what's your excuse for hating this game?
inb4 "ITS NOT SOURCE"
I played it for 1.5K hours and got bored.
I like FPS games
Niggers game
>FPS
I don't like bad genres and my reflexes are shit
its ugly
They don't do much with it anymore. The most recent thing I recall getting was a shitty battle royale mode. I think battle royale in CSGO could have potential but it's executed awfully. The base game is alright but not much is really officially added, no new maps, no new content. I want Valve to go back to singleplayer games, that is where they belong.
Got bored really quickly, the game is repetitive and the outcomes are always the same.
>valve said they would be porting csgo to the source 2 engine back in 2015
>its 2019 and they still haven't done it
>stuck playing on an ugly ancient engine with all the problems source has
I would pick it back up immediately if it were on the source 2 engine.
im honestly not even bad at it and i will admit i have only about 400 hrs over the past 5 years
>really short ttk
>little individual skill
>too team oriented
>weapon sprays are just a gimmick that takes a while to learn
>shit tier ranking system (only 18 ranks with 200k players) thats awful
matchmaking
Because gunhats killed the community
Its not fun.
Learned spray patters and as soon as I became consistent at killing I realized I wasn't having fun at all using the same guns in the same way on the same 5 maps running the single that competitive had been playing for months. None of the other game modes are good and community servers also don't have any good game-modes.
CS:GO has no staying power if your not a loot crate junkie or a wanabe aspiring esports kid.
Well, considering how fucking buggy dota was when it got ported.
I'm pretty sure that valve don't want do it again.
it was shit
then they
>reworked the maps to be shittier
>rebalanced economy to be shittier
>rebalanced weapons to be shittier
1.6 was best
even source was better
Because I'm playing superior Siege.
>1.6 was best
But it's not now? Then which one is best now?
Because they nerfed everything good about the movement in the Source engine for this piece of shit.
condition zero you stupid nigger
It's stale. Even though R6Siege is shit it's more indicative of what CS should in terms of gameplay variety with things like destructible environments.
They squeezed out the movement techs that Source was famous for and ladled on RNG spread for the shooting. It's understandable why they made those choices, as now where everyone is standing, whether they can move into sightlines, and if they're able to buy the actually-usable guns become more important factors, so on the surface, it's a lot more tactical. The problem is that this is achieved by those aforementioned awkward restrictions, which keeps the rest of the game from being fun. A good counter-example is RO/RS, where line-of-sight, teammate placement, and team composition are important things, along with the movement and aiming being a bunch of horse shit until you get used to it, but the factors that affect your ability to aim and the choices you can make in regard to movement are a lot more manageable and makes your choices more free to be made, whereas CS just feels like you're working within a rigid box and is about kicking you in the dick to keep you in-line.
Honestly, I couldn't tell you why, but it just didn't hold my attention the way classic, and Source did. I still got about 90 hours of playtime out of it, so I got my money's worth, but that pales in comparison to the thousands of hours I put into Source, and who knows how many hours of the original that didn't get counted because steam wasn't a thing yet.
Too repetetive. For every genuinely interesting or tense round there are 10 where you are literally just going through the motions. Spend your money in this order, smoke at this spot at this time, hold this angle if they aren't there by X then rotate to this one etc. Every single game. And the game is hard enough (or, more accurately, the players are cancerous enough) that not playing seriously even in lowbie pick up games usually ensures that you will perform badly, tilt a teammate so badly that they start griefing, or both. Same deal as DOTA, though at least that has so many more variables and moving pieces that variety is inevitable on some level.
Great spectator sport, I'm always impressed with how consistent the best players and teams can be. But I've no interest in playing myself anymore. You can only play Dust2 so many times before it loses all meaning.
Bullied by a bunch of epic gamers then kicked because i didnt play the way they wanted.
i dont need an excuse
horrible players, made even worse by the fact that the game is now free to play
esports and twitch community surrounding the game, both of which are bad for videogames as a whole
microtransactions and cosmetic skins that can be exchanged for real money contribute to the aforementioned community problem and in themselves are just scummy, if you think they are acceptable then you are delusional
Terrible community, hackers, simple and good gameplay but gets boring fast.
I’ve noticed something though. There were lots of hackers in F2P. I started hacking blatantly and saying that I was. Nothing happened. For two months. Bought the pass or whatever it’s called and got banned instantly. Valve doesn’t ban hackers in F2P because they want you to pay to get rid of them.
Deleted my Steam account and went to another platform. I may be wrong but knowing how disgusting Valve has because I’ll bet I’m right. Encouraging underage gambling until they got bad publicity and all of a sudden cared. Monetizing your Steam profile with levels. Making you pay $5 to even begin adding friends or using their dog shit community aspect when Discord does it for free. Releasing a blatant cash grab card game.
