Dante vs Virgil
That actually makes a lot of sense
Has to be a character that was originally good & transitioned to the evil side, so probably Riku vs Sora
old snake and liquid ocelot
The fuck it does. As great as that fight was, Vergil was barely a character in DMC1 and by the time DMC3 arrived, the two were already at odds with each other. There was no friendship between them and no tears of build up for their eventual confrontation.
Yea these three.
this
They used to be friends growing up, it was explained in DMC5
Those two were never friends.
Uther VS Arthas over the King's urn.
Infamous 2 evil ending
Snake vs liquid in mgs4
Arthas vs Uther
The good guy/mentor lost here, but Arthas is as close to Anakin/Vader as you can get
It could be construed as Ocelot becoming his real self though after the battle
Only correct ones. The friendship part is important.
A largely "epic" fight that was fun to watch but went on for way too long then it needed to. Where 90% of the fight has no purpose other than "it looks cool" with a heartbreaking ending after its all over?
Easy... Metal gear solid. The final fight in the first PS1 game. You won't find a better answer.
You're forgetting all the buildup through the series before it happens.
Admittedly TPM and AotC were pretty shitty, even in this regard, but at least, in my opinion, The Clone Wars cleaned things up and make RotS (and a little bit of the prequels) a lot better by extension.
Raziel and Kain
Add this one to the pile
Don't know about this one. Rick and Terror Mask were never really "friends". They had a common destination but their goals were entirely different. By the time Splatterhouse 3 came, Rick and Terror were more than willing to kill each other as opposed to reluctantly having to fight.
9S vs. A2
alternatively, the Episode III video game
You asked the fight... Don't change the goalposts. You are asking for a series conclusion
A vidya equivalent duel between Obi-Wan and Anakin would be more than just a flashy fight you brainlet.
A long awaited fight between master and disciple with a disappointingly executed conclusion?
The fight symbolizes a lot, is my point.
This looked a lot better when I was a kid. Loved the alternate ending.
Found it... It's party cheating but it's Vidya and it fits perfectly.
Naruto Ninja storm 2
Jiraya vs. Pain
Teacher vs student that used to be friends with a long ass cool fight. Teacher loses instead.
Kino
Video game writing is so poor that there isnt anything as good as obi wan vs anakin
guaranteed replies
at least i get to be the first
UT vs. Quake III Arena
For anyone on Yea Forums who actually remembers those days
"in my opinion the jedi are evil"
Look I love the movies but I won't say they are wrote well.
/thread
You literally can't find a better answer.
>with a disappointingly executed conclusion?
I was just about to post this myself. For it to truly be an Obi-Wan vs. Anakin fight, the ending has to be really awkward.
>That alternate ending where Anakin wins, kills palpatine and becomes the new emperor
Unironically kino
Anakin vs Obi Wan in Lego Star Wars
Unironically Cloud vs Sephiroth
Still gives me feels.
But hes right. The republic is trying to take control of the confederate systems who are just trying live independently.
I hope they make it more interesting in the remake
Snake vs Boss
me vs my dad when i beat him in unreal tournament and then he beat me
Let me remind you it came from a man's mouth that slaughtered maybe 20 children that day retard...
Not really. Anakin was a character who had his good intentions twisted by a greater evil and couldn't see it until it was too late. By the time he fought Obi Wan he couldn't see how distorted his view had become to where he saw no problem with killing chil-I mean Younglings.
By contrast Cloud and Sephiroth were never friends. Sephiroth barely knew who Cloud was. And Sephiroth wasn't twisted by anyone else. He chose to go mad.
Either Raiden vs Sam or Raiden vs Armstrong from MGS:R.
Especially in terms of epicness and swordfight, but also because in both fights the combatants had something in common or a connection.
Correct. Any other answer is wrong.
EVIL children
Raiden didn't know Sam at all other than being the jackass that cut his arm off, again, until after he killed him.
>kino
I saw that at a friend's house who bought the game before the movie was released. He played the bonus fight without realizing what it was and just thought you could pick characters in it. When I saw that scene I thought it was so thoroughly cursed that I immediately asked to learn how to play so I could jump right into the normal final boss mission and beat Anakin myself.
Maybe from his point of view, they were...
Are you brainlets going to ignore this post? A teacher vs student with plenty of build up?
What the hell? I don't know shit about vidya, what game?
