I did beat the first Nightmare, and then kinda lost interest. It's just the 3DS one again, and most fights will revolve around abusing the time stop. I was thinking the online might be worth it, but now I know what it feels like when the boss is caught in a time stop.

Feels odd playing it in 30fps. Was Star Allies in the same framerate?

i hadn't played the 3ds one so this is all fresh to me, but i did quickly notice how busted timestop is
how stingy is the game with apples? wanna see how far i can get F2P but i also worry i'm gonna run into constant brick walls if i'm too scared with how i spend

It's possible, but it'll take a while. You'll need a lot of the free apples from the tree and to hold off on upgrading your equipment until it's really necessary. Most of your apples will simply go back into unlocking more quests.

couple more questions, is charge speed one of the most important stats? i assume it is just because of the brokenness of timestop
also, what's the biggest DPS attacks for each of the roles, or is it gonna constantly differ by situation

this is how i felt too, but each time you timestop the boss becomes more resistant to it, and later bosses have a lot more health. if everyone is maining timestop you lose out on dps

Charge is the most important stat for every role but Doctor. The charge moves are the highest DPS for Sword and Hammer. Beam should focus on Time Stop before unloading dash air spam, the one that sprays at a downward angle; it can be used multiple times before landing. The Doctor's strongest move is the random potion from its down special. Most people don't use Doctor, just don't get hit lol.

What is Brave Hammer? Is it a move?

Sword's highest dps isn't charging. The combo you should be fishing for is jump slash > pogo > jump slash > pogo > etc.
If you have a wall behind you, then you can just spam jump slash as well. The pogo is mostly for repositioning (don't pogo more than once or the damage gets halved).

I'm not really sure, I'd love a jukebox in the game so we could enjoy all the music.

if you main one class and occasionally upgrade your teams equipment like every 3 or 4 tiers you shouldnt run out of apples and be stuck that often. i made a huge mistake buying sword stuff every upgrade and burned through apples but luckily you can just grind star chest quests in multiplayer to quickly get apples or rerun heroic quests for them.

ah, i saw the codex for the star chests but, what quests give those out? is there a way to tell?
and by rerun do you just mean going back and knocking out missions you missed? or can you reset them somehow

Star quests randomly appear online. The easiest way to play them is to find someone hosting one.

I hit a roadblock
325 challenges done and lots of grinding ahead with a slow burn of finishing challenges

just played a 15 minute lag match that lasted "2 minutes"

so if you play a solo or online mission there is a list of requirements to fullfil heroic quests and get gem apples. most are just team composition and clear time.

this game would really benefit from a 3rd axis

Online gets better when you get later into the game and all the shitters have stopped playing. The downside is that no one is actually at endgame right now.

Stuck at D-Mind because my bot teammates don't have enough stats to brute force it.
I'm knocking out party mode missions for vigor refills and trying it over and over.
If I run out of new party missions to do before I beat him, I'm just going to take it as a wall and upgrade from rarity 9.

few hot protips:

-You're safe directly in front of his hammer when he's shooting stars/flamethrower
-Any time he's floating, he's low enough to be hit with spinslash/time stop
-He's still vulnerable in eye form and you should squeeze out as much damage as you can while he's bouncing around or firing lasers

Honestly If you do want to spend money just buy the $40 Max pack and you're set with the tree giving you 2000 every 12 hours. I see it as buying the full game itself

The japanese codes do work. There are 2 that are the same basically for English and Japanese that won't work twice. The rest will.

Paying money does what exactly? Can you not play it without paying something?

You can play without paying anything, but paying money gives you the game's currency and also makes the free handout every 12 hours give you more too. Basically lets you keep pace and not spend hours grinding and waiting for the tree to regrow.
I personally prefer the grind.

Cool, that works for me. Between Astral Chain, DXM, and other stuff I won’t have any trouble dropping it until reset from burning through stamina and daily missions.

You need to have been dashing on the ground before you jumped. The air whip is the regular not-dashing-beforehand jump attack.

I have Dark Matter Blade DX and regular Dark Mtter Gear. I swore the game just gave me a notification that I could now upgrade my gear to SDX versions for any gear up to Rarity 13, but when I go into the shop Dark Matter Blade DX is just grayed out. What the heck? Do I need to have the Armor before I can get SDX of the sword or something? I can't figure out any other reason it's not working unless you have to do SDX upgrades somewhere else?
