What's wrong with the level design? The first level is pretty alright since it all connects back to he very beginning.

I beat him at level 1, so around 700 HP? He drops pretty fast to a +3 zwei and heavy weapon gifts regardless. It helps to have warrior’s attack buff skill and Louis as your companion.

That final boss really made me hate how your L2+ special moves have no invincibility frames and that the enemy can just stop anything you're doing.
It's really annoying type of gameplay.
Besides that I liked it, it's no Souls tier game but different enough to stand on its own, will get it when the price goes down some.

The hitbox on this is pretty good, can't count the number of hits I have dodged incidentally by hitting at the same time as the enemy and my character slightly lowering on the side and their weapon going above

It's been a while since I played the Network test, but I recall using the big blood spike spell and lightning orbs a lot. The one that calls down lightning was also pretty good and actually had AoE. The teleporting slash was also fun.

They’re all still there, but the new depths dungeon has a way lower soul payout so it takes forever to unlock them

I see. Hopefully the next dungeon will make it faster to unlock them all.
On a side note, I really like the Ichor system. It encourages you to play aggressively and use your Gifts a lot instead of saving them up for bosses like in regular Souls.

That's likely the mystery the game will be focused on solving. I think the demo picks up exactly where the game begins. The course of the game will be recovering memories, purifying mistles, activating bloodsprings, and helping Louis research the blood stuff before he probably betrays you or something.

It's got a similar skeleton but a lot of differences. It's probably closer to Bloodborne, both aesthetically and gameplay-wise, but even then there's a big difference. Code Vein has a system similar to old FF's job thing, where you can freely swap your class on the fly. Your stats come purely from your armor and your class. Each class has a bunch of unique abilities they can use, and when you "master" them by using them enough you can cross them over for use in other classes.

So it's like Bloodborne with a job system and the ability to create a "hot bar" of abilities from each class (sort of like Guild Wars 1, except you have access to every class). It's also got a pretty in-depth character creator.

No, they are mixed: sometime you get instances of hitbox porn like those, but then some bosses's attacks increase or decrese their hitbox range throwing me off on how I should react to a certain type of animation. Also one time I got Queen's Knight shield to the face and it didn't damage me. Jank
