ly bad
How did Rocksteady fuck up so tremendously

fpbp
The only good thing about the game was the graphics and the impeccably modeled asses.

Playing it thanks to PSPlus for the 6th time after playing on PC, just to see how it performs when optimized. It's damn good.

I remember playing this game thinking "Man I can't wait to see what the bosses are like"

And then the credits rolled

It's the best one.

Here's the true KINO opinion:

Knight > Asylum > Origins > City

Attached: okhand.jpg (650x651, 48K)

>worst main story
>second worst side quests
>shoe horned joker
>batmobile

A masterpiece ruined by the awful batmobile/tank sections

The fact that AFTER the patches it bluescreened my computer 6 times while doing a playthrough aside, yeah it's pretty good. Tank isn't good but it's not as shit as people say, driving the batmobile is fun, knowing they had to include joker I think they did something unique and made it work. Jason Todd being Jason Todd is also fine except for rocksteady lying and saying duhhh no it's not him! The dlc is fucking horrendous

The issue with AK’s main story is that when it comes to “HURR I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU I KNOW ALL YOUR SECRET” villains, in Batman’s case there’s only like three villains in his franchise that are like that, and one of them hasn’t shown up since the DCAU.
The side-stories and missions were god-tier, though.

Attached: 99EB4B19-198C-4991-8BE3-7B85C9E8B7A2.jpg (1200x880, 162K)

Batmobile sections are pretty easy to get through, it's problem there was repetition. Some of the side quests are great and most importantly it's FUN, which is always a bonus with video games.

Honestly fuck the joker he felt so fucking forced HE WAS IN THE 3 GAMES BEFORE WHY EVEN INCLUDE HIM IN THIS ONE FFS

>city lowest
pleb

imagine being this wrong

Because Batman without the Joker doesn’t sell these days
Example: Beware the Batman

I really don't understand the hate with the batmobile. It handles well, the environmental puzzles are creative and the tank fights forces you to be on your toes and juggle different weapons and means to destroy the drone. They did a great job making it an "extension" of the brawling combat system.

What do you mean user?
Remember that epic Deathstroke fight?

Attached: 8CF30A51-A41A-40A2-92D8-7A6290443783.jpg (1280x720, 136K)

Considering they've had three games without a single decent boss, it was probably for the best.

No, freeze and deathstroke were garbage too.

Because it's pretty clear from the outset that the base Arkham trilogy is a story about Batman and the joker...

It was boring and tedious

You got it completely backwards

Objectively correct opinion. Fuck City nostalgiafags

It’s just that it’s overused.
Like having it makes sense in a city environment and the Batmobile itself handled extremely well, but it was used a LOT.
I personally would’ve like some Batwing/Batplane gameplay.

But they didn’t even advertise the fact he was in the game it was meant to be a surprise

The fact that this game doesn't have any good bosses is a huge disappointment in and of itself.

Like come on, Arkham Origins was at least getting somewhere with its boss fights. This was a huge step back.

Based, you guys can come over after school and bounce on the trampoline

Pleb City and Origins’ bosses were great

>Origins was going somewhere
None of Arkham's boss fights are good, but origins boss fights are such bargain bin shit. The Deathstroke boss fight in particular is gay as hell

I watched batman vs superman the other night. Honestly, don't get what the hate towards it was. It was an interesting take.

>But they didn’t even advertise the fact he was in the game it was meant to be a surprise
Don’t tell me you actually believed that, user.

I disagree then. It required more situational awareness than the brawling at some points. Using EMP, drone virus, missile barrage and dodge thrusters all in tandem made even the 50-drone fights engaging.

It was the main selling point for this entry. I remember when the game was revealed, people were already complaining about another Batman game and the formula becoming stale/rehashed. It makes sense to have it as the central new feature to build the game around after 3 prior Arkham games in the past 5 years.

Deathstroke boss was the best the series ever had. Not the greatest thing but it was decent and the fact that WB didn't let their Montreal team make more of them like it was planned was a huge loss. A rival fight in a Batman game is a stellar idea.

director's cut?
thought there was too much lois and not enough clark and action but imo this is the best live action batman to date

Bane, Deathstroke, and Firefly were great Copperhead and roid rage Bane were the only bad ones

It started with the Martha meme, then everyone and their mom rode it and started memeing that it was the worst movie ever made. The Mouse probably shilled the meme everywhere too. People are a lot more forgiving for BvS Ultimate edition and say that that should've been shown instead.

>MARTHA
>terrible casting for Lex Luthor
>Batman killing(?) people
>Doomsday
There was a lot to like about it, but there was a lot wrong with it.

Zack Snyder does some really over the top "Look how smart I am" garbage like sitting superman in front of a stained glass Jesus but you're right, it isn't THAT bad, wasn't THAT good either. But the mainstream cult of marvel can't handle 2 superhero franchises so they get all weird and defensive.

I was hopeful Joker was finally gone for good and they’d focus on Scarecrow despite the twist in Origins

>Bane
Bane was good up until they decided to throw mooks at you like EVERY other Arkham boss. Road Rage Bane was alright too in all honesty even though it was basically just a variation of the Mr. Freeze fight.

