Like i said, you can go higher by eating at the canteen or using Max and Ancient potions, if you're late into HR you should have a reliable way to grind Max potions

Health Boost skill. The decos for it are only level 1 and you only need 3 of them so they’re easy as fuck to cram into pretty much any setup. Also if your meal before a hunt doesn’t give +50 health then use a Max Potion at the beginning of the hunt, it’ll extend your health bar the rest of the way.

It's dead and it's gonna stay this way forever since COG is being absorbed by capcom. Right now most of the grind has been reduced and the game push you to G-rank which give you access to 95% of the monsters in 5-10h. Since all the tawainese employee of capcom were fired, the game is free AND there's an english patch now.

I'm loving the designs choices, I love how Shara and Namielle looks, even Zinogre looks great and I'm not a fan of furrybaits, the only one that looks "meh" is Velk but she makes up for it with great weapon designs and I weirdos posting here claimed that she's cute so I guess it's ok.
BUT. Why is the game balanced so poorly?
The fact that bad players can already be at the endgame without knowing how to play properly is silly.

You shouldn't be allowed to facetank everything a monster throws at you without a shield. Shara should be able to 1shot you even if you have 200 hp and divine protection procs IF you get hit by his final moves.
Garuda should slap your head clean off if you fucking clutchclaw into the tail before he spins, not leave you at 50hp if you have 200.

Why is this game so poorly balanced that in order to make it challenging you have to cripple yourself and avoid certain builds?

Using build 1354, I heard 1405 works best but I haven't tried it. It runs at a constant 60 fps, the only slow downs I get are in menus and sometimes cutscenes, also in one zone of the ancestral steppes the speed goes down to 90% but it's still very playable, rest of maps and zones is 60 fps and 100% speed. It runs like shit if you have 3d on, there's a cheat to remove it though; pastebin.com/Q2fsRBdN but for it to work you need to have the update 1.1, which is included in the zip the user sent when I asked for DLCs

Now that I've seen all of the armors so far, seems like they've cut corners quite a bit.
Most beta armors are just alpha recolors, with some being just the same HR armor.
Granted, this is the case as well for HR but I kinda wished they all got the same Legiana treatment.
Unique MR and variant armor, both with different alpha and beta models.

I'll stick to 1354 for now though, it works well enough so I don't see any reason to change build. The only annoying graphic issue I got was in the frozen seaway, tha ice that is supposed to reflects the sky gets an all fucky rbg texture, I don't know what causes it and it seems to be random. I never change any settings, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, but it's fine as long as I'm not fighting any monster in the area. It happened in camp and a zone to the right, 2 I think, I don't know the maps well yet

Purple sharpness (if we're going by GU) is only a 7% damage increase. Hidden saber's low raw mean it doesn't even help that much. Even shit like the last LS in the basic iron tree might outpace it. Not that it matters. It looks cool.

Sheath immediately and so the super man dive. That has a fuck ton of iframes and will guarantee survival. Alternatively if you use a weapon with a shield you can block it but it does a fuckload of chip damage.

More damage is more damage. There is no reason not to use it. Raw weapons are already stronger than element weapons to begin with.

Uh no. Iai did does much less damage than Helm breaker. It's not going to break even until it does 300+ per counter. Meanwhile helmbreaker does 150x7 on a weak face. Helmbreaker is still your primary damage outside of fade spirit combo.

I am having a lot of fun with Iceborne this, I'm at the point in the game where I'll be fighting Velkhana at Seliana.
I wasn't expecting much from Iceborne just more monster to hunt I thought, which to me was the only issue I had with World that there wasn't more of it. But so far Iceborne has made me feel just like when I started the game, I'm looking forward to each and fighting each monster, I'm using all the tools available to me, fighting tooth and nail to barely finish a hunt.
I wasn't bored with World but Iceborne took everything I loved about World and gave me more of it and even improved some parts, if any of you had any fun with World and are still on the fence about Iceborne, just buy it, it's really fun.

To be specific, the problem was that they had decided they weren't going to do leviathans so early that the maps were made without any good areas to fight leviathans.

mentions, it's straightforward at the very least. I could see someone hating Ancient Forest just for the mazy inconvenient nature of it all, but that's honestly the appeal to me. The other areas feel more, for lack of a better term, game-y, where there are clear arenas and clear hallways. The Ancient Forest actually feels like a wild place with no regard for player convenience, it's just full-blown overwhelming overgrowth and that's a cool type of area to get into multi-target hunts with. Ancient Forest is cool because shit can actually hit the fan in organic ways and force you out of your standard routine. I was trying to finish a capture on Rath in his nest the other day and the other Rath fucking flies in, tries to blast me, I roll, the blast hits the dam behind the nest, the flood starts and kills the Rath I came to capture before I can even react to the situation, and that's fucking cool. Motherfuckers get teaamkilled by natural disaster in the Ancient Forest, shit's gangster.

The kjarr bomber is wide 4 with crit element blast, high raw and a fuckload of blue sharpness, to the point where you didn't even need razor sharp. It was a top tier weapon and it's my favorite GL hands down.

Deco grinding isn't an issue since you'll get good ones a lot. The real grind is the weapon augmentation. Nobody even reached final upgrade yet

wouldn’t surprise me if over half of the people in here are normies and casuals whose first game was world. even here, people are complaining about how they’re not being catered to for not playing through the story solo. having not a shred of critical thinking or self-reliance and still using the hr meta sets they slavishly copied from jewtubers and reddit, without even understanding what makes them good. and best of all, complaining about ‘bloated’ hp pools, when the core appeal of the game is to try your best to improve your efficiency and clear times, and there’s no point to it if everything dies in 2 minutes like in world
the good old days of people who appreciated the franchise for the niche it had carved out for itself are dead and buried. even when iceborne promises a return to form, the few veterans voicing their strong approval are drowned out by the millions of zoomer babies who only know mh for world’s piss easy hunts that carries you with its mechanics and demand nothing from you. it’s pearls before swines in the truest sense of the phrase
