfect
remake is too light and cheerful
The game didn't even need a remake
The N64 game looks fucking disgusting.
How the fuck do you nintendorks stomach that bullshit of smearing a low res texture on an entire wall
well sure now it looks dated, but at the time it was amazing. Not that you could have experienced it since you didn't exist back then.
>the Song of Soaring is only repeated once during a play session
But, I like it...
>but at the time it was amazing
It looked like trash compared to games like Spyro, MGS, MML etc.
>Uses 3d model for an example
>OMG PLZ tell me you aren't defending pre-rendered backgrounds!!!!
I'm clearly talking about the objective artistic changes they made. It's not about blurry backgrounds and jaggy 3d models. It's about the fact that they didn't upgrade what was already there, but rather replaced it entirely or went in a different direction with it. People can prefer the older interpretation of those locations. It's a fair point and using the, "old good new bad"- meme doesn't have any weight here as it isn't what I'm discussing.
>But what about the parts they did just upgrade
I'm talking about the parts they did.
OoT is one of the shittiest looking games of 1998. It was far outclassed by Metal Gear Solid, Sonic Adventure, Half-Life, Crash 3, Grim Fandango, Banjo-Kazooie, Tekken 3 among others.
>u-ur a zoomer!!!!
is not an argument.
>I'm talking about the parts they did.
I meant did not just upgrade.
prerendered backgrounds are great, fuck off
yeah on the playstation.
Compressing them to fit on a cart makes them look pig disgusting
They offer a distinct look and feel. Someone has to have next to no passion to not notice it. The fact that someone can say it looks bad or that it's great is proof that it stands on its own as something unique.
PS1 games look like graphical puke
This is funnier than it should be.
In FF7 they are used in almost all scenes, in Ocarina of Time they are used in a few select scenes, and the transition is jarring, OOT 3d fixes this shit yes.
>still no texture hack that enhances all the textures from OOT/MM using machine learning
>I'm glad playstion devs knew the value of playable framerates
Which devs? Most PS1 shit I recall hits around the 20fps mark if it's not a racing or fighting title.
most were 30.
Especially platformers, how the fuck anyone can play something like banjo at 15-20fps is beyond me.
Looks bad. The input texture is just too low a resolution for any upscaler.
It's just sophisticated upscaling, sometimes it works other times it doesn't. With enough time and skill making new HD textures is more worthwile, as long as it sticks to the original style.
If you killed yourself I wouldn't be upset at all.
Can someone explain this to me?
Is this the 3DS zelda game file you download or something?
It is a patch. You need the actual game cart or a cia file to use it. And even then you still need a modded 3DS to use it, but 3DS modding is very easy now.
how do you mod a 3ds
Ice Arrows only work outside the temple in Great Bay after clearing the dungeon. It's something about changing water checks for every area.
Google "3ds hacks guide". Should be the first result with a url of the same name. Follow it word for word, T to T, dot to dot. Unless there has been a new official firmware update on the 3DS, they all should be open to modding now. Just do some quick skimming on the procedures, so it'll be smooth when you execute it. Shouldn't take you more than two hours.
You may want to invest in a hefty SD card, or a microSD if you have an n3DS. 64gigs is pretty good, and is like 20 bucks usually.
Or you can just emulate it if you dont want the hassle of goofing around with hacking a real 3DS.
but portability
True
The more I look at this, the more I realize that the textures are mostly flat. How can this look so good with such low amounts of detail? How the hell do you make a low poly game like this?
>t. How can this look so good
it doesn't
>A mod that takes the remake and turns it into the original
Why not just play the original?
