bibiwa

fun
lots of monsters and lots of stuff to do

It's a 'best of' spinoff with adjustable levels of anime, probably the most content in the series

It's good one of the best classic monhuns. Even with the new shitty styles.

It's not as innovative as World, and it doesn't look half as good. But it doesn't have the "I'll hold your hand" gameplay of World, and it has lots more content.

I would say it's the better game, unless graphics is really important to you.

It's good. Loads of monsters, lots of shittier ones but lots of good ones too.

Early quests are a fucking slog of small monster killing and gathering, but it really picks up after that.

Also be aware that it's the easiest Monster Hunter ever made, so it's a pretty good entry point.

World is the easiest Monster Hunter

Depends what style and weapon goes with, but adept and brave are usually too irresistible for new players

It's a love letter to every classic monster hunter game ever released.

It's better than World, fanboyism aside. If your laptop can run World though, you should get that too after Ultimate, because they are both worth playing, despite Worlds annoying issues.

How have you not an hero'd yet

>Also be aware that it's the easiest Monster Hunter ever made,
P3rd says hi.

Nope. Valor and Aerial styles put paid to that. Nothing in MHW even comes close to being as brainlessly busted as those two styles.
Even the slightly less broken Adept style is equivalent to perma max evade extender only better.
I like GU a lot but don't try and pretend like it's not a complete cakewalk for anyone remotely familiar with Monster Hunter.

It's only easy if you abuse the absolutely broken styles like valor.

This. P3rd is absolutely pathetic in terms of difficulty.

So you mean any style other than Guild or Striker. That's most of them, lad.

You could just not play the braindead styles and pretend its 4U, you're not guy always playing the easiest and most optimal thing right?

Alchemy is just striker with fluff and aerial isn't an I win button like valor or adept, just very one dimensional.

I mostly played Adept hammer cos GOTTA GO FAST, which isn't particularly broken but it's still a bit too strong.

No. World has some QOL bullshit that makes you use less brain than something like 3U or FU, but P3rd and GU are a joke and will most likely never be outdone for how easy they are.

you mean very... Z DIMENSIONAL

just wait for the exclusive switch monster hunter, should be released next year

The problem with Aerial is you fight every single monster the exact same way and never learn anything.

wheres the hat

Yeah world doesn't integrate iframes into moves or let people bruteforce damage in with completely braindead mantles at all, that just doesn't happen.
Turf wars for 10% of a monsters health and environmental hazards just don't exist

I didn't want those Popo tongues anyway...

Yeah it's hella boring, wouldn't call it as easy and some monsters do have a better ability to bitchslap you from the air.

Mantles got some welcome big nerfs in Iceborne. Also complaining about turf wars? C'mon man.

turf wars are cool exactly once. They may as well just be ecology videos.

VALOR GUNLANCE.

Problem is World's QoL isn't the only problem. The amount of skills you can have at one time on top of the weapon stats being far too high make the game way too easy, you can tank everything but you hit like an absolute truck.
Not to mention they increased iframes on the roll making it far too easy to roll through attacks.

Don't get me wrong, I like World but it's difficulty is a joke if you aren't playing like an idiot on purpose.

I'm not saying World is particularly hard but I breezed through GU like it was nothing. Both village and hub. Seemed noticeably easier.

they're just a free break for shitters while doing pretty ridiculous damage, grugsteady is still strong and life augments are still completely busted, temporal mantle has been nerfed to dodging 5 hits maximum but I still see every epic youtuber and streamer cheese everything with it because giving it to everyone in high rank was supposedly very smart.
World is just immensely casual, so is adept and brave don't get me wrong, but worlds casualizations go beyond "just a lil bit of QoL"

turf wars and environmental weapons like boulders are cool as fuck, but sometimes the map seems ridiculously favored against the monster

Valor gunlance is absolutely fucking ridiculous
>rapid fire shells that get stronger as you fire them
>guardpoint on your quick reload that's buffed to give you 4 shells
>different fullburst multiplier that rewards going all in
>casual instant wyvernfires
>smack the rocket boost hunter art on it to become the ultimate weapon of destruction

Aren't augments way way harder to get in Iceborne? I'm a PC shitter so I've not seen yet, but that's what I hear.

