Now that we have seen both, which one is better? I would say OSRS because of how good it is to mindlessly multitask.
Oldschool Runescape vs WoW Classic
bump
Make sure to use the non-fandom wikis
osrs
>how good it is to mindlessly multitask.
that's the main thing i do while playing wow though
i just watch youtube videos and do other shit until it actually requires my attention
I've always loved both games. OSRS is just too unique of a game for me to even compare to other MMOs. OSRS definitely has better quests, probably by favorite in any game ever.
You can only multitask in WoW if you have dual monitors, that's what kills it for me
City of Heroes
WoW in general just feels like I'm paying monthly for a crappier rpg than I can just pay outright for. Runescape is just fun relaxing grind.
i got 99 slayer today on my iron man :)
nice
would say osrs if it didnt ruin itself with reddit pandering and altscape slayermeta
grinding for agility dog is comfy though
How did it ruin itself with reddit pandering?
>how good it is to mindlessly multitask.
Why the heck do people think this is a good thing? In no other genre will people say "It's a good game because I don't pay attention to it when I play it" except for cookie clicker mobile games. It's for this reason that many people consider MMOs to be a blight and their fans retarded.
And this is coming from someone who loves RS and holds no ill-will toward WoW. This stupid argument needs to end.
>liking osrs
terrible game, boring combat, economy is fucked, tons of bots, people cheating in pvp, they add stuff to make 99s easier.
Because my ADHD brain can't focus on a game. After 40 minutes I become used to its pacing, so I get bored.
For that same reason my ADHD brain also can't focus on, say, Netflix.
But if I combine both? Then I can squeeze more than 40 minutes from that activity. Usually about two hours, which is unprecedented for my ADHD brain, not even meds can make me focus on entertainment for that long.
If you don't have the same problem then lucky you, user
Both of them have their own merits OP, I don't see why you need to pit them against each other. WoW is fun and engaging, while Runescape rewards time and effort. I never unlocked the fairy network for example but I'm sure it must be the best feeling in the world. I'd say WoW is the natural evolution and, unfortunately, the peak of MMOs. FFXIV is also good but it's just WoW with a different coat of paint
>I don't see why you need to pit them against each other.
Simple. I want to play a MMORPG. These are the two options I am considering. Because my time is a limited resource, I can only choose one, and naturally I want the better option because that's optimal time spending.
>b-but back in reddit we had a rule where you can't say X is better than Y because saying that makes people who like Y sad!!!!
Tough luck buddy, that's what we do the most in this website, get used to it
The smell of reddit is strong on you, user. Perhaps you should lurk more before actually posting
The subreddit is notoriously anti-Ironman. If anything, the good Ironman updates we've got are the opposite of pandering. The sand grinder, for example, got through the vote despite Reddit's petulant whining.
>you're wilfully limiting yourself reeeeeeee!!!
And yet, they lap up Settled's swamp water like a bunch of fucking goons and beg for updates that cater to him only. Such hypocrisy.
The altmeta is disgusting however, especially since new content's XP rates are now balanced around alt account abuse.
This. I haven't played in awhile but it seems like skilling is worthless now. I never really got into the higher end pve stuff because RuneScape is just way too clunky for that to be enjoyable for me. I honestly think ironman is the peak way to experience the game now, the world becomes a lot more meaningful.
I haven't done fishing in a long time because it's dead content
All skilling supplies are provided by bots at a very low price so what's the point
Ironman mode really makes all content worth it. Of course, it's not worth it for everybody since it loses the social/economical aspect.
Group Ironman would fix that too somewhat but it's not Slayer content so it's not worth Jagex's development time.
Group Ironman sounds like the perfect way to fix botting. Just a huge whitelist of players. There would probably be a big main one with thousands of people.
>Why the heck do people think this is a good thing?
I find it relaxing as fuck to just throw a movie/tv show on my 2nd monitor and zone out while mindless grinding.
OSRS would instantly improve if some of the worlds were made Ironman only, sick and fucking tired of normal players who bought everything with their parents credit card running up and forcing me to hop
>HUURRRR I SEE IRON DOING SLAYER SO I HIT MONSTER U FIGHTING HAHA HOP BUDD E
also I will forever vote no on PvP updates because clans and PK are cancer
