No because I'm not underage.

Can we admit that the Oracle games are better yet?

I already played minish cap its the same damn thing

Me, never bothered playing it.

I 100% that game before you were born. Nice to see someone playing it, though.

SNES or GBA, and reasons?

This

I almost had to look up a guide to figure out how to get the book down from the shelf in the village.

fuck the gba one, they added the "YAAAH!!!!" rolling sound from Ocarina of Time except it's fucking shit GBA quality and it has a tiny as fuck gba res. Honestly the thought of playing any SNES to GBA port in 2019 is too unbelievably fucking retarded to even humor.

youtu.be/eSBFw93V3Rg

the only reason anyone should play LTTP GBA is for the bonus Four Swords dungeon but the only way to do that nowadays would be to download a save with it unlocked

Attached: alttp-kilian-eng.jpg (1255x1890, 870K)

I like that picture a lot

I am! I'm stuck right now. I beat the first dungeon in the Dark World (That boss was awesome!) and am stuck trying to get into the second dungeon. I don't understand how to proceed, I think I need some kind of item you get outside the dungeon?

So right now I'm exploring the overworld.

I remember playing this on super Nintendo and my game save would always corrupt

same

Attached: nicolas-delort_zelda.jpg (1000x1500, 693K)

I think this was probably the first game I owned. I remember being amazed at my cousin showing me how to catch fairies and keep them in bottles. This game still feels magical to me.

>This game still feels magical to me
Same, and I don't know if it's because the game truly is the GOAT or because I'm old and the power of nostalgia blinds me. Or both.

played demon's crest for the first time legally

I take it you are playing it on the Switch SNES pack?

I always got kind of uninterested with it after getting Zelda out of the castle, but for some reason it feels a lot more engaging now.

Yes and no.
I played through a good chunk of it on my snes but the fucking battery died in the cartridge so all my save data was wiped. Haven't bothered replacing any of my dead batteries and I really need to. Especially Super Metroid, I got to Ridley, couldn't beat him for a while, and picked the game back up a few days later to try again to find 3 empty files. I have so many dead games.

>mfw the only zelda game i've played is the original

Attached: 1370790686990.jpg (292x261, 25K)

At least you played one of the best ones

SNES because free on switch

Played the GBA port when it came out (That was my first time) Became my favorite Zelda game.

(Four Swords with friends was also fun)

Use the hammer on different things

Link's Awakening is better

No. It's not. Minish cap is shit

No, I just finished Brawl Brothers 5 mins ago

There's a really easy way to glitch yourself into the dungeon. It involves bombing yourself into a cave.

The only big SNES games I have yet to play are the DKC trilogy. Are all 3 games good or should I skip some entries?

All three are fantastic. 2>1>3, but even 3 is a blast. Just play them in order.

Egoraptor makes me want to avoid it

Skip 3. Play either 1 or 2. If you play either, you've played them both. Or just fuck em and play Tropical Freeze.

thanks, I played both TF and Returns and enjoyed them

Attached: tumblr_nbrqsucwyE1rrkahjo4_500.gif (500x281, 1.89M)

Where does he get these wonderful toys?

something about the GBA port feels off

This and Earthbound are probably the only two big SNES games I've never touched.
To answer your question though, no, because my fucking Joycon broke. Thanks Nintendo.

egoraptor is retarded, but even a stopped clock is right twice a day. ignore when he says it's better than OoT though; they're equally good in different ways

His pants

Attached: giphy (2).gif (500x281, 1.91M)

Kind of. It was one of the first games I ever played but I never got very far in it. My little brother had more patience and beat it. I'm looking forward to finally playing the whole game myself after I finish with SMW

No, but it's one of my favorite games. How are you liking it so far?

Attached: 1505669297884.gif (320x240, 1.05M)

What the fuck, I never knew that. It's so lazy and annoying to reuse OoT/MM Link sound effects. Minish Cap is annoying too. I only accept it in Smash because it's literally supposed to be the same Link and it just works better in 3D.

It's probably the game where I specifically started loving video games. I played SMW and others first, but Link to the Past showed me what an amazing game world could be like.
I was born 1990 so I didn't play Zelda 1 or 2 first.

No sure why I've never played this game. But so far it's great.

Attached: Demon's+Crest+(Europe)-image.jpg (420x309, 95K)

Exploring Dungeon 2! Holy shit getting past that first room was stupidly obtuse. (But I loved it!)

I have collected the second crystal! I didn't like this dungeon as much as the last one but it was still pretty fun. Plus I can already see how the Hookshot is going to help me get around the overworld.

I've always said that, Oracle games are best 2d Zelda games

Demon's Crest is awesome. Playing though it for the first time myself. I played the Gameboy game on the 3DS and highly recommend it as well.

