The only reason daisy got in is because it was easy enough to make her a no effort clone of peach. She's alph tier, just with her own slot. Waluigi would require effort to create, but he isn't a character that is worth putting effort into so he'll never be in smash.

Waluigi doesn't work as an echo of anyone because of his body type while Daisy does due to sharing one with Peach, because of this he's not getting in because he's not worth the effort of designing from the ground up. The fact that Sakurai went out of his way to make Plant over Waluigi should prove this.

You will notice that his SSF2 moveset took a lot of liberties and resorted to spin off moves, it only shows how bottom of the barrel he is. DK became his own thing after country, so did Yoshi after Island, Wario after Land and Ware, and Luigi after SMB2 and Mansion, Waluigi has nothing. Gameplay wise he is boring as shit and you can at best give him spin off moves which aren't special since any Mario character can use them (hell, Peach has spin off moves). Until he gets his own game to grow a fucking identity it is reasonable to keep him as an AT.
Daisy was a lazy alt. They didn't even bothered to give her SML inspired moves. They obviously did it since she had the same body type as Peach.

If anything, SSF2's moveset is more closely linked to Waluigi's character and appearances than most Mario characters in Smash as it is. He's also clearly not boring as shit as well - his side b is a take on Luigi's but it homes in on opponents, his down b is Piranha Plant with the exact same animations from Ultimate as a slap in the face to Sakurai, and his neutral b is a Mario Party dice block with effects like Game & Watch's hammer.

Waluigi has more than enough identity to be a fighter, and could be the most creative and wacky choice yet by just using moves from spin offs, simply because he's been in so many different ones they all make up who he is now. He needs no game, he's perfect as it is.

The most exciting additions for Smash have been the Nintendo ones. K Rool, Ridley, even Isabelle (her tweet from the AC twitter has the most likes of any of the characters). A lot of the DLC except for Banjo (who was owned by Nintendo) were very controversial with people either liking them (mostly because they like anything) and others hating them. This was definitely true of Terry though I've seen Yea Forums liking it more than say Twitter.

There is enough Nintendo stuff to work with. After this game, you easily have a fucking truck load of characters from Switch titles that could work. And as they add more characters, the Nintendo ones are the ones becoming more consistently liked. i mean Hell there are probably more people excited for Geno, a one-off Mario character, than there are for most non-Nintendo characters. People liked guest when they had something to do with Nintendo.

>Side B: Thwimpy wallop
Based on the thwimps from SMW and similarly to Zero Suit Samus, Thwomp hops in a large arc which goes either left or right. Good for recovery and quick maneuvers.
>Up B: Grindel spin
Based on the Grindel from Mario 64, Thwomp spins in the air and can deal multiple hits to opponents. The move can be moved around freely, making it good for avoiding edgeguards
>Final smash
Thwomp smashes down onto their opponent, sending them to a dark castle in which they are surrounded by other variations of thwomps. The camera zooms up to show a giant thwomp, which crushes the opponent and sends them flying.

Not a Waluigifag, but you do know the game already has mechanics in place for disabling certain assist trophies under certain conditions, right? Nikki can't appear on any stage with a black background, for example.