The only problem with that playstyle is you will be damned to the deepest level of hell in multiplayer

That's the primary thing I hate about world and also GU, it no longer feels like the hunters are out of their element and fighting something much greater than them.
Suddenly they're doing flips, smacking the monsters into boulders, grappling onto them, making them fight for absolutely free damage, having tech that completely negates all their damage.
It makes hunts look almost sad, like the hunters truly are the monsters.

From my understanding it actually falls off due to the nature of gunlance's damage mechanic but holy fuck it's the most fun gunlance in the franchise and World's gunlance should've just been based off of it.
I haven't kept up actually, what're the Iceborne gunlance changes?

Anyway, OP should try GU purely so he can fight BEST BOYS Mizutsune, Zamtrios and Congalala.

Sounds nice if true

Man IS the deadliest animal of all, user.

Mostly just a fuckton of damage buffs and a "artificial weakpoint" for gunlance where you stick a thing on a monster and every time you proc it with a shell it explodes for essentially extra damage, in a way making gunlance play a regular blademasters game except they get to choose the weakpoint.

I don't know about Congalala friend, GUs monster roster is absolutely sick once you get past the intro through.

Thanks user, I laffed

Don't you DARE talk shit about the STINKIEST of stinky monkeys!

What's the appeal of these games?
I literally can't fucking play any of them longer than 4-5 hours. They're so fucking boring holy shit why do so many people rave about them

Attached: 1567638085624.jpg (960x539, 139K)

clearly it's not a game for you

Imagine actually pushing yourself to play games you don't like. Move on and play a different game, dumbass.

>no tetsucabra or Najarala
4U had some great fucking monsters

>Najarala
>good
naaaaaaaah

A laptop can probably run PPSSPP and MHFU for it, so go play MHFU.

True. I didn't like gen so I skipped to GU. Even LR was hell to me with all the shitty gen 1/2 monsters but once you fight shagaru and HR opens up, every monster is just great. I even noticed in LR most monsters get exhausted more often, and they just stand and essentially let you whack them, like the small fire breath thing glav does.

the new monsters in 4U, being trashmobs aside, are all fucking great
>tfw more bugs never ever

can't believe they never made another monster with its skeleton

Even the new deviants are way more distinct than your regular subspecies
Boltreaver, nightcloak, soulseer, rustrazor are all very unique fights and capcom did a really good job with them.
Elderfrost and bloodbath can suck my dick though.

>Game not for you
WHY DO YOU LIKE THIS GAME YOU SPEEDREADERS

We’ll get bugs and leviathans back in 6, I believe in Ryozo

It's a very unique and interesting monster, but not a particularly fun one.

Maybe it's because I mainly use Greatsword but it seems to me that Adept is the most broken style. Valor isn't even that good compared to Adept. Haven't used Aerial a ton but it seems a little less broken than Adept

Cus there's a lot of fun to be found in gradually building up your arsenal of armor and weapons while getting more proficient at the combat, and most of the monsters are pretty distinct and fun to replay to find new previously undiscovered openings.

Cause wacking monsters with a bigstick, skinning and making gears out of them is fun
And it depend on your starting game. World is so-so, 4U throw you into action pretty fast, but boy GU will just bore you out for at least 5h til the real fun begins

Valor greatsword is megabusted, friend. The unsheath attack and the MASSIVE forward jump you can do mid charge are really stupidly broken. The mobility you get is insane.

The most brainless for Aerial are probably hammer and switch axe. The former because it's free chain KOs and the latter because it hits twice and does stupid damage.

