So when does it get good...

So when does it get good? I'm at blight town now and the whole game has been mindless rolling and backstabbing the same green and brown enemies in green and brown areas for 5 hours

Attached: Dark_Souls_Cover_Art.jpg (220x284, 28K)

Why bother playing it then,user?

I want to know if there is going to be a shift in quality, no point on keep going if i am not going to enjoy it

Do people genuinely think the camera is good when it spazzes out and jitters constantly especially in tight quarters (where much of the game is)?

Do people genuinely think that two foot wide hallways where you can't even swing your weapon with slow ass rolls and the game just throwing dozens of braindead grunt enemies at you is enjoyable combat?

Do people genuinely think that having the blacksmiths/merchants all selling specific things and having to remember the exact convoluted path to get to them and running across the world every time to do so is enjoyable? Do you think that getting multiple keys and constantly backtracking to see what they go to is enjoyable?

Do people genuinely think that a slow, clunky roll that isnt actually for moving out of the way but literally basically just a one-dimensional "no damage" button that you press the instant before you get hit (instead of moving out of the way) is good game design?

Do people genuinely think that throwing a half dozen boss-like enemies with massive fucking health pools that you can't even dent unless you hacked away for 20 minutes straight scattered among grunt enemies (many of which look similarly as strong) within the first hour of gameplay alone to be good game design?

Do people genuinely think a stamina system where you can only attack a few times before walking back and just standing there doing nothing is a fun or engaging combat system?

Do people genuinely think Priscilla, Capra Demon, Taurus Demon, Pinwheel, Seath, Ceaseless Discharge, and Bed of Chaos are well designed boss fights?

Do people genuinely think it's acceptable to recycle an identical boss three times?

Do people genuinely think curse is a good mechanic?

Do people genuinely think that vital mechanics like lordvessel, upgrading estus, pardoning, and kindling bonfires are well explained?

Do people genuinely think that masses of braindead grunts, Bonewheel Skeletons, Stray Demons, Anor Londo Archers or Drakes are good enemy design?

don't worry user it eventually gets gold then blue and then red kinda stays that way for a while

Damn, now I really have to replay this shit. Thanks user.

I feel like this is a game you have to beat even though I mostly thought it was retarded

yes

i gave up at the two knights hurling giant arrow at me in anor londo. one hit will get me to fall off and feels like bullshit most of the time.

I was drunk as fuck and got past it first try lol

The only truly awful moment I've experienced so far was fighting that capra fucker in that tiny room with the annoying dogs and that godamn tree that blocks your already shitty camera. That's some garbage boss design but i liked the others, i can see that boss fights are this game's forte

Yeah that was fucking stupid and the dogs are fucking RNG. The capra demon looks cool though.

yeah it's great

I'm playing the game and I'm in the same town, I was killing some fags and went down the stairs in a large hallway, THEN A FUCKING NIGGER WITH HORNS, A HUGE SHILED AND A LARGE SWORD SPOTTED ME, I RAN LIKE A BITCH AND HE KILLED ME IN TWO SWINGS

WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT HOW DO I EVEN BEAT SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I'm playing offline

i kinda wanna do a shiva run but i was told eastern weaponry sucks complete cock in ds1

The archers are the only bad part you’re insane on the rest

I just got into this series a few months ago, I beat DS1 like three times now same with DS3. I've only just now given DS2 a fair shake and am enjoying my time, I think everybody gets something different out of it.

OP, if you're getting bored of the strafing and backstabbing, that's not really gonna be fixed in that game. If you're worried about the environments looking better, Anor Londo, Duke's archives, and Oolacile look great and give you cool colors. For sure play the optional area of Ariamis. If you don't like the look of ruins though, you're definitely playing the wrong series.

I don't even like the combat that much. I'm a lore and aesthetics guy trying to get immersed, and because of that I really dig DS1. DS2 is what I thought Dark Souls looked and felt like by imagining it and not playing it. Looks and feels a little more metal and conventional but god damnit does it do cool things straight from a DND campaign. DS3 has a little too much DS1 to feel comfortable praising it, but it definitely has its moments and its own unique lore additions are cool. Gael is dope af.