Firefly was awful.

He was fucking dead how was I supposed to know they’d have that retarded blood storyline?

Got this free on PS+. How would a total newcomer to the series fare?

>Origins bosses are great
I hate this meme. They were glorified QTEs that were ripped straight from the Ra's fight in City.

Check this: imgur.com/a/qm0yR

Sad part is the "Origins had the best bosses" narrative is always repeated in Arkham discussions and now people see the game with rose-tinted glasses.

>I was hopeful Joker was finally gone for good and they’d focus on Scarecrow despite the twist in Origins
Honestly AK did a lot of favors for Scarecrow as a character. It moved him up in the Batman Rogues danger list, gave more general popularity, and even secured him a spot in the Injustice 2 roster.

It's batman......you'll be fine

There's a fine difference between wanking yourself over using only terrible D-listers nobody cares about and just not having Joker

I liked autistic zoomer Lex

Martha was bad enough but fucking exposition robot Lois Lane having to point out that it was his mom's name fucked everything even further.

>Batman killing(?) people
that was the best thing about that batfleck though

>He was fucking dead how was I supposed to know they’d have that retarded blood storyline?
This is the same company that lied about Jason Todd not being the main villain despite the fact that either him or Hush had any chance of being the Arkham Knight.

I’d say you should play the other games first but it’s a decent game to jump into
Combat and exploring the city are fun

It's a direct sequel so ALOT of the context will be lost without playing at least City first. I highly recommend playing Asylum and City beforehand, they hold up quite well.

no need to play the previous ones, go ahead
it's a damn good game

Faggot incel Lex seemed fine, there'd be no point in making him some built Chad. He needed to be a little impotent faggot who is jealous of our handsome Mexican superman

>I liked autistic zoomer Lex
It’s just that DCAU Lex set the standard for me so I was just disappointed with what I saw.

Attached: 61EB85D7-8488-468A-9DA7-78ECDA479FCC.png (500x375, 151K)

And again how was I supposed to know about the Arkham Knight twist before the game came out?
Rocksteady never made any story decisions on that retarded level in their other games I gave them the benefit of the doubt

>He needed to be a little impotent faggot who is jealous of our handsome Mexican superman
Cavill is a bong, though.

Garbage opinion. Actually embarrassing.

Knight>Asylum>City>Origins

Attached: dickbabs.jpg (1080x1080, 159K)

The GCPD gradually getting full with inmates Batman locks up through the course of the night was so comfy. And the movie studios section (teaming up with Robin against Harley and her goons) was peak kino.

The more I think about it, this game was definitely one of the best this gen and I might even rank it as the best Arkham game.

Its actually my favorite next to Asylum. City and Origins were just fucking bad. Arkham 5 when?

>People are a lot more forgiving for BvS Ultimate edition and say that that should've been shown instead.
This. I pirated the Ultimate Edition a while back and it was MILES better than the theatrical release.

>and one of them hasn’t shown up since the DCAU

same, over time i grew to like millenial lex but still think billy zane is made for the part

I've played through Asylum, City and Origins 3 times. Only finished Knight one time and I have no interest of doing it again because of the Batmobile, tank battles, Riddler races, lack of boss battles, and stupid ending.

Take it back, hombre

Attached: t-Henry-Cavill-Mustache-Face.jpg (778x519, 82K)

Firefly was fun because of how flashy it was
Hooking him with the bat claw, flying through the air, and yanking him down was satisfying

I personally would’ve liked the guy they casted for Dr. Sivana.

It was okay, but the counter timing being thrown off for that one fight was really weird. Still got that achievement for no damage, though.

Got this on ps plus, played it for a few hours and haven’t touched it since. This is so weird because I remember having a lot of fun with Asylum and City like 6 years ago and I thought Origins was okay. Just now playing Knight I was really bored and it wasn’t very fun. Have I just gotten bored of the formula or were the games always not that good?

>Deathstroke boss was the best the series ever had.
>Press counter to win

City is boring and not as tight of an experience as asylum, the open world is dead and bland making it not as good as knight. Don't @ me

What sort of sorcery did Rocksteady use to make this game look so good and have no loading using UE3? The presentation is so seamless that I don't want to close the game since the action is literally non-stop. This alone makes the game much better than Spiderman.

Attached: catwoman_AK.jpg (1920x1080, 1.44M)

god awful PC port and rushed ending sequence, which the extended version is locked behind a huge grind, and isn't even that much better

is there a mod to make it so the extended ending always plays?

You guys remember when Arkham City was praised as having one of the best stories in video games? That's just fucking hilarious to me. Not only is its story terrible, it also has the worst story out of all the Arkham games. Knight's story is actually pretty solid, even if everyone knew Jason Todd was going to be in it.

>Roid Bane
>goons everywhere
>build up combo with Shock Gloves
>Bane does a shockwave that knocks down mooks
>instant Batarang takedown
>fight Babe solo from then on

I lost my shit when I discovered that.