Attached: GAMEXPLAIN.jpg (1280x720, 177K)

More like the 100th time but it’s still great. Think the only zelda I like more is loz2 on nes.

I'm in the Dark World Woods right now and have no idea what I'm doing. I feel like I'm just going around in circles, over and over.

Thanks for those, damn.

I did like a month ago. It was pretty good. I never liked the Zelda games I played before, having finished both OoT and Wind Waker, so I never really gave ALttP a fair shake. Ended up enjoying it, so I'm gonna give some other 2D zeldas a try.

it took me 15 min to figure out how to get passed the first 10 sec of the game. I love how old school doesn't hold your hand. felt good to figure it out

I played it as a child on GBA but never beat it.
I'm taking the opportunity to do that now. Beaten two Dark World dungeons so far and something about their design feels more like "Oh, fuck you." compared to "Oh, neat." but I'll see how it is when I get to dungeons I don't have a clue how to beat. Might be I just prefer dungeons in a 3D space.

Replaying it after playing the GBA port.
It's alright, I feel like the 3D Zeldas have aged much better.
Ocarina of Time is miles better.

holy fuck this box art.

>yfw agahnim is on top of the ziggurat

It feels weird to think I must have played through Super Metroid like 10 times but this is the first time with Nintendo's actual approval.

You should play LTTP. It's my favorite. I think you would enjoy it.

Fucking cool. Everybody play this game.

Attached: Demon's Crest.jpg (825x464, 70K)

Replayed it for the like third time earlier this year, still a great game. I can actually never get into Link Between Worlds since its too much of a copy of Link to the Past. Its hard to give a shit about the world and shit in it

Is ganon supposed to be different than gannondorf? I don't get it

I wouldn't say they're better. Ages in particular has a lot of hand-holdly segments because of the way the plot is structured.
But damn if I don't view them as equal.

youtube.com/watch?v=h8qovLfqn_U
That intro is so kino.

Attached: 075.jpg (1024x576, 51K)

Play one and then two. Skip three unless you really want to play it.

You can look at your map to see the next dungeon

This is the most autistic shit on the fucking planet. How many times can you have this same argument about which Zelda is the best?

No but I replayed it this year for the first time since like.. 2001? It holds up pretty well, a lot better than Ocarina anyway.

Same, feels good in some way. Like I'm playing it again for the first time.

Too based

Now you understand.

Attached: Kimishima_Understand.jpg (545x576, 50K)

I didn't like it much but I might give it another chance now that I'm done Super Metroid. Or maybe I'll play Yoshi's Island instead

Here's a tip for you newcomers. Thrown pots are very strong. Might come in handy if saving zelda is giving you toruble

It has a real 80's anime feel to it when the logo finishes coming in.

Thats one of the two hardest dungeons in the game by miles. I still get confused doing it.

I played this game on the GBA when I was younger but never got very far.
Started playing it on the Switch yesterday and I'm already further than I've ever been. I gotta say, the Dungeon design is refreshingly weird in a way. I actually feel like I'm figuring stuff out and not just going through the motions.
When I asked my friend a few years ago what he thought of A Link Between Worlds, he told me that he liked it, but that everything was "too inconvenient" compared to A Link to the Past. I didn't know what he meant back then, but I think I get it now.

find the ice rod or you'll regret it deep into the game later

I'm playing it for the first time and getting my ass kicked. Haven't even cleared Eastern Temple and have only one piece of heart found

bottle up fairys

I completed it on the gba in elementary school
picked it up recently and dropped at the first dungeon in the dark world because it was too frustrating
how the fuck did I do this as a little kid

my bottles got red potion in it and even when it was empty I couldn't catch a fairy. Reckon I need more than just a bottle

there's someone in kakariko village that gives you a bug net. search around

You could also just use the rewind function if you're playing it on the Switch.

Sounds similar to my experience with CTR. Still dunno how 7 year old me beat Pinstripe and Oxide's bullshit

i already beat this game multiple times but where' the fun in that for new players? but fun is subjective

I'm playing The Minish Cap

I didn't really have anything else to play besides mario kart and a bunch of ps1 games when everyone else had the ps2, so that's it probably
also my hands are too big now to play gba and it hurts my eyes

Same, I only had CTR on PS1, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Pokemon Emerald and The Minish Cap for the GBA. I played the shit out of all those games, FFTA especially. Broke the shit out of it multiple ways, fun times.

I don't know what's fun about trudging from one end of the dungeon to the other avoiding combat after you die.
Honestly people should be free to play the game however they please. If the rewind function is the difference between somebody dropping the game entirely after some bullshit or getting to see the appealing parts after it, then they should use it.

