When did you stop being a contrarian and realize it was the best series in the medium?

I am so sorry you have such plebian tastes.

Remind me which series went on to sell millions of copies and more critically acclaimed.

>series that panders to the lowest common denominator is more popular

no shit?

Coping Thieffag. Even Yea Forums agrees that MGS is the GOAT.

quotes like this make you seem like a stupid fuck, have played neither games btw

is just not a great stealth game
I mean it literally says "tactical espionage action" which is a surprising precise description

No, that was Thief.

Pasting hours of non-interactive cutscenes into a game was done better in Wing Commander, and is ultimately a retarded way to design a game. Games are not movies. Cutscenes are inherently contrary to the core design goals of a videogame, and should be eliminated with prejudice.

I like both :)

It's always weird when you see Sony kids whine that the N64's games didn't have a lot of cutscenes and were instead focused on gameplay, often finding ways to immersively tell a story without forcing the player to watch a movie.

I think dialogue should entirely be removed from games.
"Worldbuilding" is only done by lazy faggots who can't be bothered to make an actual game, I think all games should take place in a void.

>No, that was Thief.
Why do people praise that game so much? You can bunny hop away from the guards and they forget they ever saw you less than a minute later.

>You can bunny hop away from the guards and they forget they ever saw you less than a minute later.
And?

>Why do people praise that game so much?
Because it's a masterpiece.

That's both not immersive and means sneaking isn't necessary.

Dishonored gives you magical powers that allow you to teleport meters into the air. Still a stealth game. The idea is to NOT get discovered. Thief is built around the idea that the only fail state should be player death, and you don't make player death some binary thing. If you get spotted, you run away. You climb. You evade.

Can you post the 2019 version, m8?

I love Metal Gear so much but this image is true

Thanks

Yeah, a bad one.

It's fucking trash. The gameplay is almost nonexistent and the "story" is the kind of shit that people that think Tarantino is a genius would enjoy. You're probably the sort of faggot that liked Fight Club or The Dark Knight and think those movies are "deep".

Cope.

I'm glad both HL1 and 2 are on there, but I often wonder why HL2 gets more love. I personally like the classic Half-Life more.

I've not come accross a more beautiful, intelligent, and gripping series. MGS is timeless and full of soul. I imagine only sub 100 IQ cucks/people who haven't played it all shit on it.

Post MGS3 is the epitome of soulless, but the rest is right.

Dishonored is not a stealth game, it's a game like Deus Ex where stealth is just an option.

First MGS was solid gold. Everything after that was shit