Arkham Knight is focused on the open world and batmobile while the other games were more tightly designed
Replay Asylum or City you’ll be much more engaged

What point did you get to in the story?

Don't know why so many people were butthurt about the Catwoman design change. Poison Ivy I can kind of understand but that Catwoman is huge improvement. She's freaking cute.

>Catwoman never found out who Batman was until after he “died”
>we never got to see her reaction to Scarecrow unmasking him

Attached: E144E5B7-585A-4CB0-A9E2-5FDCE9C3068C.jpg (992x975, 113K)

What's the martha stuff?

yeah we were in fucking tanks. arkham origins had an actual legit deathstroke boss fight

City had ONE good boss, everything else was the same crap as the rest of the series

>City bad because open world
>Knight good because open world but even bigger
???

All i ever hope is that the freak from metropolis will never get a game again. Fuck that faggot moralfag.

City has the worst design of all of them. The pacing, the story, the structure, everything suffers because they wanted to crowbar as many villains as possible into it.

City's main problem is that the plot gets hijacked by Joker for a fetch quest right when you start caring about what Strange might be up to.

Then it's just a missile strike Batman foils easily in half an hour.

could have ended it much better I agree, bamham could have taken his cat waifu and left gotham for good after faking his death. ending was rushed crap imo, although it had so many strong moments up until that moment

City was the best because it had the most villains Batman had to fight through in one night which was cool. The story never got old.

Being a Batman game and having it take place at night makes it easier to obscure the rough parts with pretty effects and cleverly placed lighting.
Pretty genius.

Isn't that typical of those big ass batman comics? Halloween for example was batman going from villain to villain and getting sidetracked because of villains.

>Batman and Superman are duking it out
>Batman has Superman on the ropes
>he’s about to stab him with his Kryptonite spear
>Superman tries to tell him that he’s letting Lex kill his mother, Martha Kent, who Lex has taken hostage in order to get Batman and Superman to fight
>Batman says “WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!” because his dead mom is also named Martha
>this causes him to hesitate and let Lois intervene, who explains everything
>they stop fighting and agree to stop Lex

City is bad because the open world consists of just dudes under street lamps. Knight is good because cops are chasing criminals downs, caravans are moving, you can see criminals stealing cars. Things are happening in Arkham Knight, city is the most bogstandard open world where nothing is interacting, it's just things stuck in place

Still much better than boring Ubisoft Knight
Things were constantly happening in the story and there were actual boss battles

Zack Snyder thought he was clever for noticing Batman and Superman's moms have the same first name

Firefly was the most obvious "Hey, the only games with boss fights we ever played was the N64/GCN Zelda games, so here's this shitty puzzle fight boss where we give the incredibly obvious solution to the fight to the player like three times and make the whole thing move at a snail's pace." I was so frustrated during that fight because anyone with half a brain knew what to do but they still wasted so much time showing the solution.

It was possible to just straight up attack Deathstroke or just use the Batclaw on him to open him up.

Damn, I'm going to have to try that out one day. It's nice that they thought to have some actual tech there.

Asylum is the only good Arkham game

PROTOCOL 10

Longest Halloween was essentially about the rise of Gotham’s costumed rogues and the fall of the organized crime families.

>incrediblely

That’s because City isn’t a real open world it’s just like a bigger version of Asylum’s map between dungeons
And at least City doesn’t have shit checklist side missions like “blow up 20 towers, disable 20 bombs, take out 20 checkpoints, rescue 10 firefighters” etc

Not with that sorry excuse of a final boss it isn’t.

if that's the only metric, every Arkham game is trash

>Things were constantly happening in the story
Playing through Knight now and there's a ton of stuff happening in the story/game world. Two-face is robbing banks, Firefly is burning buildings, Penguin is smuggling weapons, Riddler has Catwoman hostage, Militia is running wild, etc. and those are just sidequests.

youtube.com/watch?v=a-qbYUbBB-o

How did they get away with it?

Attached: based rocksteady.jpg (1920x1200, 293K)

Because it's like 70 percent of the game.

Grundy was ok and Ras and Clayface were fun to fight if only for how over the top they were
Every boss was an improvement over the garbage bosses from Asylum

Exactly, and Arkham City is placing all those costumed rogues into an enclosed area to serve as their prison, where the story is at.

>yfw

Attached: shit pants.jpg (1280x720, 82K)

>press counter
>Deathstroke slaps you in the face

No.

Reminder that this is literally the best add-on mission.

Attached: AE71A886-169E-40EC-AE8D-1BC4F6F8CD5C.jpg (1280x720, 152K)

They did a similar thing with Batman carrying Harley in Knight and even having subtle jiggle physics on her ass. Honestly Rocksteady might be one of the last based western devs.

Attached: ak_harleydlc.webm (1920x1080, 1M)

>hey remember that incredible boss fight from City?
>yeah, the one everyone still talks about and holds up as one of the best boss fights in video games
>well he's back!
>and guess how we end his mission!
>that's right!
>ANOTHER FUCKING TANK BATTLE
I was so fucking mad

>Joker does it to you a few rooftops later and laughs at you and the face you made when manbat scared you
bro...it just startled me I wasn't scared or anything! Fuck you!

