I cannot bring myself to get past the first chapter of this piece of shit. The graphics are tolerable until you realize the necromorphs are so fucking easy to distinguish from the environment (due to their bright ass colors).
This game is a pile of shit, oh wow a monster in front of you ahhaha guess what there's an other one right behind you. Fuck off, it gets old fast :^)
Started playing this recently and I have to say I was disappointed too. Everyone who (I guess) played it as a kid told me about it like it was some kind of atmospheric kino horror game but it's just a TPS with an FOV so low it's like you're staring through a cardboard tube the whole time.
What was even supposed to be scary about the enemies? They come so regularly and are almost always telegraphed in advance like in any other TPS game. >see any enemy skitter around a corner and into a vent >cool, gonna have to fight a few of those guys in the next room >they pop out of the vents ahhh okay time to shoot them to death >ah a big switch in the middle of an arena, pulling this will definitely summon some bad guys >pull the switch to call an elevator >baddies start crawling out ahhh scary okay time to headshot these guys and move on I dunno if it's the regular wave-based enemy attacks, tons of ammunition, or what, but I never felt scared or stressed, sometimes just annoyed when you get caught between two necromorphs and have to melee your way out.
You know you can change the fov with mods right niggerfaggot?

>the game is better with mods!! True for any game but I'm not gonna spend an hour hunting down Skyrim or Oblivion mods and setting them up to have the 'optimum experience' when I can just play something better instead.

Tuna, I'm surprised that everytime I talk to someone about he didn't know it was a thing.

there are certain things the game does amazingly. the environmental storytelling, audio design, and menu system are all top notch and stick out as being exceptional among a wave of similar games. whether or not these little details are enough to win you over is really the deciding factor in the games enjoyability.

More like dead wrong. Just started playing it for the first time (on PS3 too, where it runs like shit) and it's pretty damn good, with the exception of the performance I have zero complaints.

woah... its almost like the devs flat-out admitted they were inspired by RE4... i wonder why enemies would be common in an action-horror

read the thread a little more carefully

Too scared to play, huh? Maybe try some Hamtaro: Ham Hams Unite.