I don't know why I've never been able to get into 2D Zelda. Ive beaten LTTP, Link Between Worlds, and Zelda 1. But all other other ones I just lose my interest so quickly. One day I'll beat the oracle's and minish cap. But who knows when thatll be.

There's an east glitch that lets you sneak into the dungeon as soon you reach the thieves' town dungeon, retard

I am, stuck in the dark world water dungeon.

>Played the very first 2 Zelda games before Switch Online and played multiple other Zelda games as well
>Get called underage because I never had the chance to get one of the older games
Scram faggot.

I think that one had a lot of secret entrances behind waterfalls, if that helps.

I'm almost 30 and I never played it.

Swamp Dungeon in the Bottom Middle of the map?

Open the Dark World equivalent by going into the Light World, get past the 3 stones in front of the chest by pushing the midfle one towards the chest and the other ones to the sides, activate lever inside to flood it.
Back in the Dark World it should be accessible.

Make sure to keep an eye out for breakable Walls and that one part where you activate 2 doors (one of them is offscreen to the right) by pushing a statue on a button

>GBA port
>"HYYYAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
i only needed that little detail to hate it. So freaking annoying. I understand it in ocarina of time, doing the hold b attack is not that frequently because you can target Z enemies, but in ALTTP you have to do it very frequently because it's camera angle.

Yep, started it tonight and just got to the Dark Palace. I bought a boxed copy for GBA a few years ago but my console broke, and I didn't have another comfortable way to play it until now. It's lowering my opinion of OoT even more, I thought you were all memeing but LttP did literally everything first (and better).

/thread

no because those are the only Zelda games I've never played so I don't have an opinion on them

Not it’s not, Minish Cap is actually good

3 is the best don't listen to the sheep that calls it the worst

lttp is better

The overworld in the oracle games felt too linear for me, you're constantly gated off arbitrarily. Link's Awakening had the most fun overworld IMO. Ages had great dungeons though.

>says nostalgia nigger
It’s the worse zelda (except for the 8-bit ones)
>shit graphics
>shit story
>shit music
>shit gameplay

Fellas, I gotta say that the Dungeon inside the Dark World Lost Woods is fucking bullshit

>Respawning Wallmasters in every room
>Random piece of surface grass has an important Dungeon hole under it
>Fire Rod almost useless throughout the entire Dungeon
>Fire Rid is never used on Grass/Vine obstacles
>Need to shoot Fire Rod at a Spider Skeleton Statue made out of stone to progress

>Boss is some stupid bullshit guaranteed to make you lose life:
>Floor is moving
>Spikeblocks from every direction
>Boss floats very fast across the room
>Deals shittons of damage
>Takes shittons of damage
>Sword/hammer both have very short range and make you lose life by touching the Boss with your body
>Fire Rod useful against this boss but depletes a lot of your Magic Bar

Btw you should be able to get tempered sword by the time you get to lost woods and when you do the boss is easier.

The fire rod is good against some enemies of the woods, it's not only another long range weapon that you can use in some puzzles. And it's obviousily meant to be used on the boss

>it's hard
Well yeah it's part of the challenge. I never had a problem with it but it's kinda strong, just keep trying and you will beat him

Also you will use the rod again in the future, and there's a cave that doubles your magic bar. I don't remember what you have to do before get access to the cave, tho, so maybe you can't get there yet

Convince me to give ALttP another chance.

You have to be a troll or something.
Go back to school under aged zoomer

You can also get half magic once you have the magic powder.

SNES, because GBA is a handled console of inferior capability

I have bigger Magic Bar and have beaten it already.
I did Dungeons chronogically, so I didnt unlock the Titan Mitts for the blacksmiths yet

Kinda just felt like a huge difficulty spike with that boss though.

Superior version coming through

That OST jesus fuck
youtube.com/watch?v=5OvVs3ZZ1KI

Remember to not only get the tempered sword but also the Golden Sword, IIRC you can get it as soon you get the giant bomb

Get good

I used to not like it too.
But if you know the layout, it'll be the easiest dungeon the second time through.

fuck off you child

yeah because that's common knowledge right? fuck off

Boomer here
I always thought Zelda was gay growing up. It wasn't until Hyrule Warriors that I started to actually play Zelda games. Totally thought it was the gayest of gay when I was a lad though.

>yeah because that's common knowledge right?
Yes? It's common knowledge for Zelda fans, if you know so much about ALTTP's GBA version you should know about the glitch

Dude.
Hyrule Warriors is the gayest Zelda game.

You somehow started with the gayest one when you avoided the series for this very reason???

I'm 32 but I was fucking poor all my life