>Arkham Asylum
>clearly City
>Tara Strong's grating Harley voice

Are any of the other DLCs good?

and it's all raining and wet and reflective, so it looks fucking gorgeous

very effective and simple trick, props to them

She looks more or less the same as City, though. Ivy was made worse, definitely.

Freeze's DLC is utter trash, but Croc and Racer Cool are decent.

Freeze's boss fight in City was frustrating more than anything.

None of these had any bearing on the main story which is complete shit
Also almost every side mission is repeated multiple times
>Two Face is robbing banks stop him 3 times
>Penguin is running arms shipments destroy his stash with Nightwing 5 times
>Firefly is burning buildings chase after him and punch him 3 times
>all of the militia side missions are literal checklists
It just feels so lazy the only ones that stand out are Pyg, Manbat, and Hush(who had all of his potential flushed away by being relegated to a side mission and instantly beaten in a cutscene)

No save your money

This game had a bunch of jumpscares. Even those when you're in first-person with Gordon and Batman comes behind you or at the end in the dream sequence with Joker.

They used some camera trickery too with Joker's face on billboards and statues throughout Gotham. Pretty cool way to show Batman slowly losing his mind.

Was this scarecrow supposed to be the same one from asylum?

only for smoothbrains

And yet it's still better than the fat lot of fucking nothing populating Arkham city

yes, but he has a different VA

Looks pretty different to me.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 112K)

I love how they don't shove it in your face so inevitably every player is gonna have a "was that always like that" moment.

>Superman says "Save Martha" not "Save my mother" just so this contrived situation can happen

Woulda been good but those bat mobile sections fucking SUCKED

Why do so many of you guys hate city? Is it because the story and tone are shit compared to asylum? The goty boxart? Poison Ivy getting a titty downsize?

I don't know why everyone jerks off over the freeze boss fight so much. It was just do a handful of stealth takedowns on an enemy dumber than the usual mooks.

I’ll take the minimal side content in City like Deadshot, Zsaz, the Mad Hatter, and Hush any day over the Ubisoft open world garbage in Knight
The focus was always kept on the main story with few distractions that’s why City has such great pacing compared to Knight

I didn't even mind battank but the whole "USE THE BATMO-TOWING CABLE sections were gay as fuck
It's just not that good. Asylum is a neat casual metroidvania, city is an average uninspired action game

The ones that are repeated are designed solely for gameplay configurations. Like the bank robberies get tougher as predator sections, militia checkpoints are a test of combat with increased varying enemies, Penguin safehouses are combat sections double-teaming with Nightwing, etc. I get it's "repeated" in terms of context but you're essentially playing more of the game and getting better with the gameplay mechanics.

>origins not at the absolute bottom affter dogshit
>knight above asylum
>city last place??????

Attached: 144.jpg (680x464, 99K)

>Is it because the story and tone are shit compared to asylum?
this part, also the shift to open world over a more 3D-Metroidvania style like Asylum while still trying to do a "bottle episode" story missed the point of what made Asylum good.

Meh it just feels like padding to me to extend playtime

>game so good it gets removed from Steam

Strange was so poorly handled that it makes me angry every time I think about it.

I like City, it had a good balance of what made the series fun to play.

Please buy flum epic stol ferrow gueilo

Sure it can be regarded as padding but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Especially when the game is so seamless you could just glide over to a checkpoint, do your thing and fly out without interruption, something that a bunch of other games suffer from (ex. Spiderman and loading warehouses).

City is my favorite because of the prison city setting, perfect pacing, and fun boss battles
And despite some problems with cramming too many villains in I think it’s the best story in the series if only for the ending(which Knight ruins by bringing Joker back again)

Asylum poison ivy is easily the most fappable incarnation.

Brave and the Bold was top kino and barely had the Joker.

Really want Rocksteady to take on Bladerunner, Batman Beyond or even the Matrix. They're all WB properties too iirc.

Paul Dini wrote for Countdown. He's not infallible.

This. It’s a downgrade from City, maybe even Asylum.

>Batman beyond jetboots Ace combat sections never ever
Sucks

In love I've always been a mercenary but I never leave my post when the cash runs out

I like how they treated Asylum as just another night for batman. Not a huge fan of the overarching plot they decided to go with.

Oh, okay, I see it now.

Honestly looks like Knight made an improvement.

Knight bringing back Joker as a hallucination wasn't a bad idea. Retconning the Joker blood into magic transform-into-Joker juice was the problem.

And the worst part is that the story still treats Joker like a villain even though he was likely affected by whatever was making everyone else evil.

can this run on a 1060 6gb?

>"No one is a island, Bruce"
I think she knew for a LOOONG time.

I liked origins because I'm a sucker for snow. Also that dumb "jingle bells Batman smells" joke they threw into a side mission.

true. point still stands his writing for asylum and city is some of the best in the myhtos of batman as a whole, both in terms of story and dialogue.
i dont think any writer wrote joker better than he did in all of his career

why do people hate origins again?

