I'm absolutely certain on Capcom and Koei if the goal of the fighters pass is still to enforce bonds with other companies
the list would involve a selection of Phoenix, Dante, Leon/Jill, Hayabusa or Lu Bu.
Outside of that, I think a company like NIS, Fromsoft or Sony could have have a rep, but it's not super likely for any.
Granted, if we finally do end up getting Nintendo characters, then the selection goes way the fuck up, and trying to guess characters by that point would be borderline impossible. That being said, I would like some characters from newer games rather than pure legacy picks.

How long do the plan to milk Super Smash Brothers: Ultimate? For the next two years? So what? They're gonna have like 2 or 3 more fucking fighter passes with five more characters each? But only one character will be announced every 3-4 months? So only 3-4 characters a year?
I can already tell they'll milk this for another two years at least, pathetic. I literally don't see the appeal in playing a game like Smash for two years straight, do you people not get bored of it after awhile? Sure the game might have 100+ characters, but it must get boring playing it everyday for hours on end. It's not like an RPG or something. It's a fucking fighting game with no sense of accomplishment, literally it's just bragging rights to say you're better than others, that's it. There's no level ups, no skill gains, no equipment to be had, no sense of getting stronger, etc.
That's what I never liked about fighting games. Let's say you play 1,000 matches and win like 90% of them, alright so you can say you're good at the game. It doesn't gain you anything in the game though. Other players aren't going to care. Where is the sense of accomplishment? How do you have fun playing something so much with nothing to show for it? I'll never understand that. Who cares if your character makes it in the game? What will that do for you? You'll main him and then what? Win a lot with him? But it won't matter in the end because the game gives you nothing for winning. You get bragging rights which is literally nothing in reality. The ONLY way you gain anything from winning in Smash is to somehow become sponsored or become so good you start winning tournaments and get money and fame off it. That's literally the only thing you can possible gain from playing a fighting game so much. At least RPG's have a sense of progression and advancement. You get experience and get strong. Fighting games are just boring after awhile. I fail to see how people play Smash every night for hours on end and not get bored.