Valor and adept are more broken than any option in World but they require you learn the game before you can exploit them for bullshit. A new player to the franchise isn't getting much mileage out of them before they pick up good fundamentals, and an experienced player still has to learn where to use them against different enemies.
They are absolutely bullshit once you get underway but mantles are brainless the moment you realize you can use them at all.

nice remastered meme

If the appeal is in watching yourself improve maybe I'll try it again.

It's a very slow burn, you start out as baby scrub killing baby scrub monsters but eventually you're killing the big boy shit with a fully upgraded farm and decked out cats and you feel like you've grown as a hunter™.

As tired a phrase as it may be "getting gud" is the main point of satisfaction.

the hat is a later addition and not known to all

Idk I played Valor GS for like half my playtime i GU and I almost instantly had an easier time with Adept once I switched. Heaps of free i frames on top of fast charging can't be beat

I'm pretty sure Valor has higher DPS but that kind of only matters in high level play where people just don't get hit

It clicks at different times for different people
I absolutely hated FU back then, played some Gods eater and craved some more big monster hunting, went back to FU again and once it clicked, oh boy i just spent so much fucking money following the series on so many fucking consoles. Fuck you Ryozo
Have fun user

We all know anything new introduced to any current mh game is broken. Remember CB, IG, mount, slime/blast? Even the fucking claw in world is broken. Half the shit in world is broken. It not even the hardest game. B..but muh extreme behemoth. Post your kill time. If they added style to world you fucker would eat that shit. B..but world isnt anime enjoy your anime and shit jet dragon and stupid trex.
>anus got into world
>yes yes more realistic monster
>still not anime
Remember world isnt the problem the problem is people who started with world, they are the problem. You know who you are. Fuck you for the mh thread shitposting. Go back to trannies thread /mhg/.

Valor GS really comes into its own the better you know the monster. A lot of the time you'll be standing still in front of its face charging cos you know that next swipe is going to miss, or charging in the direction of seemingly nothing because you know an attack will end up with the monster in that spot.

I cant even tell what game you're trying to shit on
learn english and come back

Based
>Responding to the wrong post
Cringe

>Game
I'm trying to shit on your chest. Lay down and lap it up ESL

all monster hunter games are garbage.
play something good instead.

how much of this could one reasonably solo?

you can solo all of it
trying to solo some late game hyper monsters and deviants will be cancer but they aren't required

All of it.

But some of it will require your maximum effort, this applies for all MH games.

>fetch quests

>egg quests to unlock crimson fatalis

Shit load of contents, fucking awful on the technical side. 30 FPS, looks pretty ugly, AI isn't as good as in World, but still enjoyable if those things don't faze you

Target cam shouldn't be selecting Tigrex. Otherwise nice

why do you enjoy choking on giant dicks

>He can't suck his own giant dick
Get a load of this guy

honestly
I tried the demo on Switch and I just can't with its visuals after having played World for 1000 hours.

Shoo, Snoyfag.

Are we just going to ignore world because iceborne is coming out?

I like bossfights and the game is entirely comprised of them.

Creating gear to improve your character by carving up animals instead of leveling up is a fun idea too.

The graphics overall are shit, they're not going to impress anyone (this is coming from a MHGUfag). The plus side of this is that the game engine runs solid like a rock.

DLC side quests / EX fights in MHGU
>not main game, doesn't count
DLC side quests in World
>not main game but still counted definitive fights

Get bent, brand loyalist.

I played valor greatsword and it solod me all the way through to G4 (no cat). It's pretty busted. Left me wishing there was more skill to the sheath evade.

With some monsters there's definite skills in micromanaging the timing benefit . . . but with others its just standing in front of a monster and spamming sheath evade -> draw slash since it's faster than sheathing weapon normally.

I much prefer valor longsword but i feel it could lose the sheath evade and focus purely on the parry for defence. Felt really silly having 2 absolute outs to any attack,.

Also, I'll add that: holy shit fuck the legacy maps. God I love looking at popup tree jpegs while deviljho is readying an attack I cant fucking see,