Is the season pass worth it? It's a ps plus game and the dlcs are on sale right now.

Not even slightly. The dlc is all trash

Only thing I hated were the bugs. I enjoyed everything else. Roger Craig Smith is a surprisingly good Batman.

not really

Black mask gets turbo cucked by joker. Gay gadgets, lackluster roster of villains, no Kevin Conroy or Mark Hamill.

because I fell through the floor 15 times trying to meet Shiva then as soon as I got past that hit a fatal crash going into the police station that made me lose an hour of progress

not a fan of the map

also making no sense in context with the previous games, having an overwhole shit story without anything new to offer in terms of gameplay.
honestly the only good thing to come out of that game was the deathstroke boss fight and that it

Attached: Untitled.jpg (3040x2157, 1.65M)

Also
>Trying to bait the audience by killing Alfred in a prequel

I like the Batgirl and Harley Quinn ones the rest are just meh. They're all fairly short though.

>fell through the floor
I had to restart the whole game when that happened at the bank. Game saved right when I entered so I couldn't do shit about it.

it was full of these things, its like it ignored asylum and city completly
>batman has gadgets he didnt have in asylum and only got fot the first time in city
>meeting characters he was supposed to meet for the first time during asylum/city

It lacked the polish, great level design, and gothic art style of the other games and the Joker reveal was disappointing
It’s the best portrayal of Bane in the series and had some really good bosses and I dug the Christmas theme
Overall it’s a solid game I wish WB games got another chance to make an Arkham game

Give me a rundown on what happened to Killer Croc so I don't have to buy the dlc please.

>grapnel boost is a prototype experiment in city
>is standard issue in origins
Is it a different universe or something?

He raped and killed a girl in 1990

No no you're thinking of Bob Saget.

He got captured and experimented on by Argus and now he’s mutated into a Godzilla looking monster
You beat him up with Nightwing before he can get revenge on the doctors and lock him up again

Oh sorry, thought you were talking about the Full House DLC

Thanks
Still can't believe that won goty all on its own

The Croc fight with Nightwing and Batman was pretty cool.

It was just a reskin of the Gotham Goliath fight with Robin

WHOA MOM LOOK AT THE PARTICLE EFFECTS!
Game literally made for mouth breathers.

I was severely dissappointed that all the gadgets were just recoloured stuff from city

Arkham VR was pretty cool. Wish they made a full fledged game out of it.

I love how the riddler went from a guy who leaves clues in Arkham asylum to building race tracks, what a puzzle

Autism is a powerful thing

>hahaHA batman i will finally prove i am smarter than you by making you drive your car really fast

>implying Riddler isn't a demon on the race track
It takes a high IQ to be a good driver everyone knows that

i fucking hate how bats looks in brave and bold though

how would batman know that martha was supes adopted mothers name

He looked like a buff Adam West Batman.

the better question is why would Superman call his mom Martha as he's about to die

because superman isnt as dumb as hes made out to be and knows that martha is also batmans mother's name

>t-they're okay guys, really!

How did he know that?

God I love playing as Harley and making her bend over

It's great. But the combat is too fast, I can't just sit back and enjoy the thing.

I guess he could say mom if he wanted to.

Yeah its the best out of the trilogy

I wish her DLC was longer than 10 minutes

Real talk. How fucked are all these guys whose limbs he's broken over and over again?

You can download her skin for the fighting/stealth missions, have her make a pose then go into photo mode. Endless fun

look at it this way: being crippled for life means you can no longer commit violent crime!

>marvel avengers games on the way
>no news on next dc game
What is rocksteady planning?

Attached: 143120641108.jpg (648x484, 131K)

because
A. he already knows batman is bruce wayne because x ray vision sees his face under the mask and met him several times
B. hes a reporter and would have looked him up
C. bruce waynes parents being murdered was a media blitzstorm that could not possibly have been missed by superman once he glances at news archives

I wonder how he permanently stops rapists haha.

Kind of this, adding the fear takedown is just like pressing fast forward, weird choice to skip gameplay like that.
But the upcoming ghost of fukushima game seems to have adopted it too.

>fukushima
too bad its console only and therefor utterly ignorable. wake me up when its on pc aka the only acceptable platform

now if only any of that was in the movie and not left up to assumption

average recovery time for broken bones is 6-8 weeks. give or take a week or two based on which bone it is and whether its a compound or not

except it is
superman meets bruce wayne at the party and instantly recognizes him as batman (since he encounters batman earlier)

multiple breaks on the same bone would lead to permanent damage

and that's assuming Batman never goes after knees or kidneys, which can lead to some serious long-term damage

That's quite a bit of conjecture we never saw any of this in the movie so we can't assume that's what happened
Superman also isn't cunning enough to manipulate Batman in that way it's not in his character

and bats nearly always goes for joints

There's probably some serum they can take to heal quick or gain powers if they wanted to.

Sucker Punch is really being wasted on that game instead of making another Infamous

Superman knowing Batman is Bruce Wayne is not an assumption. Everything else is.

