It's going to keep Halo 5's control scheme, but its going to take inspiration from Destiny 2 with the equivalent of Strikes and unlockable weapons/cosmetics as a means of keeping players returning. Warzone will definitely return but end up playing more like D2's Gambit. Unlockable skins/weapons will be in, but require an insane amount of grinding in each game mode to unlock, even if you arent a fan of said modes.
In terms of campaign, I think it'll just be safe like Gears 4's apparently was. They don't want to turn off people that rightfully hated 5, but it's not going to be anything memorable either.

Ok so I've been reading the Fall of Reach and something really confused me. In the book, The Pillar of Autumn is in space ready to capture a Covenant Ship when the Covenant Armada appears. At around the same time, they send John, Linda and James to Gamma Station to take care of the Circumference and a bunch of other Spartans to defend the Super MAC generators. While Master Chief is on Gamma Station, The Pillar of Autumn fights the Covenant Sniper Ship Superweapon thing and wins but takes a heavy beating and then picks up John and Linda before jumping out of the system.

So according to Reach the game, at some point the ship touched down in the ship yard to pick up Cortana (who was already on the ship) and then immediately took off from the planet to Installation 04. So I'm left asking, what the fuck?

Reach completely retcons the events of the battle.

In the book the main battle was just a few hours long before the Covenant had full control of the situation and was starting to glass the planet, while the game extends it to a month long invasion.

Book isn't canon IIRC. Halo 3 has the same thing were Cortana literally says she picked Chief due to luck. When did that happen? She had no choice by the time CE happened, it's because Six never got her originally. But Reach the game overruled the book and previous canon.

Halo: Reach is the Metroid Other M of Halo, if it exists, nothing else can.

The Fall of Reach was a tie-in book written without oversight from Bungie and released to make a quick buck.

A game has multiple facets to it, they had to show off actual characters and dialogue eventually, which is what the discover hope trailer was. I enjoyed both trailers for what they did, they don’t have to be contradictory. I felt like both trailers conveyed similar themes of nostalgia and such. But to each their own. Guess we’ll just see what the next trailer has in store

If Halo wants to try battle royale, on next gen consoles it could be the best BR experience of them all. Combine Warzone with the largest map ever, not being limited to a 4 man Quad team. It's not eye color. CE helmets seem to enclose the top half of the head and leave the mandibles protected by four metal guards that close together seamlessly. Reach retconned it to be either black sclera or presumably some kind of contact lens that projects HUD elements over the elite's field of view. Elites in 2 had the same thing but lost the solid metal mandible guards in favor of silly little colored strips. Any elite that isn't the Arbiter or Rtas had them.
