this game is worse than awakening. map reuse out the ass while trying to pass these places off as different sides of the continent on the world map without the excuse of it being a remake like echoes. weapons that were previously in the now gone weapon triangle are just different flavors of beat sticks. the skill system is horrendously boring. monestary fuckery every goddamn month. character motivations revolve entirely around the self insert. and most egregious of all, the game sells itself on these 3 different routes, but everything prior to the time skip then half the stuff after the time skip is exactly the same.

She somehow learns the revelations made in GD. Which is going to be a HELL of a feat to accomplish for two reasons.

1. Only Rhea knows the truth
2. Even if she told it, for what purpose would she have to believe her, and would that even be enough for her to leave the church in place as is? It might even motivate her even further

When I first saw her I thought she was seemed cute but that the gimmick would be overplayed. I don't think I was wrong honestly but I was surprised to find she had a lot of other likable qualities. Seeing the big teddy bear in her room, finding out she loves the venus fly traps the most of any plant, and seeing her artistic side in her supports really solidified her as my favorite character. Even as someone that likes the character I can't deny they're awful. I think the problem is that with how big the cast was they needed to kind of pad out the supports. Unlike the older games, take the gba games for example, where characters had like three or four supports at most everyone was expected to have like fifteen of them. If we saw it once or twice from her it would be fine, but almost every C support plays out the same.

Ignaz turned into a monster with his stat growth on my playthrough, massive dex, str, and speed gains ensure that he destroys literally everything he attacks. The only thing that kind of makes him bad is the lack of defense and resistance, the middling values he got means he can't afford to get hit, even though he'll dodge most stuff.

My worst GD characters so far are Lorenz and Marianne, but Marianne gets a pass for having good healing and support magic. And my Lysithea has 3 defense at level 20, I'm seriously considering switching her job to something with a higher defense gain because she can't survive a counter attack.

However he isn't wrong about Claude plot to kill Rhea, he admits he had thought about it given how important the church of Seiros is for Fodland and how much it would weaken Fodland locket knowing Holst would be rallied along the Gloucesters to defend the church, which would lead to an open Almyran invasion.

If anything most of the alliance plot relies on the back of how much power Gloucester house has now that Riegan house is weak and how hard Holst fucks the Almyrans.

Start with Blue Lions for the surface-level approach to the game, it being by far the easiest route also helps.
Go Church or Golden Deer next, for lore dumps.
And end with Black Eagles, which is pretty much the True Ending.

You should stick to only a couple, it really hurts the tension and emotional impact of the story when you're supposed to be cutting down former classmates and friends in the timeskip. And instead you have everyone safely in your barracks while the main lords just have their vassals and no one else. Go after whoever you really like but don't be too focused on getting everyone the first time through.

Between Ferdinand and Sylvain, who makes the better wyvern lord and who makes the better paladin/horse master class?
I know wyvern lord is probably ideal for both of them but I like cavaliers and want at least 1 for late game after I've gotten most of my levels in.

My Lorenz leans more towards a cavalier as well, but he still has decent magic. I made him a dark mage from the death knight's seal, though the poor movement of mages is really limiting what I can accomplish with them all, and I'm sitting on Lysithia, Marianne, Lorenz, and Dorothea right now. I finally had to cave and make Dorothea a mercenary with a Levin Blade just because I was barely plodding along on most maps and could never strike first with so many mages.

I'm leaving Lorenz a dark mage though because a dark knight would be the perfect class for him, allowing him to take advantage of good strength and magic while retaining high movement.

Marianne has to be in your house to get the true ending

I've got to be careful with Hilda and Raphael on my playthrough, both have massive defense and strength and Hilda has amazing speed while Raphael still two hits enemies with his fists. I finally bit the bullet and swapped them out of knights to something else because their defense is so high they don't need it -- even as a brawler, Raphael still takes almost zero damage, but can now reliably double (quadruple) most things with fist weapons or unarmed.

I thought about making some off the wall choices with class assignment to round up some characters (Dark Mage Raph, Archer Lysithia), but ultimately bowed out of it when I saw that magic was locked to character and Lysithia was one of the few who learned dark magic innately. Does that change in NG+?

I ended up not using Sylvain for my BL run.

I recruited Lysethia and used Shamir/Catherine a lot.

For BE I just decided to use them all.

I used a load of them, I used my main house members until they got too strong for the recommended level and then swapped to the weaker ones to level them up and get supports
it worked well, I poached a couple in my first run, mostly so I wouldn't have to end up killing them down the road