It also assumes Superman is actually manipulating Batman and not terrified Luthor is about to kill his mother while he can't do anything about it.

Batman goes for max pain to end the fight so that includes liver shots and joint dislocation

Even in the old games it was funny because sometimes the physics would cause a thug to fall off an 8 story building or into an electrified puddle. Hell in asylum you can cause a guy to fall into joker gas which I assume is rapidly fatal.

>asylum
top tier game only lacking gameplay elements from the following games
>city
top tier game again but inconsistent with the "i'm dying lol not really" throughout
>origin
comfy snow
>knight
forced batmobile tank sections are as far from stealth gameplay as one can get, everyone knew from the start who the bad guy was and not the smoothest pc port ever but otherwise great game

Fuck all of you I absolutely loved the combat in this game

>costumed dude is beating the fucking shit out of people
>branding them with a bat which usually gets them killed in prison
>x ray vision his ass and find out hes bruce wayne
>look up bruce wayne
>hmm parents were murdered in front of him as a child
>clearly that traumatic event pushed him towards vigilantism
>moms name is martha hey thats my moms name too

its not that big a stretch to try saying the name martha to unhinge or even just make bats pause. like i said superman is not a dumb as everyone makes him out to be.

Nobody said it was bad fag, like one or two contrarians

no one says knight has bad combat
its all the batmobile shit that pisses people off

he's not dumb, but calling your mother by her first name in a moment of emotional duress makes him seem inhuman, which granted he is, but the whole point of the character is that he actually isn't. It's a poor characterization moment for a Superman that was already criticized for being too distant and aloof.

The combat is universally praised it's everything else that's the problem

Joker was fine in Knight. He was pointless and should not have been in Origin. Origin actually ruined the Joker for Knight. Asylum, City, and Knight were meant to be a trilogy about Batman's psychological struggle with himself and the escalation of his Rogue's gallery, with Joker being front and center because Joker is basically Batman's shadow.

Knight actually did an excellent job of showing this with the Joker sequences being how Batman sees himself.

The "race tracks" were just boring and shitty. The sheer number of "destroy the mine by fighting a bunch of boring tanks" was about 10 missions too many; same with the APC lieutenants. The sheer amount of resources spent on the Bat-tank meant there were very few actual levels, which is where Asylum excelled and even City did better, and city suffered a lot on that front by doing the open world thing in the first place.

Give me your superman game ideas.

It literally can’t be done without handicapping him somehow, maybe so early Superman where he can’t fly and can only jump high?

Maybe he was trying to keep his identity secret still and instead of saying mom he said Martha.

you play as parasite

Starro is mind-controlling the Justice League and he can't go full force against them because he would kill them by accident. Add other Superman villains like Mongul, Metallo and Brainiac.

You could do a rpg type game where his powers just level up and get stronger.

why the fuck would saying his mother's real name hide his identity, but saying "mom" wouldn't?

Square is the new R1.

asylum > city > knight > origins

But that just sounds awful. The guy can go from ground to space in fucking seconds. I can’t imagine the shitty invisible skyboxes you bump into when you’re going Mach 4 around the map

I never got around to playing it but I read it has the best world in the series? Is it true? The level design is what I enjoyed most about these games

More a turn base type rpg. Where you aren't necessarily flying. Sort of like Justice League Hero's game.

>City that low
>City below Origins, which is 80% City
>Asylum that high
"but muh atmosphere" Asylum's gameplay is bare bones as shit compared to every other entry in the series. Playing it after City is boring as all hell.

Attached: 1396418583201.jpg (470x425, 28K)

Batman clearly doesn't know why he said Martha so he doesn't know Clark is Superman. Martha could make it seem like he just wanted to help some civilian. I haven't seen the movie since it came out so I don't really remember it very well.

It has the largest map but it honestly feels like just a larger Arkham city

None of these games have particularly strong gameplay, but Asylum has by far the best level design and story.

hmm, I actually preferred 1's overworld

Kino superman, not godtier invincible but actually got his ass handed from time to time.

Attached: 20190825151328_1.jpg (800x439, 70K)

1 has the best setting but after getting accustomed to the later games fighting it feels so slow and handicapped trying to play through

City peaked at the freeze fight

This but with Superman and more developed combat

Attached: 220px-Asura's_Wrath_Cover_Art.png (330x351, 269K)

The story is serviceable it just feels like another night for Batman
The ending with Titan Joker also kind of ruined it
I think City has a better story overall despite how cluttered it can feel at times

That's not the kino ending

incredibly bad

Objectively wrong.

True order is.

Asylum > City >> Knight >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> pile of dog shit > origins.

>Batman killing(?) people
Good for variety. People forget that Kane made Batman a traumatized psychopath who went vigilante rather than typical anti-social psychopath.

Modern Batman is good for the questions of psychological damage, moral responsibility, and escalation of someone who refuses to kill. But old school Kane (and actually Tim Burton's Batman) are actually much better about the question of exactly what type of person decides to dress up as a Bat and fight crime, without having to stress believability beyond the breaking point with things like, "He just hit that guy with a FUCKING TANK at 60mph, but he's ok because lol electrical field just stunned him. And let's not mention the obvious TBIs handed out like candy from skull fucking every opponent with sap gloves."

