With Sakurai saying, “with more opportunities to satisfy fans” I think the extra DLC characters are going to be characters Nintendo have seen a lot of folks requesting/speculating throughout the DLC season that weren’t going to be part of the pass. Sans got in (although as a Mii costume) from requests throughout the DLC season. I honestly 100% expect Doom Guy, Steve, Reimu, and even Geno.

People who want or expect DOOM in Smash are setting themselves up for disappointment.

It is illegal to publically advertise CERO-Z games. That is why you never see DOOM ads on Japan's Nintendo Direct or channel.
Bethesda/id software has never made an effort to tone down the violence for a CERO-D rating. The best you can expect from a Bethesda rep is probably Skyrim.

Geno and Doom Guy are my most wanted, and while I ain't into Heavy characters I would still go bonkers seeing TF2 actually make it in, so for me I would be happy.

All the characters in the DLC pass has advertised their originating games.
Nintendo of Japan's directs and youtube channel have no DOOM ads because it's CERO-Z.
Having DOOM in Smash would be the equivalent of advertising a CERO-Z game.

I don't think they would do an entire pass dedicated to echoes, echoes take far less dev time and would probably be released between passes and as bonuses, also Raiden as a Snake echo wouldn't work, too different fighting styles, Big Boss would work better.
And Octolings are too similar to Inklings, they should have been an alt skin if you ask me.

The simple change for octo echoes is to change the weapons they hold to be splatoon 2 weapons, and possibly make the final smash the stingray? I don’t know if they’d change that but it’s a thought
