Both MC and her are simple minded village people ...and then Hilda comes and especially steal MC from Lisette in her ending. So its kinda like NTR if you think about it.

Being a ninja allows her to hit units at a range without too much of a compromise to her strength. Her speed allows her to get more turns in advance and her movement range is really damn good as well. She and Rusty were pretty much the S-tier MVPs of the game.

Is this actually worth sticking through as a game or is it just a subpar baby mode SRPG with cute girls? I really like Ideolo's art but the first few hours bored me to treats when I tried it years ago.

Considering how early you get Rusty it won't ever have difficulty unless you're forcing yourself to do some bonus challenges on the later maps

The combat and SRPG gameplay is mediocre by most SRPG standards. The pacing and the speed at which actions take place during combat and movement are what really brings the game down hard. If there was a way to fix the game's speed such that you didn't need to wait 3 seconds per action per turn to get the necessary information, the game would have been more bearable.
The real reason to play the game is for the story and for the music as the game has some excellent vocal songs. IMO it's worth sticking through one playthrough, then youtubing the other endings. Only NG+ it if you really don't mind the abysmal pacing of the combat.