They both have their appeals

>crediting Kane over Finger
you don't deserve to talk about Batman

>Superman power level around TAS
>Clark has been Superman for 2 years(of which 1 he was just jumping around and wearing t-shirt)
>Just found some of his basic powers, doesn't know his limits
>Just started at the DP
>Already have some enemies

Gameplay
>Three bars, Siperman's health bar, city's health bar and solar bar
>Flying would be based around DB games and Superman Returns
>Combat is more about dealing with enemies fast and without causing too much colateral damage
>Superman isn't afraid of getting punched, enemies will combo him if they land the first hit
>When combat starts, a large area will have lights showing the combat zone, and a bar will show up representing the area being evacuated, you have to contain the villians and protect the people. Once the area is evacuated, the lights will change color and you cause no damage to the city
>Combat should be in large scale and spetacular.
>Civilians will get caught during the battle but major situation will happen, you have to pick one of many options and the right powers to prevent the upcoming disaster
>Saving civilians should be on par with the thrill of combat and over the top, but not too repetitive
>Some random events will happen which will need you to save the way, like preventing a airplan from crashing, Bank robbery, burning building or a muggin
>Mxy and Toyman's challenges and puzzles
>When you fly above the clouds, you will get super charged, solar bar will extend and Superman will deal more damage, taking damage will be taken from the solar bar and powers are improved
>While up in the sky you can hear and see commum events and you can fly toward them

Villians
>Brainiac (as the big bad of the game)
>Wraith
>Metallo
>Parasite
>Toyman
>Livewire
>Mongul
>Desespero
>Lex Luthor(not a major villian but he is a major figure in the game)
>Bizarro
>Faora and Nem-Ek(hitting Zod as the villian of the second game)
>Darkseid (hinted as the final villian of the series)
>Kalibak
>Intergang
>Steppenwolf

Attached: 1526586997867.jpg (564x902, 34K)

I keep thinking that developers are 100% not taking advantage of the medium itself when making a batman game since killing should be something left to the player. A batman game should be something like chaos theory meets MGSV but without guns and more gadgets instead

>managing city's health bar
>can't cause too much collateral damage
This just sounds unfun but the rest would be good

it's proven to be unfun by the Superman Returns game

Attached: 45738587683756.jpg (1920x1080, 573K)

Just make a fuck-around power fantasy game like prototype or saints row 4 but even more stacked in your favor. Course that's a horrible idea and would never be made.

>and have no loading using UE3?
the UE3 Engine was extremely modded, that's why it had so many bugs

Attached: Azrael.jpg (2560x1440, 352K)

>Saving civilians should be on par with the thrill of combat and over the top, but not too repetitive
>>but not too repetitive
I've been thinking about this. I study psychology and I'm especially interested in memory and cognition. It is accepted that our short-term memory is more or less 7+/-2 "items" depending if you can group them together. So making 10 truly different ways to save citizens should make it feel refreshing until you put those ways in long-term memory.

Give me your Arkham Beyond ideas Yea Forums.

Attached: batman_beyond_villains_by_legion472-d8d8sjh.jpg (1920x1440, 2.9M)

nah its shit. Knight is by far the worst in the series, and that includes Origins

Attached: batman_computer.jpg (500x314, 17K)

fuck you buddy Origins boss fights were great

A sleek suit as opposed to that tacticool mess. Also Spellbinder sections like the Scarecrow ones, but even stranger, and sidequests where you track down Inque

Attached: download.jpg (1024x819, 170K)

Animated DC is so great. No other capeshit comes close

>every villain is working together to kill Batman
>Two Face robs banks
>Penguin ships guns
>Riddler is still up to his riddle autism but this time with race tracks
>Harley Quinn suddenly appears to free the Joker blood patients(that she knew about somehow) and is instantly taken down
>no signs of any of them working together in game
What did they mean by this?

Attached: download.jpg (230x219, 8K)

i think it was just more about them all doing it in the same night

It was to wear him down throughout the night

My idea is like this:
Option 1
>Villian shows up
>You fly toward them
>huge red light shows up taking some blocks of the city
>Bar appears showing you how long until area is evacuated
>Hold on the villians until areas is evacuated
>Massive event happens, and you have to find a way to solve it and quickly return to the villian
>Lights are now blue, city takes no damage
>Defeat the villians, city regain health

Option 2:
>Villians shows up
>Red light appears
>Defeat the villians quickly
>No major damage, extra health and xp

Option 3:
>Villian shows up
>Red lights appears
>Grab villian and fly him toward blue zones(construction sites, parks, beach, rural zones)
>Resume combat

My idea would be making rescue civilians just as good as fight goons, with boss battles having over the top rescuing like
>Brainiac destroy some buildings
>You have to knock him out and rush toward the buildings
>Chose between saving the civilians one by one using super speed or repair the buildings with heat vision
>Brainiac has 10 seconds left of stun, you have to decide which option is better
>You fiz the first two, while leaving the other to fall but using your super speed to save ter civilians
Things like airplanes crashes, earthquakes, tsunamis, buildings falling, fire, etc.

