I just beat tempered Kirin for my HR50 promotion. Shits annoying with slow CB attacks and Kirin prancing around all the time. Is there anything I can do to catch up to it more easily?

Don't know about regular Glav, but Acid Glav's HH is the meta pick for pure offense.

Snow Shark took about 20, Deer Guy about 25, Spicy Tobi about 20, and Pink Pukei about 18. Some of that is not having played for a few months, most of that is that monsters have way bigger health pools.

most monsters in HR had about 6-8k life
monsters in MR have about 20-25k life, about a 3x multiplier (all of this is solo)
Combined with weak gear if you don't consistently upgrade and armor sets with worse skills, MR hunts are going to be longer.

The clutch counter is bar none one of the because clutch attacks in the game since you get hyperarmor.

Just farm barroth/jagras/mining ores and upgrade your weapon to rarity 9 or 10 ASAP, most of them are way better.

Grugsteady also gives hyperarmor, you end up just getting hit multiple times in a second and dying.

You should 100% be upgrading your weapon every chance you get.
Armor depends on you. If you can't dodge every hit you're going to need to upgrade your armor, but there is some decent armors out there

Instant enrage if you clutch wall them though so that's nice for anti shitter measures.

Don't grab monsters faces during breath attacks then dunkus

Your weapon, very little. You want something MR level ASAP. I went for V Tobi weapons for flexibility.

Armor depends on how good you are at not getting hit. Also Health Boost is pretty much mandatory if you want to do things like that. MR3 is a good point tostart crafting some armor.

Personally, I just do Banbaro 2-3 times and make that set as a jumping off point for MR sets you are interested in.

The bonus cats/goblins are world's version of the two cat system, but they suck more than your palico in no small part because they can't heal themselves.
The monster partners aren't super great either, but girros paralysis never stops being funny, so there's that.

You can't solo Behemoth unless you do some gimmick HBG build. Its hp is scaled to be that way.

No, those quests are marked as complete when. You get to Master Rank 1 which you get by talking the commander. You might need to just restart the game.

Extremoth has HP bloat but it's not a dangerous monster for a vast majority of the fight.
Meanwhile the harder of the ex deviants are threats for the whole duration and actually do have 1 shots which extremoth lacks.
They are more punishing.

And thus some of the ex are harder than etxtremoth. I'm not talking about the weak ones like the crabs which get staggered to shit but the more mobile ones like hellblade, azurebolt, or Grimclaw. Those 3 are harder than extremoth for sure.
The hardest part about extremoth is beating the clock. Not the monster itself.

I've got a couple of games I have never played that I'm using to occupy my next four months of gaming.

First on the list is Control, which I'm playing right now and am about three-forths of the way done. It's not the best shooter I've played, but it's okay and has its fun moments.
Next up is Dead Cells. I've been meaning to get into this game for months now, but I wanted to wait until it's gotten at least most of its updates out of the way so that I don't have to deal with the constantly changing balancing patches the game has been going through.
By the end of September, I should be done with both of these games. This should coincide with the release of Ys 9: Monstrum Nox on PS4. Yes, I do have a PS4. No, I don't want to buy Iceborne for PS4 because I can't stand the framerate, the loading (still worse than PC even with an SSD on my PS4) and the lack of mouse and keyboard controls. Another game I want to get into once I'm done with Ys 9 is The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors.

That's just for games up until the end of October. For November and December, I got Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, Atelier Sophie, BallisticNG, Furi and, finally, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

The radius of the ecliptic was nerfed to where you can be outside the area and live, and the timing is only inconsistent if you play on console with an unstable framerate in the 30s because animations are tied to framerate in MHW.
Not to mention that many of behemoths/extremoths hitboxes are more than generous enough for you to roll them with base i-frames effortlessly. Like the belly flop.
If you want to look at a hard monster that also fights back in world one should look at AT Nergigante.

And even with the meteor upkeep soloing extremoth still isn't as hard as soloing some of the super deviants.
