Monster Hunter Thread: Iceborne Edition
Espinas brought you an eggplant
I fucking hate eggplants
Do you like MH threads?
I unironically miss Listfag.
His rampant shitposting isn't the same without the big list of autism.
I am going to FUCK the eggplant and then FUCK Espinas.
LBG main here. Have been using a element crit/ sleep bomb build for all of HR. What element benefits most for IB?
Ayy, sure kid, whatever floats your boat...
Esbinas :DDDDDDD
Depends on what you are fighting? Don't think I get what you mean.
even less, too much shitposting
Is listfag the same person as Ryukishi?
What's the multiplier for purple sharpness in Iceborne? Is it worth it or is it nerfed like GU?
So, I've never played a MH game, but I'm kinda interested. Should I jump on MH:W with the new expansion or try MH 3 on the wii first?
How does World run on a decent GPU but shit CPU?
Just jump straight into World m8. Now is good as time to do it as well.
>they actually fixed poogie’s spawn spot
I’m just glad to see this.
What do you mean by "shit CPU"? I've got a fucking i5 and a 970 and the game runs mostly fine, sometimes hitches when trying on armor.
ok i need someone to carry my legacy. i cant always way el gatito gaming meow meow meow meow. i need someone to say it when i dont say it. thanks
FX-6100 shit (don't ask)
Don't want to buy a 8350 even though is cheap because I'm jumping straight to whatever comes next to AM4 slot
People are saying its 1.39 like GU.
That's got the same clock speed as my CPU iirc. The game will work fine just be sure to turn off volumetric rendering and other CPU hog settings.
I use a universal element and status build for every fight and just switch bowguns to whatever rapid element is most useful. In vanilla that’s been water. What should I build for to prep for IB?
>look at Expedition map
>Banbaro is everywhere
fucking why
Ahh ok gotcha. Thunder seems to be the most relevant, followed by fire imo
Luckily I already have a R8 Kirin ready
i love the jingle that plays in hoarfrost when the monster is running away. so damn good
>Ahh ok gotcha. Thunder seems to be the most relevant, followed by fire imo
>Thunder still the most relevant
Based Capcom I guess.
it took me nearly 30 minutes to beat barioth solo with a weapon I actually know how to use that was upgraded to master rank level. I don't understand at all what I'm doing wrong. It feels like I'm using high rank gear against monsters that are way too fucking strong. Every fight takes upwards of 10 minutes, every attack obliterates a third of my health bar. I don't feel like I'm winning at all. Fights end and I'm just annoyed that it took as long as it did.
You got used to shitting all over high rank monsters with endgame sets.
First time me and my friend fought Nerg going through the story took 25 minutes in our garbage ass early-mid HR gear, but he dies in about 4 minutes once you actually have Gamma equipment and decorations and shit like that.
whats so special about the LS special sheathe?
Quick slash charges sword meter, charges faster if you use the slash as a counter
Heavy slash does a fuckton of damage at the cost of a level of sword meter, does more damage and doesn't use meter if you use it as a counter
It seems like iai spirit slash is worthless. It does really average damage, and even when you use it right as a counter, you still just have to tank through the damage.
Welcome to G rank
how generous is the counter window?
Gives you access to a move that generates spirit meter, or a MOTIVATED move that deals a good chunk of damage while negating damage. Though the countering aspect of the second move only gives you a very small window to get it right unlike the foresight slash.
The real meme here is that both moves counts as an unsheathing attack so shit like punish draw or crit draw works on them. So you can definitely pull off some crit element or crit status builds provided you got the skills for it.
You only take chip damage as if you had blocked the attack.
Very very small. I guesstimate it around to being the same as your basic dodge’s I-frames. What I’m saying is that if you can dodge roars and attacks with your basic dodge alone, you can grasp the timing of the Lai slash counter fairly easily.
>MR Azure Rath
What the fuck were they thinking with this monster
Wassup with it? I'm still on low rank and just killed my first Rathalos. Was breddy easy.
is there just a hard limit on flashing monsters now?
Tempered monsters have a hard 4 flash limit
MR monsters have a cooldown before they can be flashed successively but no cap.
It's a rathalos but it never leaves the sky, and since MR mosnters build up a tolerance to flashes you basically spend half the fight watching it fly around shooting fireballs
Use a bow
is there a visible indicator on MR monsters or do i just have to count the seconds
You can hit his tail and his wings while he's flying
Annoying but yeah. Flinching him when he lands in the middle of his main combo works too.
Use the clutch claw
Any other experienced hunters getting tired of reading people complain about hunts taking long or monsters doing too much damage?
I feel like it’s the total opposite (MR 10 and I’m still using the same meme build as before - eye patch + 4 piece y Vaal), feels like the monsters deal no damage at all (especially Glavenus was a total let down).
Has anyone tried to check if Glavenus’ blindspot behind his right leg is still there when charging his 360 (no longer) kill move?
Didn’t have the chance since I found out you can cancel that move by just using the clutch claw (not sure if intended)
Yep. Safe spot still there
>flinch shotted tobi into the arena walls for the kill
based
i've never played MH but i want to be sat on by congalala
is he in MHW