That’s why the game and company sucks. Source is the best. Simple and solid engine. Runs everywhere. AND NO FUCKING MICROTRANSACTIONS.
seconding this, i sold out all my csgo hats for a good sum and got myself a nice watch. then started playing Siege and never looked back since it's superior in every imaginable way.
I don't want to just say community, since every multiplayer game has a shit community (90% of people aren't going to respect you as a teammate), but compared to my main shooters since the last ~2 years (Quake Champions and Hunt), CSGO is very boring, in addition to being too much of a time commitment. I also semi-regularly spin up FEAR: Extraction Point (still the best single player shooter ever made) and from that perspective it's lacking in fun. Used to play Siege but they turned that into marvel-shit so I grew out of it. They should have stopped making new operators 3 years ago.
the amount of cheaters and the fact that it stole several thousand hours of my life
Retarded ranking system, no purpose staying above MG because you get constant games filled with cheaters.
Post that playtime
i don't like the fact that i have to aim to the feet to get a headshot and people who play this game are a bunch pretentious faggots because "DUDE U DON'T USE IRONSIGHTS SO DEEP" ,
not including 1k+ from 2 smurfs
Do people still play Source on Steam? I've been playing GO since release but the performance is getting worse and I've been thinking about getting into something that feels a bit lighter but not too different.
Impressive, blows my 800 out of the water
People, no. Slav animals, yes.
They heavily nerfed camping and added lots of RNG which shifts the focus from the personal player skill and grenade knowledge to teamplay (double-triple-teaming your enemies) and gunfights.
Due to RNG the ttk is much higher than in cs 1.6 and source and it's very often frustrating.
Surprisingly, yes.
I wouldn't say I hate the game, I just don't feel like playing it at all. I already got my fill of this series with 1.6 years ago
>was gonna say "because I play source instead"
>read the spoiler
damn you OP
Militaryshit shooters are boring. I played 2 Call of Duty campaigns and had 30 hours in CS: Source. That's more that enough.
i meant, ttk is not higher, more like it's unpredictable, sometimes you hit three or four heads in a row and sometimes you need to waste half a mag because none of your shots hit.
This unpredictability means a solo player can't do anything, and it was intentional. This makes game more team focused and since most people don't understand that the game is team focused it's not fun to play as a result.
i suck at it and also because the community is trash, i only play it when the boys want to
wish i played cs during the glory days of 1.6, the modern attitude of everything needing to be ultra hardcore competitive is draining the fun out of multiplayer games for me
love it desu 8k hours and still going
>Making you pay $5 to even begin adding friends or using their dog shit community aspect
that $5 you pay gets added to your steam wallet
The new economy is FUBAR. I understand why Terrorist guns are cheaper, but they went way too far with the loss bonus "rebalancing". Lose pistol round as a terrorist? Thats fine, just buy an AK second round, or save one more and buy AWP third round and steamroll. Meanwhile, if you're Counter-Terrorist and win three rounds but lose one, your eco is already broken, and that ridiculous. Also, they overnerf the fuck outta guns. The only guns that are useful are the pistols, AK, M4, Sig 553, AUG, Scout, AWP, and sometimes the MAG7. Everything beyond those guns are absolutely worthless.
xm is the best gun; #2 pp-bizon
I don't like games with matchmaking and microtransactions.
I also feel like every CS game after 1.6 had worse and worse visuals. They technically improved, but it started to feel cluttered and boring.
So many wall hackers it’s crazy, been playing a lot past month or so and every day there’s multiple blatant hackers, some getting booted by their own team but more often unfortunately their team refusing to vote them off even though they admit they’re hacking people just vote no so they can win then say stuff like game is trash, why bother etc
It’s amazing valve has still not figured out a better fix than this, they obviously don’t give 2 shits
I'm playing a much better game
Daily reminder recoil patterns are a retarded and pointless mechanic
the exceptionally shitty gun sounds. that's it. the guns sound so horrible that i don't want to play.
this but I played 4.3k hours
I don't see what more I can get out of it after 850+ hours and thousands of hours of 1.6. I actually recently re-downloaded it again, after a 4 year long break and the game felt absurdly dated and stale, it's as if I had never left.
Quake is better
I just can't abide this retrogrouch bullshit, especially coming from someone who isn't even old enough to espouse it.
Quake sucked, kill your idols.
It's the anti-thesis of Quake (read: fun FPS design) and the aiming is fucking retarded
It's not 1.6
i'm too smoothbrained to figure out the recoil
comp is full of children and hackers
I played it for 2K hours and can't stand the fucking try hard normalfags anymore. You are supposed to have fun and shit on your enemies, not wannabe pro listing their shitty config on their profile. Fucking this world.
I generally hate round based games where you can't respawn, I like to be in the action, that means sitting around half the game watching other people do stupid shit
Half the time you aren't even playing, one life per round encourages camping