Surprised no one said this
motherfucker beat me to it
This
>Are you brainlets going to ignore this post?
>has a response
Also the source material isn't vidya even if it is accurate
Literally the same story
>Good boy turns bad
These
explain this
A mod for one of the Jedi Knight games. Probably Movie Battles II mod.
>
Makes sense and even two friends play this togehter
SO4 because this knife ear buddy of yours basically became the big bad because his crush died.
That is actually good, though.
>that face
>his
Those crazy repressed Japs
Well, here's the cg render.
It made into a videogame. That is fair play.
no it's not, because then the fucking answer to this thread would be the Lego equivalent of the same scene
In the Japanese version he's literally voiced by a woman.
I've seen some good answers but what about specifically this part of the duel?
X5. Zero has a spin move. It's a good move.
sounds like a good trick to try. You were a good friend
Any video games where spinning is unironically a good trick?
Fuck what anyone says I like the prequels just because of how b-tier 2000's scifi they are. Sequels just don't do anything for me even on a cheesey movie sense.
Now compare that with fight between Vader and Luke in Episode VI:
Full of passion and rage (mostly from Luke's part), clear intent to damage and hurt badly, repeated brutal strikes near the end from Luke that screamed "STAY AWAY FROM MY SISTER"....
The prequels' fights were much more elegant, yes, but they seemed to lack substance. Too much flashy choreography.
one of my favorite star wars games. so many memories playing the versus mode against my friend as the different characters. some of the alternate costumes were sick
1-3 > 4-6 > 7+8 prove me wrong
One of the few games that is ONLY good blind and only if it was played around the time of release.
4>5>3>6>2>1 RoTS is better than RoTJ and only somewhat decent Disney Star Wars was RO but the characters were so forgettable.
Mother 3 was pretty close to Star Wars in general
evil ugly fuck with a barely-alive cyborg and a bunch of troopers wearing similar uniforms to the stormtroopers
yeah that moment was pretty good, he was swinging wildly but it had soul.
In Double Dragon co-op when you fight the other player as the final boss. Lego Star Wars even used that idea for this fight.
Alternatively, Sora vs Riku seems somewhat fitting.
X5 is the only game that fits the bill. Proper amount of bonding between characters to an eventual confrontation. Zero even has a laser sword for fucks sakes.
So much this. Also, the theme that plays in this scene
The interactions between father and son at the end redeemed what is an awful film. Kino
Closer to Vader sacrificing himself to save Luke.
>RO
>decent
>play co-op all the way through with friend
>you have to kill each other at the end
I still wanna know how that went on average, i know when i did it with a friend we were fighting each other for a good while
The only thing decent about RO is the hallway scene. Everything about it is trash
The hallway scene is normalfag bait, of course vader can cut down a few rebel troops
>So much this
kys reddit
I liked watching rebel shits getting killed on that space 'Nam planet and Ben Mendelsohn is a good actor even when the movie is kinda shit. I would love to see a live action Umbara arc but RO is the closest we get and it's a good pro Empire movie imo.
So tragic yet powerful at the same time.
Also, let's not forget the deliveries aside from the swordfights. Luke's emotional turmoil and Hamil's performance of this, alone, outgunned both Hayden's and Ewan's ones. The fight between them needed more drama and passion. They were supposed to be brothers and close friends, each one thinking he was betrayed by the other.
Rogue One was alright, but the premise kind of falls apart considering that the Death Star's weakness wasn't some baffling flaw; literally every vehicle in the Star Wars series needs some kind of exhaust port. Considering how big the Death Star was, having only two, and tiny ones at that, was quite impressive.
Ewan did a good job. I actually prefer him over Guiness for Obi Wan
If I had to list them it would be
>4
>5
>3
>6
>1
>2
I dont even consider "7" and "8" to be Star Wars movies
Nah dude the actual worst part was when they both go to force push one another and it's just them grunting and sound effects.
You know what would have been cool?
If everything off to the sides of them was getting fucking demolished by all that force power smashing off itself.
That'd be cool
Me too. But he should had broken a little bit from his "Stoic Ideal Jedi with a Hint of Sarcasm" persona and showed some pain in his eyes, voice...something. If you know what I mean.
Same thing for Hayden, who had captured the general visage of the fallen Jedi and was believable in this portrayal, but he sounded so bored and casual when he talked. ALmost like a robot.