DS 2 > DS 1 > Bloodborne

Bloodborne = DS1 > DS3 >= DS2

Incorrect.

Bloodborne has great aesthetics, fuck the framerate problems though. DS1 has great world and was really something when it came out. It didn't age very well, but is still playable. DS3 has great graphics and fixed the responsiveness problems, but its linearity is a huge problem. DS2 has great parts and the rest is simply unfinished.

DeS > DS1 > BB > DS3 >>>DS2

i played through ds2 3 times before and i noticed nothing unfinished, just kinda felt unfinished, and vaguely empty, maybe that was intentional i mean the game does do a good job on making you the most disjointed and confused person on the fucking planet, but that's kind of its charm, not being very good but not being bad

Okay so i decided to keep playing but how do i stop the fucking lag? Should i have bought the pc version?

There is literally no doubt that Dark Souls (by From Software) is a true Tour de France of the genre. I give it 10 out of 10 meme points.

Incorrect.

blight town is just a fucked up unoptimized piece of shit on every version

remastered fixed this so you have to be playing an old version or on a toaster PC for this to happen now

The first half is best part of the game. If you don't like the looping level design and oppressive atmosphere you're not going to like it.

I forgot that existed

Parry and backstab. Or you can just come later and kill him 10 seconds.

there are people who beat the game with fists naked, so "sucks" is relative. if you like the game enough to play with suboptimal or meme builds then the eastern gear is perfectly fine, more than fine in fact, it's only bad if you're looking to COOM fast and just consume the game and drop it after a playthrough or two with munchkin meme gear. this applies to all souls games really.

once you have truly gotten gud these things don't matter unless you want to go full top tier competitive which is a whole nother beast.

Alright but what is the best build?

No one who likes dark souls thinks it's good. Because it's not. This is coming from someone with 200+ hours in the game. It's in my top 10 favourite games ever.

Play DS3 first man, DS1 is okay, but it's kind of outdated garbage.

>Do people genuinely think that vital mechanics like lordvessel, upgrading estus, pardoning, and kindling bonfires are well explained?
How does it feel to be a retard that has to have everything spoonfed to him? Youre the reason gaming is shit these days

Havent read the rest, too long

Does it get black though?

Ds1 is the worst of the soulsborne. People meme about muh interconnectivity but it has the worst levels design ever, any places it has, you don't get better at it no matter how hard you try, you just need to be lucky enough. You actually by this time surpassed the only good bits, it's gonna get worst, blightown, sen's fortress when the game has shit platforming controls, the anor londo archers, the crystal cave with invisible pathways so you use prism stones every step you take, bed of chaos, new londo forcing you to use an item every fucking times just to damage a VERY common type of enemy, tomb of giants where you're forced to learn a sorcery in order to see the way, otherwise have fun falling to your death 'till the end of time. It picks up just at the end with Gwyn, but since boss mechanics in DS1 are the worst of them all you can easily parry him. You're better off playing Dark Souls 2, Bloodborne, hell even Dark Souls 3, or better yet, the predecessor, Demon's Souls. But beware, you don't get to have 20 fucking estus flasks like DS1, you don't get to have it all.

>You actually by this time surpassed the only good bits, it's gonna get worst
Wait really? I still have my shitty +3 rapier and starting armor. The only thing that kept me moving forward was the hope of finding some cool shit to start having fun

>use an item every fucking times just to damage a VERY common type of enemy
you only need to use the item like 3 times and then you never need to go there again

>I want to know if there is going to be a shift in quality
oh nonononononono

Just run past it
The arrows are too slow

DS1>DeS>DS3>BB>King's Field>DS2

Incorrect.

shut the fuck up retard

>vaguely empty
That's what I meant, the lack of lighting makes this problem many times worse.

Yes, you also reminded me that this game has 999 types of titanite, if you want cool shit with weapons DS2 has power stancing and the best distribution of builds pvp and pve, ds3 has weapon arts, though most of the time people uses the longsword and Bloodborne has trick weapons that completely change the playstyle, weapons in des and ds1 are basic.

Fuck you you fucking NIGGER!!!!!!!!
