The original Blade Runner has been my favorite film since I was 11. They used to play the Director's cut on Sci-Fi back when it wasn't SyFy, and before the Final Cut rolled around.

That being said, Cyberpunk and Shadowrun as Franchises were not horribly reliant on flying cars as a mode of transport. A lot of vehicles in campaigns were standard cars/vans, and the only characters who DID have flying cars were rich as fuck, and you hardly ever spent time with that crowd outside of ruining their plans.

As much as I love Cyberpunk aesthetic and everything Blade Runner encompasses, flying cars as a main mode of transportation in CP2077 would be kind of against the theme of the game, and would detract a lot from seeing the grungey side of things.

Because 20 years ago visual interfaces were simple enough that it could be done inexpensively. Nowadays a game even 1/30th the size of something like Daggerfall would run budgets up in the hundreds of millions if fully rendered and realized with the same level of interactivity.

I don't get the appeal of this it's basically just one of those super dense asian inner city areas expanded in 3 dimensions. It doesn't show anything truly new it's just something you can already experience in real life but you fly around instead of on roads, and there's more of it. Despite the lack of roads cars still follow the same boring traffic patterns for the most part. The design is incomplete for what it is as well, the infrastructure makes no sense, there's nowhere to access most all of the buildings or to park your car or get off a bus. There's also nothing else in the sky of interest, no cool use of balconies or floating stations or anything really, It's just skyscrapers shoved into the sky, how is this even cyberpunk it doesn't even look dystopian in any way, it looks like a bustling peaceful city. The more I look at this the more fucking lame it looks.

A lot of what the car seems to be passing looks to me like apartment complexes or projects, which on one hand would be in keeping with the themes of the game, but on the other would all be large enough to contain a game in and of it self.
