No. First of all, a lot of real passion went into making Bloodborne from Moyazaki's part, unlike with the Dark Souls games. Miyazaki was fucking done with Souls after the first one, in case you didn't know. The rest of those games were contractual obligation games.

You fight Ludwig, the first boss in the DLC area, and maybe you don't even remember that you've seen that name before. A horse-like beast just tearing shit up. Then he remembers just a little bit of when he was a human hunter, and that's when you're supposed to realize he is THE Ludwig from the Church Hunters, their equivalent of Gehrman. His name changes and so does the music, symbolizing he is not just a wild horse beast anymore, but he has regained part of his human side despite the fact that he is still insane and attacking you regardless.

A lot of time and care went into making Ludwig, and Dark Souls 3 tries to re-use the second phases and music changes but it just isn't on the same level as Bloodborne.

Yeah great, which means literally nothing. you could say that sekiro follows also the souls formula with a bit more stealth. what i´m talking about is this: between DeS and DaS3 is little to none innovation. I´m not talking about QoL improvements or PC port tuning. I´m talking about new mechanics, additions to the gameplay. Sekiro had the verticality, stealth, more of a new age adventure but still somehow the souls formula. Bloodporn is a double edged sword. i loved the game, it had some new ideas (insight, night cycle ((even tough scripted))) but it relied more on DeS/DaS than sekiro. Now imagine a combination of all 3 games... maybe it´s a bit to much, for the causal gaymer, but i love complexity in my games, i love a deep rooted system which let´s you do shit outta the box, and this is where the Problem is: Sekiro was a little bit different from all From Games of the past decade. All thoose bitches that cried it´s to different put maybe miya or From as whole in a difficult position and we have to see if it will cater to the masses, or to the From Fans

Someone finally gets it right.

Ludwig is one of the best bosses in a video game and it achieves it with minimal overdressing. It's very hard to beat that.

Your average final boss might be better but that had a whole game to achieve that.

The only other boss quite as cool in terms of presentation is the Kyuubi from Okami which japes you into thinking it's a new ability, then turns out it's basically a mirror match between two godlike folklore entities. I just wish the fight itself was more challenging.

I'd put Orphan right next to him. The presentation and his transformation from goofball to absolute nightmare work perfectly together.
