Well he's no game historian. He has Kibe for that. But he's talked about all kinds of games he played since he was younger, like Zelda and F-Zero and Dragon Quest. I know he plays Mario Kart with his wife and kids.

Some of Arino's favorite games from the show are western PC games while James is your average Nintendo kiddy. Pretty interesting desu.

IIRC he likes stuff like Lemmings and Spelunker. He also played all those platformers like Another World and Flashback but I don't remember if he had liked them.

No, the one time they tried at that shop on their US trip, the shop had it hooked up to a computer monitor that wasn't compatible with the special chips in the game which threw the display sync off. They thought the game was broken, but there was nothing wrong with it.
