what the fuck is with this annoying fucking trend of making me hold down a button to interact in the game rather than just press it?
What the fuck is with this annoying fucking trend of making me hold down a button to interact in the game rather than...
I think Ubisoft popularized that shit and for some reason everyone copied them.
artificial gameplay
More button press more gameplay it’s simple quantum physics retard
>playing console games
Touchscreens.
I don't know, you tell me. I haven't played any games that came out after 2012
the last game that did it to me was on pc
because muh immersion
>keep mashing X to open the door!
>wow it almost feels like im actually opening the door!
fucking christ just let me press it once and play the animation, this is just aggravating
it became a big thing after payday: the heist
it made sense in that game though, holding down a button makes you vulnerable and requires you to be defended
console niggers don't have enough buttons, so holding and pressing for them are two different actions.
shitty console games get ported all the time, retard
just because Witcher 2 and 3 are on PC doesn't mean they aren't inherently console garbage
it wasnt a witcher game
you are a retard and I want you to get off my board
never make another post here
Because people with bad motor skills press buttons accidentally.
no
holy shit we got a stephen hawking over here
It's for consoles, and ports use them too. Shits fucking retarded as hell.
I think you're right. I remember having to do it in Payday a long ass time ago
WOW
What's worse is when those games go full retard and make you hold down the button for 5 seconds instead of 1 or 2 at the most. I get that it's a way to bypass an "Are you sure Y/N?" prompt but needing to hold down for so long is counter-productive.
>launch single player game
>it skips the main menu and starts the game immediately
KEEP THAT SHIT FOR CONSOLES GODDAMN
Pressing the button achieves the same thing though, activates having to wait to finish the task at hand.
Press the button to initiate task, press again to cancel if you need to fight or do something else.
Holding the button serves zero purpose, it's just pointless busy work, and if you need to do something it's better that they make the task interactive and being proficient results in faster activation adding another layer of skill but no just do pointless shit for no reason.
>game doesn't let you open the options menu until the opening cutscene ends and you finish making your character
It's a fake way to make shitty games feel more interactive then actually are.
For example press X to awesome, has become a joke in some places but if you hold X to awesome or mash X to awesome, that's way different and totally great gameplay!
Releasing a button is faster than pushing it
If only we were smellin what he was smellin. Then we would all understandu.
No Man Sky's menus are aids to navigate because of this
Imagine being Pablo.
I remember Destiny did that and I couldn't believe how fucking retarded of a decision it was. What a shit game.
