This game can be so frustrating. I'm replaying it now and I'm loving the story on this replay, I'm following it a lot closer now but man some of these levels just puts me in a rage. I never thought Hotline Miami was the strongest game ever in terms of gameplay, visceral and fun for sure but the aiming always felt hit and miss.
I'm getting so fucking mad at some of these levels, like I just want them to be over so I can move on.
I'm playing "Death Wish" right now and this is just annoying. Like that Bear, his main gimmick is fucking useless, the level is practically screaming for you to use it, but it's so unreliable and unfun that I fall asleep thinking about it. FUCK this character, with this music, this should have been fun, but it's just miserable.

Hotline Miami 2? More like Bumline Gayami 2
Gabriel Roberts
It's challenging but it's extremely satisfying once you learn the game and are able to play levels fluidly in one continuous motion. The first game feels like shit once you go back to it after playing the sequel.

Playing Dead Ahead on hard mode and I’m gonna just stop playing if I can’t beat it tonight
Jack Wood
its really not that hard
Thomas Sanders
It's not that it's too hard, it's just frustrating, smallest mistakes fucks you and having to rely on the screen crawl becomes an annoyance.
I should say that in playing tonight, I've only gotten annoyed by Dead Ahead and Death Wish, I've had fun outside of that. I love the story of this game, and the gameplay is fun too when it's not fucking annoying.
Dead Ahead is the worst level in the entire game, at least that's all I can remember from my first playthrough, playing it this time wasn't all that bad but I still hated it.

you haven't lived until you cleared Withdrawal without dying on the third floor
Hotline Miami has one of my favorite stories of any game ever but to this day I haven’t finished Hotline Miami 2. The levels are just too frustrating to be worth it when the plot isn’t half as interesting as the first game’s. I like the level editor though.
I liked Katana Zero way more than both Hotline Miami games, even though it's a shameless ripoff

The emphasis on guns is what I didn’t care for. I also didn’t like having to use specific play styles on every level because of how the characters work. Prefer the mask system of 1. I liked it more when I was tearing through places in a berserker rage, not a mass shooter.
What exactly is the plot of the first game? I just beat it and I have no idea. Bunch of Russian hackers building a bomb and mind controlling people to kill others?
Daniel Wood
What’s the best mask in 1 and why is it peter?

I wrote this in another thread but I'll write it again. I respect what Dennaton did with the story in Hotline Miami 1&2, I love how it's just a writer nerding out, there's conspiracies, surrealism, a closely interconnected story that spans years, in-universe politics that are there to serve the games story. Comparing the story of Hotline Miami to so many other indie games where it's just allegorical trash about depression or being oppressed in some way, it's a breath of fresh air.
I wish more indie devs wrote actually interesting stories.

Death wish is the worst level in the game. Fuck using those two niggers Also if you need some tips use shotgun on first and second beard levels and then super machine gun for last. When I first played the game I though it was hard but it is easy.
Alexander Allen
Well, it's obviously Tony.

Is it good that it on my first try then I had to do it again since I didn't get abyss and it took some tries.

Get good nigger. You haven't even seen dead ahead or death wish on hardmode yet.
mark's part of that level is the easiest. i'm not even good and my record for it is 18 seconds. just hold shift, aim up off-screen through the windows and know where the enemies will be