Don't watch Batman: Hush

How?
It just seems like most of them are up to their usual business and trying to benefit from the evacuated city rather than actively targeting Batman
Batman just so happens to notice they're up to something and easily stop them just like he always does

Bugs + being just City again but not as good.

I have never fully watched all the episodes in Batman Beyond. Worth a watch? They just released it on bluray. I am a huge Batman the Animated Series fan

Attached: Batman-Gotham-Under-Siege-art-1.jpg (800x800, 215K)

they are. I actually enjoy Origins. I'd much rather play it than Knight

Have you seen Justice League & JLU? They tie together which is actually pretty awesome

Just give me boss fights with Shriek, Inque, Curare, Blight, and Stalker
Also distinguish Terry from Bruce in both personality and fighting style

Attached: 9180-1250600644.jpg (600x900, 84K)

Go be a comic elitist hipster back on Yea Forums, faggot.

If you loved the Animated Series you'll definitely like it, some episodes are up there with the original series' bests

>brings up Bob Kane to give his post a semblance of authority
>gets mad when someone knows slightly more than he does

I have not. Not a huge JLU fan. The only thing DC i truly enjoy is Batman and Watchmen

Cool. I'll give it a go. More than likely I'll just buy it. Shit would take too much HDD space

The funny part is the force they are showing the liver shots would be fatal without immediate medical attention. The liver is incredibly frangible and, naturally, bleeds like a mother fucker. Hitting it hard enough to cause unconsciousness is not a good idea. But like it matters, Bats is using hard knuckle gloves and using those to slam peoples heads into pavements; those criminals are getting a crash a course into 30 years of NFL head trauma in a single fight.

It's a buggy reskin of City. The story also suffers from a bad case of prequelitis. Whe're supposed to believe that Batman fought the Joker for the first time the same night as the Joker met Harley Quinn and Bane found out Batman was Bruce Wayne, among other things. They've just taken a bunch of Batman origin stories and halfassed them into happening in one night, and a lot of it directly contradicts lore that was established in Arkham Asylum.

Beyond also tied Static Shock into DC

Again, go be an elitist hipster faggot elsewhere. Kane was brought up because he is the most widely associated with Batman. No one gives a flying fuck if he was only co-creator/writer.

Attached: Pathetic.png (579x440, 234K)

pretty sure Static Shock had a Justice League crossover before Batman Beyond

he wasn't any sort of creator. He took credit for work others did in all respects. The Batman you credit Kane with creating is almost the sole product of Bill Finger. You can't use his name to pretend to be an authority then get offended when someone calls you out on your ignorance.

Origins is the only game to do Bane justice(though him overdosing on venom and becoming retarded was terrible)
He should have been the main villain instead of Joker

Attached: 200BaneVenomModeActivate.png (1092x712, 705K)

>finds out Batman's identity
>proceeds to trash his mansion and that's it
It was shit. Half-assed version of the Knightfall arc

Batmobile is great though. And tank sections are so few and short you might as well hate a game for hacking or lockpicking minigames

It's literally just an arkham city asset flip

It was hurt by being a prequel and having Joker steal the show again but I still think it was a really good portrayal
Much better than this roid rage retard

>a thread about this games in this year got these many replies
this something special

harley quinn game

runs fine for me

Arkham Knight is such a polarizing game that it always gets people arguing

Played the PC version, 15 min almost made me puke from random camera positions

plz no

>that perfectly chiseled face
Henry Cavill is peak male performance.

Was it kino?

Attached: cold cold.jpg (1280x720, 196K)

it was underwhelming like the rest of origins

No but most DLC's in this series are shit

Attached: 20 years in mspaint.png (306x387, 109K)

Haha not really, it's just ok.

I appreciate that the Batmobile wasn't a half assed addition but it really cucked some boss battles, like Deathstroke was just a glorified tank battle and man was that disappointing also le joker isn't in this game haha we swear it's an original story xD, the final fight with Arkham Knight was also very underwhelming and the way scarecrow goes down, talk about anticlimactic. It had some neat things though.

Professor Pyg was the best part of the game, actual detective work involved and a creepy and unsettling boss fight.

Attached: Professor_Pyg_Prime_Earth_004.jpg (426x479, 53K)

>Asylum has by far the best level design and story
Asylum has the best level design, but Origins has the best story.

>half assed Knightfall mixed with Joker origin story with D-list villains like Copperhead
>best
No

>no signs of any of them working together in game
I swear there was an audio log or something in-game that had Scarecrow invite a number of villains together for a meeting or something of the like to talk about his plans.

My point is we never see this happen with the villains' actions it's just mentioned once or twice but never affects the story

It's still better than Asylum's (essentially a non-story, although I guess that makes it inoffensive at worst), City's (predictable "have to find a cure" plot with a complete waste of Prof. Strange), and Knight's (we promise the Arkham Knight is someone new, except not really).

We had a bunch of good ideas in the last thread.
