The original xbox made no money because microsoft took such a huge loss, the 360 and PS3 were financial disasters because of the huge loss, and they're unlikely to repeat that mistake again. Now you have a bugging black box in their home. You record what they play, how long, what times, what they search for, their browser history, anything they do on PSN, etc. Then sell the market data at a premium to other big giant corporations.
